Tsukihime VS Vampire Hunter D!!

The time is nigh for two of the most powerful vampires to ever stalk the night to clash in a reality-shattering showdown!!

Interlude[]

MegaSonic: They’re two of the most powerful vampires in all of fiction, both dedicated to battling their own kind to protect humanity, yet always holding back their true power.

Sharaku: So let’s see what happens when they lose control and finally go all out, to determine who’s the true champion of the night.

MegaSonic: Arcueid Brunestud, the kind-hearted True Ancestor.

Sharaku: Vampire Hunter D, Son of the Sacred Ancestor.

MegaSonic: My name's MegaSonic, and he's Sharaku Jr.!

Sharaku: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win... a Death Battle!!

Arcueid Brunestud is a Blue Moon in DEATH BATTLE![]

MegaSonic: When you think of the moon, what do you associate it with? The ever changing tides? Perhaps a magical girl with the power to save the universe? Or how about a vampire so powerful, even the concept of death itself cannot hold her down? These are the True Ancestors.

Sharaku: Vampiric creatures from birth, the True Ancestors are incredibly powerful nature spirits that live on the moon. Don’t ask me how they grow crops or raise animals up there.

MegaSonic: The True Ancestors act as the servant’s to the world’s will known as Gaia to protect the planet from any form of corruption, even the ones caused by humans. Despite being “Vampires”, they aren’t all that different from humans, just that they spawn naturally into existence as copies of the Brunestud of the Crimson Moon that originally formed a contract with Gaia that lead to the True Ancestors initial existence. However, everything changed during the 12th century, when the final True Ancestor was born. Her name… is Arcueid Brunestud.

Arcueid Background

Sharaku: Known as the White Princess, Arcueid was created with the specific purpose of being the most powerful True Ancestor to ever exist. She would have acted as the executioner of the True Fallen Ancestors and of the strongest Dead Apostles, who are basically like zombies. Unfortunately for the Ancestors, Arcueid had no vampiric urges at all. How do you fuck up creating a vampire superweapon who doesn’t even wanna drink blood? That’s like, the first thing to consider.

MegaSonic: That all changed however, when a man named Michael Roa Valdamjong who desired to become immortal, tricked the ignorant Arcueid into drinking his blood. This event triggered a new side to Arcueid, causing her to go completely berserk and slaughter the True Ancestors who raised and cared for her, and allowed Roa to become an immortal Dead Apostle himself who would hunt down and kill the remaining True Ancestors. Ashamed of her actions and needing a way to keep her sanity, Arcueid locked herself away in her castle for the rest of time, only emerging to battle and kill Roa whenever he emerged before turning to her eternal rest.

Sharaku: Fighting each other in an endless cycle like Link and Ganon on steroids, Arcueid and Roa would continue their battle, at least until the events of the Tsukihime visual novel rolled around. Around this time, Roa had been reincarnated around seventeen times. This last one, reborn in the modern era, was a serial killer by the name of SHIKI Tohno, spelled in all caps.

MegaSonic: So when Arcueid had arrived in Misaki Town in the year 2000, or the city of Souya in 2021, Arcueid…was almost immediately killed by Shiki Tohno, who’s different dude from Roa’s vessel, when he caught her off guard and cut her into 17 pieces…yikes.

Sharaku: Wow, kinda harsh for someone you just met. Imagine if I was just walking down the street, saw some dude from my school who I hardly knew and fucking gunned them down immediately?

MegaSonic: Luckily for Arcueid, her power as a True Ancestor makes her no mere Vampire. Aside from having absurd superhuman strength, speed, and durability, she’s nigh immortal, capable of healing from almost any wound, though in Shiki’s case she couldn’t due to the effects of the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception. So instead, she just…made herself a new body, at the cost of using most of her power at the time.

Sharaku: Due to Shiki’s Nanaya blood - oh yeah, the Nanaya were a family that specializes in killing creatures of the night - he pretty much only “killed” Arcueid out of impulse and not actual malice. Then, immediately after, he went to a park and collapsed. Depending on the route, he would have been either taken back to a mansion or found and taken care of by Ciel, another major character.

MegaSonic: And then Arcueid just… showed up at his school the next day and effectively dragged him into teaming up with her to fight the Dead Apostles showing up around town created by Nrvnqsr Chaos.

Sharaku: C-can you repeat that? ‘Cause I didn’t catch the pronunciation of that at all.

MegaSonic: Nrvnqsr Chaos. It’s really not that hard.

Sharaku: Yeah I… can’t fuckin’ read that.

MegaSonic: You wanna talk about impossible to pronounce Type Moon names? We just talked about a dude named “Valdamjong” and that’s what you question? Or how about Aŋra Mainiiu?

Sharaku: Did a human write this story or what?

Arcueid Abilities (1)

MegaSonic: No, just the mushroom man Kinoko Nasu. But back to what’s ACTUALLY important, is that Arcueid’s True Ancestor abilities go beyond superhuman physicality and Wolverine tier-regeneration. She can manifest and summon chains to bind opponents, form claws at her fingertips to slash people to death, manipulate plant life just by powering up a little, and throw energy wave projectiles that I am FUCKING SICK OF PEOPLE SPAMMING IN METLY BLOOD!

Sharaku: Arcueid is regularly considered to be one of the most powerful characters in the entire Nasuverse, excluding characters like Servants or… the cat. And, if you thought her regeneration was good during the day, it’s especially potent at night. And when I mean “especially potent,” I literally mean, she can’t fucking die.

MegaSonic: We aren’t kidding. Remember Shiki’s Mystic Eyes of Death Perception? They work by allowing Shiki to literally see the lines of “Death” on people and objects, and by cutting those lines, he can bypass any form of shield, regeneration, immortality, and reincarnation to kill you on such an abstract level you can’t come back. Not only did Arcueid come back from that, but during a full moon she is so far removed from the concept of Death that she literally has no lines of Death that Shiki can cut.

Sharaku: Oho, yeah. And if that wasn’t enough, she’s also got her own Mystic Eyes to use. Specifically, the Mystic Eyes of Enchantment. Flashing gold, these allow Arcueid to gain control of her opponents through mind control, and even plant subliminal messages into people’s minds. Sharingan be damned.

MegaSonic: She also developed an attack designed specifically to one-up Shiki’s cutting her into 17 pieces where she restrains them and cuts them in 18 pieces, because for as upbeat and friendly as Arcueid presents herself, she’s also incredibly petty when she wants to be.

Sharaku: Hell, Arcueid can even drop a replica of the Moon on your ass with Blut die Schwester: Blood Sisters. Sure, use the moon as a projectile, why don’t ya? Also, if Arcueid is ever in a pinch, she can draw energy from the Counter Force. It sounds like an 80’s space shooter, but it’s really the energy of the planet Earth itself. Damn, guess you could say she’s really EarthBound.

Arcueid Abilities (2)

MegaSonic: As the last and strongest True Ancestor, Gaia itself will always supply Arcueid with additional power, allowing her to always match and surpass any opponent she may be facing. She can manifest this as an “Event Storage”, where she absorbs the power of the planet to store the “Texture” of the planet to gain more power, but her more notable and strongest ability is her Marble Phantasm, the ability to create and overwrite reality itself.

Sharaku: With the Marble Phantasm, Arcueid becomes practically unstoppable. Hell, just its presence alone can turn the air into a vacuum. While she normally has a limiter on it, it can be removed for her to gain access to more overwhelming power. One of the ways in which she uses the Marble Phantasm is to summon the very mansion that the True Ancestors lived in, the Millenium Castle Brunestud.

MegaSonic: But more practically, she can use it to trap opponents in small pockets of reality, manipulate the very world around herself and others, creating whole cities on a whim, and trap foes within constructs before eviscerating them into a bloody smear, which is exactly what she did to Roa when she and Shiki finally caught up to him, and he had manifested as a living person not possessing Shiki.

Sharaku: Marble Phantasm can even be used to alter probability itself. Basically, as long as it’s within the scope of nature as well as Arcueid’s imagination, she’ll be able to pull off damn near any kind of phenomena.

MegaSonic: And together, alongside Shiki and the Holy Church agent Ciel, they successfully ended Roa’s cycle of reincarnation for good, allowing Arcueid to regain her full power and end her need to consume blood. That said, she can still tap into her berserker form, or “Red Arcueid” under certain conditions that causes her to stop holding back, but also forces her to release her full Vampiric Impulses she normally suppresses through sheer willpower.

Sharaku: Yeah, uh, Red Arcueid is… well, nuts. Pretty much losing any sense of self, she flies into violent rages, and will rip anyone who gets close to her to shreds. Unhinged, she gains massive boosts to her stats as her full potential as a True Ancestor is unleashed. That probably isn’t pleasant.

Arcueid Feats

MegaSonic: While Arcueid has never truly succumbed to her berserk self, it was recreated as a separate entity by Night of Wallachia during the events of Melty Blood. Even stranger is that afterwards, Arcueid’s body was overtaken by a being known as Archetype: Earth, who gave us a peek at what happens Arcueid goes full power. Turns out, it involves literally bending space and reality itself to overpower effectively any opponent. The only person who could stop Archetype: Earth? Arcueid herself…yeah. They fought in her mind. Figure that one out.

Sharaku: Self-motivation at its finest, ladies and gentlemen. While Archetype: Earth is technically another entity in Arcueid’s body going all out, Arcueid herself still has full access to her own power, as it’s just her being possessed and going all out. Thus, Arcueid should be able to scale to Archetype: Earth’s power without much difficulty.

MegaSonic: Yeah, if you couldn’t tell, Arcueid is basically unstoppable. She’s powerful enough to effortlessly affect the planet by getting serious, and is capable of resisting almost any kind of weapon so long as she’s aware of its existence. Even conceptual weapons like Ciel’s Black Keys or the reality overwriting Gae Bolg can’t keep her down. And, as a True Ancestor, Arcueid exists on the level of and above Divine Spirits and Constructs. She even directly compared herself to Artoria Pendragon’s Excalibur when they fought. Because they did that.

Sharaku: Not only that, but Arcueid is also one of the only beings able to bring Amaterasu, a Divine Fox Spirit unbound by time itself, down to a level where it’s possible to defeat her.

MegaSonic: She even matched the Servants Archer EMIYA, Umu Saber Nero, and Tamamo-No-Mae, Amaterasu’s reincarnation, who all later went on to match BB in power, another Divine Spirit-tier being who could control the infinite multiverse of the Moon Cell and existed beyond time and space.

Sharaku: All of this leads to one solid conclusion…Arcueid is beyond any form of meaningful comprehension. Her power cannot be measured, calced, or definitively placed because she will always match and surpass her opponent. I mean, that’s literally her ability.

MegaSonic: And yet, despite holding the power of the cosmos at her fingertips, she ultimately found that what she really wanted in life was to enjoy it. To live with Shiki and his friends, to experience his cooking, to enjoy a date with him. She may be the immortal princess of the True Ancestors, but her life among humans is the one she chooses to embrace. So be warned, to all who may lurk in the night, for those who threaten the home and friends of Arcueid Brunestud will face a death more painful than you could possibly imagine.

Arcueid: "By nothing else, and by no one else. He is going to be killed by me."

Vampire Hunter D Raises a Gale in DEATH BATTLE![]

Sharaku: In the far flung future of 14,000 AD, humanity have fucked themselves over hard. In their never-ending wisdom, humans ended up causing a nuclear war that lasted for ages. But when the dust finally settled, creatures of the night took advantage of human’s weaknesses. Vampires ruled the Earth. Known as the Nobility and led by the Sacred Ancestor, vampires would do whatever they pleased. Their technology was unparalleled. Their power, overwhelming. And somehow… they too began to feel a decline. While the actual details are shrouded in mystery, it’s speculated that due to the Sacred Ancestor disappearing, there was no leader for the vampires to follow. Falling into disorganization, the Nobility’s numbers declined, only existing in certain pockets around the world.

MegaSonic: I’m gonna have to ask you to back the fuuuuuuuck up for a second as I try to wrap my head around technology vampires taking over the world leads to Dracula having a Vampire Hunting kid who is known by a singular letter? The fuck is this, Castlevania?

Sharaku: That leads me into another reason why the Nobility began to die out. Bounty Hunters began to crop up all over the world. Taking on jobs that no ordinary human would, their incredible power would be enough to drive back much of the Nobility. And, ironically enough, one of these Hunters… is one of their own. Half-human, half-vampire, he is a Dhampir. Feared by all, tortured and alone, he is… the Vampire Hunter… D.

D Section 1 (Sharaku)

MegaSonic: Well, weirdest possible name choice aside, D is a mysterious being, the only son of the Sacred Ancestor who’s survived the past ten thousand years, probably because he just slaughtered all the others. This man cleans house about as fast as Dante does, like this shit is basically “Vampires May Cry”.

Sharaku: Wandering the wastelands of the world, D is basically ageless, and will remain at his physical peak for the rest of time. Experimented on by his father and vampire scientists, D escaped, and has regularly been hunting down the Nobility. We know he had a mother, but it’s honestly pretty vague what happened to her. But, we can speculate that perhaps his hatred for his own kind stems from her death, potentially at the hands of a Noble.

D Section 2 (Sharaku)

MegaSonic: God damn this shit really is DMC, and just like a certain white haired Devil Slayer, D is an unstoppable one man army of Vampire Slaying badassery. He’s got absurd strength, speed, and endurance. He can regenerate from nearly any wound, and can even cancel out other’s regeneration by cutting their Founts of Life.

Sharaku: The Fount of Life is a special, spiritual essence that basically encompasses everything about a person. Their blood, personality, and even their very own concepts. Yes, D can literally cut through your concepts. He’s even tanked his own attacks that were reflected back at him that severed his own Fount of Life… but he just decided to keep going. Yeah, man’s literally just tanking concept-slicing attacks. As you do.

MegaSonic: Dear god we’re only on page one of this analysis and I already have so many questions on HOW THE FUCK-!? But uh, he also has the typical Vampire abilities of being able to bite people to enslave them, and his Seven Senses allow him to see through illusions, dreams, and even speak with ghosts… somehow. Like that’s not even related to the other two abilities, why is that included?

Sharaku: D’s also got his own Aura. This passive energy force that irradiates from D’s body can paralyze the toughest of enemies. His aura was stated to be even more powerful than the Destroyer’s own aura. Keep in mind that he was able to completely no-sell an energy blast from the Big Bang Accelerator, a machine which had the power to completely destroy and recreate a Universe.

D Section 3 (Sharaku)

MegaSonic: He has telepathy and telekinesis, acidic blood, the willpower to overcome mental attacks, possesions, and illusions, and…Gay Manipulation? Is… is that a typo? That can’t be right.

Sharaku: No, no, I put that there. Wanna know why? BECAUSE IT’S TRUE. Apparently his looks can attract men and women alike, and as fucking hilarious as it sounds, some dudes have even said that looking at him makes them wanna be a girl.

MegaSonic: I can’t tell if that’s progressive, insensitive…or somehow both at the same time?

Sharaku: Well, it was written in the 80’s, so I’d say… probably both.

D Section 4 (Sharaku)

MegaSonic: Okay, well… he can also copy the powers of others like some sort of Vampic Mega Man, interact with incorporeal beings like ghosts, manipulate matter, space and time, and even continuously rise in power day by day, because fuck balance and reasonable power progression I guess.

Sharaku: These books feel like they were written by every Shonen writer imaginable, all of them on the most dangerous of drugs. Anyways, D can create dimensional rifts by slicing with his sword, close portals, and can even cut through holograms, fog, and nothingness itself. Yeah. He can uh… do that.

D Section 5 (Sharaku)

MegaSonic: And then there’s his Left Hand, which for some reason, has a parasite attached to it that’s both sentient, and fucking talks, grants him the ability to control minds, travel through space, time, and other dimensions, and can absorb dreams and the escences of death… why the fuck are we doing this matchup again?

Sharaku: Just wait for the fight, trust me. Anyways, in addition to those abilities mentioned above, Lefty can also resurrect D should he be destroyed, use the elements of Water, Earth, Fire and Air like some kind of parasitic Avatar, control Gravity, drain people’s life forces, summon Spirits and control people like puppets. Wait, I feel like I’ve made that kind of joke before…

D Section 6 (Sharaku)

MegaSonic: And aside from all that bullshit, he’s got a longsword he carries as his primary weapon, that can apparently be stretched to the length of literal infinity. Oh, and he travels on a CYBORG HORSE! Because that makes sense!

Sharaku: D carries a Combat Belt, which hosts a wide variety of other weapons at his disposal. His Wooden Needles are foot long pieces of driftwood that have been sharpened enough to pierce through armor. Perfect for quick kills on Vampires. His Blue Pendant can pretty much hack into and disable most electronics with ease, and his Chameleon Suit can hide him from sight instantly, basically making him invisible to the human eye.

MegaSonic: His Caltrops can pierce the scales of Dragons, he can disorient foes with the Fog of Misdirection, shield himself from elemental damage with the Nobility Blanket, and if for some reason all of that isn’t enough for him to kill someone, he can say “screw holding back” and bust out his Devil Trigger- I mean Full Vampire Form!

D Section 7 (Sharaku)

Sharaku: In his Full Vampire Form, D taps into the full potential of his Nobility ancestry and goes berserk. Where have I heard that before? D’s been able to completely trash opponents that were previously stronger than him in base, but it comes at the cost of being very thirsty for blood, and D will usually subdue the form himself in order to not lose himself and his humanity.

MegaSonic: The Miracle Bloodlight is a special red light emitted from D’s eyes, which allow him to bypass and negate the true immortality of the Nobility and evolutionary based abilities and resistances of others. And with the Light of Creation, he can call upon the most pure and holy light in existence to smite the most evil of beings and bring light and warmth to the most cold of places, like some sort of Vampire god… which he honestly may as well be at this point.

D Section 8 (Sharaku)

Sharaku: You haven’t seen anything yet. By far the most powerful thing in D’s massive arsenal of skills, weapons and abilities… are the Akashic Records. Existing in a higher dimension that transcends 4D space-time as well as the infinite Multiverse, these Records contain everything that exists, will exist and has ever existed within them. The people who can use the Records literally ascend to a higher plane of being and essentially view the normal universe as just pages of a story that can be altered at whim. With these, D can control aspects of space, time, the laws of the universe themselves, rewrite fate, erase people from existence on a conceptual level and can even rewrite the plot of his own stories. No joke, at one point later in the series, he rewrote the entirety of his journey so that his allies survived without ever once meeting him. And as they contain a record of everything across time, when D reads these, he’ll pretty much be able to discern anything that will happen across infinity. And since his name isn't even in the Records, D is immune to all of its effects.

MegaSonic: …that’s fucking stupid. Who decided this shit was okay!? How the fuck does someone just wake up and decided “My protagonist is so strong he literally has the script to the story he’s in and can rewrite it whenever he please because fuck logic and stakes”!?

Sharaku: Well, after 32 novels and nearly 36 years of writing, D kinda just kept getting stronger. Granted, it’s all earned as he’s pretty much been suffering for years and is essentially perpetually depressed.

MegaSonic: So he really is just Dante. Alright, I take some of it back, he has kind of earned all that absurd power given how op he’d have to be to not die to the enemies he faces.

Sharaku: Oho, yeah. Nearly every enemy he encounters is either mundane as fuck or is a nigh-unstoppable being who holds control over an aspect of reality itself. You kinda need to be fucking stupid powerful to live in a world where people can murder you with their presence alone. Speaking of which…

D Section 9 (Sharaku)

MegaSonic: The dude has absorbed the power of the Astral Realm, rewrote his story without any paradoxes or plot holes, crossed an INFINITE DISTANCE all to kill one dude, and even reached the level of the Sacred Ancestor, gaining true omnipresence and becoming the literal most unstoppable thing to ever exist.

Sharaku: He’s overcame someone’s own resistances to his abilities, multiple times, and has fought against people who have, like we said before, taken shots from a universe-nuking machine. Additionally, the Astral Realm contains an infinitely-sized gate, and D was able to absorb the power of it all with his will alone. And once he gained access to the Akashic Records after years of fighting, he was able to transcend the infinite multiverse and reach a level unlike anything ever seen. And yet… despite all of his overwhelming power, he still cannot prevent his own solitude. For it is self-imposed. He knows that if anything else like him were to ever exist, they too would be forever alone. So he will continue to hunt down his own kind for the rest of time. Not just to make up for their atrocious sins, but to prove that he, a Dhampir, can find purpose too.

MegaSonic: And so, no matter where, no matter when, the creatures of the night will eternally fear the Vampire Hunter… D.

D: “Your time is coming to an end. Your kind must face extinction. You cannot survive; you must die. That is the law of nature!”

Carmilla: “Ah, very strong words for a Dhampir. But you seem to forget. Our spirits are eternal!”

D: “No, Carmilla. Nothing lasts forever.”

Pre-Battle[]

MegaSonic: Alright the combatants are set, it’s time to end this debate once and for all.

Sharaku: It’s time for a DEATH BATTLE!

Fight!![]

Location - Tsukihime Universe - Misaki Town’s Park

Time: 9:45 PM

The cold air of the night flows onwards, brushing through the hair of the Princess of the True Ancestors, Arcueid Brunestud, as she sits patiently waiting for Shiki to arrive and meet her for a date. As she looks to the sky and watches the clouds, she can’t help but smile when watching the moon.

And then, the air freezes, and the water running through the fountain a few feet away solidifies completely. Arcueid looks over, her curiosity peaking as a rift opens, and someone emerges. Riding atop what appeared to be a mechanical steed, a man on an eternal crusade against the monsters of the night, the Vampire Hunter D, appeared.

Standing up, Arcueid immediately took notice of the man’s composure. An unnatural aura seemed to irradiate from him. It was familiar, and yet different all the same. But, one thing was for sure. This man was some kind of vampire.

Cue - The Dark Lords by Brandon Yates

Arcueid: Oh? And who might you be? You certainly aren’t a True Ancestor…I didn’t think the power to traverse dimensions was something a normal Dead Apostle such as yourself could just obtain. Not even Roa was that powerful…

As if responding, a voice spoke up, not coming from D’s mouth, but from his left hand. Lifting his arm up, the Hunter looked at the face-shaped parasite on the inside of his palm.

Left Hand: Hey, check it out, D. Looks like this world has different terms for guys like you. Well, I suppose it’s all the same in the end, right?

Nodding slightly, D shifted his arm down. Getting off of the mechanical steed in one swift motion, he stared down the True Ancestor. Silently, he spoke in a calm manner, almost as if he felt no fear whatsoever. Arcueid took notice of this and her eyes began to narrow.

D: The way you carry yourself… you seem to have boundless confidence in yourself if you’re walking around in an open place such as this.

Arcueid: I’m not sure who you think you are, but I’m not leaving if that’s what you're asking me to do. I made a promise to Shiki…and I intend to stay with him.

Taking a step forwards, Arcueid raised her right hand as she rested her left one on her waist, the droplets of rain falling from the clouds above freezing solid from the cold aura of both Vampires.

D: I came to this world because I sensed something unlike anything I’ve seen. Your power could easily destroy this universe thousands of times over. It is my job to kill those such as yourself.

Arcueid: Funny, I was going to say the same thing.

Arcueid Brunestud VS Vampire Hunter D Fight (Sharaku)

In a sudden flash, less than a second even, Arcueid appeared before D with her fist drawn back, and the same amount of blistering speed was all that was needed for Arcueid to slam said fist into D’s chest and send him flying backwards.

Spinning through the air, D turned himself back and landed on the ground. With blinding speed, he reached for the longsword sheathed on his back and drew it. Shining through the darkness and cutting through the fog, he dashed at Arcueid, swinging the blade.

Extending her right hand out, Arcueid opened her fist as claws formed from her fingers and she swung the hand forwards, using her claws to block D’s sword, magic sparks flying out from the collision before Arcueid took the advantage by swinging her left hand around to slash D right across the chest, opening a clear wound as blood drops to the ground. Arcueid flicked the blood off of her fingers and retracted her claws. D however, stood up almost immediately and successfully cut open Arcueid’s own chest, her own blood spilling onto the ground.

Arcueid staggered backwards as she glanced down at the open wound on her chest, almost disappointed by how basic the injury was as her body pulled itself back together and her shirt magically reformed. She glanced upwards, and saw D had done the same to his wound, and she and D’s Left Hand spoke in unison.

Arcueid/Left Hand: It seems this won’t be an ordinary night after all.

Leaping up into the air, D’s shadowed image tossed out long needles made out of wood, burning from the sheer speed at which he threw them. Flying through the air, the blazing wooden needles each stuck themselves into Arcueid’s chest, but she just grabbed and threw them away, more annoyed than hurt, as she leaped into the air after D and spun around before swinging her leg to kick him back down.

Hitting the ground, D raised Left Hand into the air. Opening its mouth, the parasite spewed thick clouds of heavy fog from its maw. Within moments, the entire park was covered in nothing but mist. Clouded from view, Arcueid casually looked around for the Hunter, not worried in the slightest.

Arcueid: So, what’s your plan here, exactly? Disorient me so much I give up? Well, there’s nowhere for you to run, monster.

Turning behind her and extending her claws, she immediately cut through D’s body once again. Or at least, what she thought was his body, as D’s visage faded away into the mist. That got her attention.

Arcueid: Afterimages, huh? Good change of pace from the mindless zombies.

Pressing the heel of her right foot into the ground, vines sprouted from all around Arcueid before they shot off into the fog in various directions, Arcueid closing her eyes as she focused on the plants she was controlling.

Suddenly, one of the vines snatched onto D, wrapping itself around his parasitic left arm, something said parasite didn’t much appreciate.

Left Hand: Hey! Let go, you damn grapevine!

Cue - Olympus Mons [Instrumental] by Brandon Yates

Opening its mouth, the Left Hand suddenly breathed out a small burst of fire to ignite and burn away the vine, but even within the thick fog, the fire was just bright enough to give away their position. Arcueid smirked, and launched herself forwards, elbow out as she slammed it into D’s sword, the Vampire having raised it just in time to block her strike.

Arcueid: Are you okay!?

But, Arcueid suddenly threw her left hand forwards, punching D in the face as she released a blast of mana from her hand to launch D off of his feet and into the ground. The impact of the attack not only shattered the concrete that the Hunter landed into, but sent a shockwave that completely blew away the Fog of Misdirection that Left Hand had released. Rising to his feet and brushing off minor debris, D drew his longsword once more and prepared himself.

Left Hand: Hey, D, now might be a good time to start hitting back with the good stuff!

D: It seems like the usual methods will not be useful. Looks like we’ll have to risk more destruction to this place.

Left Hand: Yeah, but what’s a couple million dollars in property damage?

Arcueid: Eyes on me!

As D and Left Hand were conversing, Arcueid had leaped through the air, claws extended out as she slashed both of her hands down to strike D’s head clean off, but instead he swing his sword and countered Arcueid’s attack, turning her momentum around so she would crash into the ground.

D: My turn.

Moving fast, D sped around Arcueid as she got back onto her feet, then rushed in and slashed her across the chest again, then her back, then quickly stabbed her through the heart before she could react. Almost immediately after D removed his sword from Arcueid’s midsection, he was met with a fist directly to his chin as he was sent staggering back.

Arcueid: Quick one, aren’t you? I dunno how you kill vampires back where you’re from, but you don’t just stop by stabbing them through the heart. You do this!

Rushing in with unparalleled speed, Arcueid, extending her claws, completely tore into the Vampire Hunter. Limb from limb, the True Ancestor wildly ripped through D’s body and clothes, his parts falling into pieces with a disgusting sound and blood staining the concrete walkway below them. Arcueid sighed, almost disappointed in how quickly the fight had ended once she had started having fun.

And then-

D: We’re not finished.

Arcueid let out a pained grunt as D’s sword pierced her chest once again, but this time the thrust that penetrated her was much harsher, more painful. D was far beyond dead, looking as he did before Arcueid ripped him apart. Gripping his longsword with both hands, D turned and swung it with great force, sending Arcueid flying off into the horizon.

Left Hand: Get the hell outta here!!

As Arcueid was flung across Misaki Town, her flying body could be seen by many people just minding their own business, including the one who was heading to meet Arcueid in the first place, that being one very confused Shiki Tohno.

Shiki: …What the fu-

Arcueid violently crashed through several buildings before she finally landed on the ground, making a decently sized crater in the middle of the street, her body feeling more sore than anything else once her wounds started healing.

Arcueid: Ciel’s going to be even more pissed at me now. Don’t know how she plans to cover all that up…maybe a gas leak?

Suddenly, D appeared before in the blink of an eye, thrusting his longsword down directly into Arcueid’s skull without saying a word when…

Music Stops.

The sword bounced off the head of some kind of weird creature, a chibi cat-like copy of Arcueid, one that was staring directly at D with a stare so creepy, even Left Hand lost his composure.

Left Hand: What the fuck is that thing!?

Neco-Arc: Mununyyuuunnn!

Arcueid: Why…does it look like me?

Cue - Roar of The Heaven & Earth - Fate/Stay Night 2006 Anime

Even D, despite saying nothing, was quite puzzled. However, Arcueid took this opportunity to slam her fist into D’s body, sending him crashing out the building, ironically similar to how Arcueid was launched before. Jumping after him and leaving a big crater due to the impact of her leap, Arcueid soared through the air. Regaining his balance while in midair, the Vampire Hunter turned towards the True Ancestor.

Left Hand: Time you had a taste of your own medicine!

D’s other hand suddenly extended forward, creating claws of his own enshrouded in blue energy. Arcueid, noticing this, was surprised, but extended her claws once more. Clashing against each other through the sky, D retracted his newly-acquired claws. Swinging at him with her talons, D suddenly phased through Arcueid’s attack, becoming momentarily intangible. Now behind Arcueid, D planted a solid ax kick into her back, launching her away.

Arcueid: Stealing abilities, now? Didn’t think Dead Apostles could have any other cheap abilities.

Flipping through the air, the gravity around Arcueid’s feat gathered and invited itself as Arcueid activated her Event Storage, launching her through the air like she was flying freely. Flying back at D, Arcueid raised her left hand to grab D’s Longsword and pulled him in closer, allowing her to get to her real target.

The Left Hand, which she yanked off of D’s body in one clean pull, Left Hand himself letting out a pained scream as he was separated from his partner before he released a blast of fire into Arcueid’s face.

Left Hand: You bitch!

Arcueid: Piss off!

Promptly throwing Left Hand down towards the ground, Arcueid pressed her assault on the now literally one-armed D, slashing with her claws to keep him on the defensive. D was able to successfully block most of the strikes, but many of them reached through due to the temporary loss of Left Hand. Grabbing D by the throat, Arcueid effectively choke-slammed D through the air. Tumbling through the sky, both fighters hit the ground hard enough to cause a crater akin to a meteor strike. Getting up, Arcueid noticed they were in some kind of clearing outside of the town. Well, at least it’d be easier for the authorities to clean up the damage here.

Arcueid: Ready to give up now? You're clearly… disarmed.

Chuckling at her own joke, D wordlessly got up and slashed with his sword through the open air. Cutting through seemingly nothing, a glowing rift in what was assumedly space and time itself opened up. Reaching through, D grabbed the emaciated Left Hand, whose face was lying on the street on the other side of the portal. Reattaching his companion to his arm, the dimensional rift closed shortly after.

Left Hand: Thanks. Man, people need to clean that street.

Arcueid: Oh hey, I can do that too!

A smirk on her face, Arcueid slashed the air before her and created a second rift in time and space, or rather a third as the rift’s other side was right behind D, and she promptly stabbed her claws into the back of his neck before yanking him through and slamming his face into the ground. Repeatedly. Hard enough to start drawing blood.

Arcueid: How’s the dirt taste, bastard!?

Left Hand: Better than the street, at least. Now, D!

The grounded D quickly tossed an iron sphere studded with spikes, embedding itself into Arcueid’s shoulder. Yanking the caltrops from her arm, this action caused her slight distraction, as D, in the blink of an eye, sliced diagonally across Arcueid’s entire body. However, as quickly as he cut through the True Ancestor, her healing abilities were still as good as ever. Shoving D off of her, she made a confident smile.

Arcueid: Alright, it’s been fun, really. But it’s time I wrapped this up. I gotta get back to the park.

Thrusting her arms outwards, a blue ring encompassed the area of their fighting for a split second before Arcueid pressed her attack with a swing of her claws as she angled the attack upwards, leaping into the air as she did. An attack that D easily paired as he unveiled three more caltrops, throwing them forwards into Arcueid’s chest, following up with a single swing of his sword that rendered her body cut into 17 pieces. The pieces, much like how D was cut earlier, fell to the ground with a sickening splat.

Pause Music.

It was over…

Except, a blue box contained the illusion D was trapped inside, Arcueid holding it in her hands. Her Marble Phantasm. With a raise of her hand and swing of her claw, D’s entire body was obliterated in one clean attack, the grass within the Marble Phantasm stained with blood.

Arcueid: Well, that was fun. But not even someone like Roa or Nrvnqsr could come back from that.

Cue - Decisive Battle - JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders OST

However, before deactivating the Marble Phantasm, she noticed something. Something was up with the grass. The wind was blowing, sure. But the movements seemed unnatural. Almost immediately, the blood that was left of D’s body reformed, becoming whole once more. D adjusted his hat before raising Left Hand. Arcueid, looking through the Marble Phantasm, had no idea how to interpret what the hell just happened. Within the dimension of illusion, D called out to his parasitic companion.

D: I need your help to swallow this spell.

Left Hand: You’re a real slave driver, you know that?

Opening his mouth, the parasite completely swallowed the Marble Phantasm’s dimension. The illusion Arcueid held in her hands completely shattered as D leapt out of it and kicked the True Ancestor in the chest, sending her stumbling back.

D: And you didn’t notice her illusion sooner, because…?

Left Hand: Hey, cut me some slack! That was new to me too! This lady’s more crazy strong than anyone we’ve ever faced. And I’m not sure what’s worse, the fact she hasn’t used her full power yet, or the fact I can feel the same infinite power you have coming from her.

Arcueid: Y’know I can hear everything, right?

D: And?

Arcueid: Still sure of yourself, huh? I'm not sure how to really interpret you breaking out of the Marble Phantasm, but after seeing that, I know I can't let your soul remain in this world.

D: Hm. Looks like simply cutting your physical body won't work. I'll have to go even further.

Arcueid: What are you even talking about? You got some kind of Concept Weapon concealed on you?

D: I suppose.

Cue - Dangerous Gaze - TehGM Remix

The sound of blood spilling could suddenly be heard as D stabbed his Longsword through Arcueid’s chest, then pulling back as he unleashed a flurry of high-speed slashes to cut down her defenses and conceptually strike down her Fount of Life.

Left Hand: D! I don’t think it’s working!

Scowling slightly, D starts striking faster and faster, fast enough his sword becomes impossible to see as he tears through Arcueid’s body…until she grabs the blade of his sword, red eyes glowing as her hair flies upwards from the pressure she was emitting. Now, her Berserk side was ready to play.

Red Arcueid: Cute! My turn!

Shoving her clawed hand through D’s chest, Arcueid ripped his heart out and crushed it before she started slashing his body with all her might, letting blood pain the grass red before she leaped backwards into the air and three three disks of razor sharp energy, slicing D’s body apart as he had attempted to do to her. Reforming instantly, D landed back in the ground, taking a more defensive stance with his longsword.

Red Arcueid: So, how many times are you gonna keep coming back like that? It's really starting to piss me off!

D: As many times as you do the same.

Arcueid flicks both of her forwards and throws two more energy waves forwards, followed before two more, and yet two more after that. Spamming a barrage of them down on D to keep him from attacking. D, merely annoyed, raises Left Hand and lets the parasite consume the energy disks, chew them for a moment, and then spit them back out as a Big Bang… kind of Attack. Arcueid easily deflected the rebounded attack and vanished, appearing behind D, ready to slam into him with both of her fists brought together. However, D was able to react in time, and thus parried the blow with his longsword. As if mimicking Arcueid’s moves, he vanished behind her and swung downward with his sword.

And again, Arcueid blocked the sword by grabbing it with both of her hands, then uppercutted her fist to launch him into the air before leaping after him, stabbing her claws into D’s chest as he stabbed his sword through hers, to which Arcueid then just pulled her head back and headbutted D straight in the nose.

At an impasse once again, the two circled each other, waiting for who would make the next move. Arcueid was the one to act first, as she dashed towards D with blinding speed. The Hunter did the same, and Arcueid extended her claws out once more. As D swung the sword, the True Ancestor swiped the blade out of his hands completely by cutting through his right hand, sending the sword spiraling away. However, this did not deter D, as he merely placed his hand on the ground. Manipulating the matter in the ground itself, the environment warped itself to D's very need. Creating a curve for his sword to bounce back to him, D caught his blade and slashed off one of Arcueid’s arms in one smooth motion, quicker than the speed of light. The resulting kinetic force caused the grass around the two fighters to ignite into flames.

Red Arcueid: That’s enough!!

Swinging her still attached arm, Arcueid released three waves of energy along the ground one by one, each one shaking the planet itself as D tried to block the attacks, but between focusing on defense and manipulating the planet to keep it from taking any real damage, he was left wide open for Arcueid to force him into one spot by manipulating gravity to hold him down, allowing her to run forwards and punch him upwards. Flying through the air, a shadow was suddenly cast over D, and he turned around to see…

Left Hand: IS THAT THE MOON!?

A replica of the moon burning up on reentry falling directly on top of them. Even for D’s standards, it was quite a surprise. But nothing he couldn't handle, as one swing of the longsword completely cut through the fake moon, obliterating it, splitting the clouds above them as the blue moon shone down on both vampires.

Cue - Rules of Nature [Instrumental - Metal Gear Rising OST]

Below, as the moon's blue rays washed over Arcueid, the glowing of her red eyes died down as she took a deep breath to calm down. Reattaching her arm, she leaped through the air after D and charged directly at him, punching him in the gut as both vampires flew through the upper atmosphere.

Arcueid: Marble Phantasm!

And then, in a blue flash, the two of them appeared on the surface of the moon as Arcueid dunked D down onto it with a hefty slam. In the vacuum of space, the impact was soundless. But the destruction was anything but unnoticeable, as a new crater on the Moon was made. D, climbing out of the crater, took in his new surroundings. Adjusting the physics of the moon was no large task for D. Now he and Left Hand could hear each other speak, but conversely, so could Arcueid.

Left Hand: Alright D, I know we’ve seen some crazy ass shit, but this might just take the cake. It might just be time to go all out.

D: You know as well as I do that my full power isn’t something to bring out lightly.

Left Hand: Oh yeah sure, but does other-dimensional reality warping sound “light” to you?! You may not care if you die, but becoming nothing more than a smear on the ground is not a lifelong ambition of mine.

Across from the two, Arcueid raised her hand and began altering the reality of the moon itself, her hair growing out as her dress changed, and she entered the true form of True Ancestor’s Princess. She unleashed the power of Archetype Earth.

Arcueid: Begone.

Raising a hand and pointing it at D, a concentrated beam of crimson mana charged into her palm before she fired it, ripping up the surface of the moon to completely disintegrate D in one clean shot, not even ashes left behind. Of course, nothing like this could truly hold the Vampire Hunter down forever, as a pulsating blue light - a soul - gathered itself from the empty space around the Moon’s orbit and reformed fully into D. Plummeting towards the Moon’s surface, the Hunter lunged straight for the True Ancestor. Landing on the ground, D vanished in an instant and appeared behind Arcueid, readying his longsword. However, Arcueid didn’t even need to turn around, as D’s sword bounced off some invisible force, sending it spiraling away. Turning around, the Ancestor pressed her hand directly against D’s chest and completely evaporated the Hunter’s body once more.

And yet, the Vampire Hunter’s body reformed itself from nothing, D raised his right hand in the same manner as Arcueid had moments ago, gathering an aura of light within it before he unleashed the Light of Creation, blasting Arcueid head on with it…only for her to simply start walking through it, barely phased by the holy attack.

Left Hand: D, I don’t think that’s worki-

Before Left Hand could even finish, chains emerged from the Moon’s surface and bound D’s arms to his side, forcing him to kneel down on the ground. The Moon’s reality began to charge, and the Millennium Castle Brunestud formed around the two of them. The Castle’s chains continued to ensnare D, ensuring he would never be free of the Castle’s hold.

Arcueid: This is over. You’ve lost.

Saying nothing, the Hunter struggled against the chains, but the more he struggled, the more the metal burned into his skin, searing his flesh. The ground beneath him cracked from the sheer pressure that D exerted, but to no avail. These chains were something else entirely. Despite the fact that sound could still be heard on the Moon, from D’s perspective, everything began to fade away. Not just sounds, but even his sight. Opening his mouth, the Dhampir let out an ungodly roar. The pain turned into rage. His vision swam. All he could see was red. Opening his mouth, his otherwise ordinary teeth elongated into fangs. His eyes glowed a fierce red. And in one single instant, the chains completely atomized themselves and shattered away. Electricity ripped its way across the Moon, blowing dust and stone everywhere. D had also gone off the figurative deep end, and his Full Vampire form was in its full swing.

Arcueid: I see…so you too have a dark side you control. It seems we are more alike than I first thought. Perhaps this fight could have been avoided, but now? I’ll simply put you out of your misery, before you are lost completely.

Leaping into action, Arcueid manipulated the space around them that brought her Castle to them in the first place, tearing open several small holes in reality that she started throwing energy waves through, and the projectiles started spewing out from all sides around D to overwhelm him. But of course, at full power D could charge through the attacks with no problem. Leaping through one of the holes and out at Arcueid to attack the True Ancestor directly with his now bolstered strength, as he could now contend with her physically once more.

Forgetting about his sword in his rage, D opted to completely go on physical offense, slamming his fist directly into Arcueid’s midsection, sending her flying out of the Castle and spiraling across the moon. Leaping after her, causing another hole in the Castle’s walls, the Hunter threw out a massive barrage of hits, blow after blow causing Arcueid’s physical appearance to get more and more bloody. But as soon as blood was drawn, the second her body healed. Even in his enraged state, D knew that physicality wasn’t going to be enough to settle this. Straining his senses, he kicked Arcueid directly into the Moon’s ground, and, while flying in the air, drew his longsword once more. Imbuing it with magical energy, the sword expanded. Further and further, the sword extended indefinitely into the cosmos above. With a roar, in one move, D swung the impossibly huge sword and sliced the Moon completely in half, obliterating Arcueid’s body along with it. The two halves of the celestial body not only drifted apart, but shattered entirely from the sheer force of the swing.

A second passed.

The moon returned to normal, completely repaired, any damage D had done to it was instantly undone. Arcueid, looming behind D, grabbed the bloodlusted and enraged Dhampir and released a pulse that blasted him away, sending him down from the cosmos and back towards the Earth. Flying after him, her white dress flapping as the two of the re-entered the Planet’s Atmosphere, Arcueid’s eyes glowed gold for a moment as she activated her Mystic Eyes of Enchantment, hoping that D’s lack of control in his Full Vampire form would leave him vulnerable to her mental attack.

At the same time D turned back towards Arcueid as his eyes glowed red for a second, activating the Miracle Bloodlight to disable her immortality. Their eyes glowed at the same time, flashed…and nothing happened. They’d completely canceled each other out. Or were they just so revolved from limited they naturally resisted the other’s attempts to exploit a potential weakness. At this point, did it even matter?

Shinobi 3 - Whirlwind (Metal version)

Time seemed to freeze around them, as their speed increased beyond any kind of comprehensible or quantifiable number. Fighting faster than light, no, faster than time itself, the two vampires began to unleash everything at their disposal. Arcueid fired multiple spiral red bursts from her hand, but D, now having fully gained control of his rage, clasped his hands. Creating miniature black holes around him, the energy blasts dissipated. Arcueid, not going to be one-upped, threw out her arms. The black holes zoomed towards her and created one massive singularity which collapsed out of existence. D, bringing out his longsword once more, extended it far enough to cut the True Ancestor in two. However, along the cut, D created two gateways to other dimensions beyond the reaches of the universe they were currently in, effectively separating her two halves across separate timelines. The True Ancestor simply slashed open a portal of her own, and dragged her other half through, reattaching it.

For a moment, reality itself cracked. Around the two vampires, glimpses into other worlds could be seen. The world within the Moon Cell where a copy of Arcueid battling a Nameless Red Archer, a parallel variant of D battling a similar man in a red coat with white hair, a world where the Sword of Promised Victory clashed against the blade made from the fang of Naga, and a world that saw two children with the power to control reality just below them in a similar position to the one they were in now.

Finally, The Root, the Reverse Side of the World could be seen, where a Dragon and a Saint watch over a Holy Grail that would have been used to destroy another world. The Saint looks over and notices the two Vampires, but the cracks in reality close just as soon as they appear, and the glimpses into the other worlds are gone.

Blow after blow, ability after ability. Everything and everywhere in reality seemed to crumble apart and reform any time that the two combatants just so much as landed a hit on each other. Rising beyond any limit, both Vampires unleashed attacks that fundamentally changed their very own concepts of being, yet even something such as this could not bring them down. D sliced apart Arcueid’s own Fount of Life, her root concept, yet even something such as this did not deter her. Immediately after, D was completely erased in body, mind and soul, and came back just the same. Everything collapsed and recreated itself.

The Vampire Hunter decided that this had gone on for far too long. Any more escalation likely would lead to an infinite time loop of nothing but chaos and destruction. Surrounding himself in a blinding light that shone throughout the cosmos, a large volume appeared in D’s hands, pulsating with an otherworldly aura. Immediately, the Hunter felt his body and soul connect with everything in the multiverse and rise above it. Opening the Akashic Records, the Vampire Hunter quickly scanned through the accounts of space and time. Someone that matched Arcueid’s description had to be within there. After all, it’s not as if a vampire as powerful as her goes unnoticed. …Right?

Nothing. Just as he was, Arcueid was exempt from the Akashic Records, or as she knew it, The Throne of Heroes. She existed on his level of existence, beyond comprehension. Beyond logic and reasoning. Beyond death itself.

However, her exemption from the Records was not something to deter the Hunter. Changing the laws of reality was something casual for these two, so why not the laws of nature themselves? After all, why shouldn’t he mess with the plot of his own “story”?

But it wasn’t as simple as that. Altering her past could cause a splintering in the timeline. This multiverse wasn’t like his own. Changing the events of what happened long ago wouldn’t function. It wouldn’t be… a Moon Cell anymore. It’d be something entirely new. He had to affect the here and now. And he had to do it right now, because he had been reading the Records for a whole zero seconds, and Arcueid was getting wary of what he was doing.

And within the span of an attosecond, both vampires lunged forwards. D swung his Longsword, Arcueid slashed with her claws. The attacks hit perfectly, neither so much as attempting to block the other’s strike. After all, it hadn’t been necessary before, so why now? With their backs to each other, it took a few milliseconds for the results of their clash to comore apparent.

Left Hand fell from D’s body, falling off to some unknown part of the world as D’s body split into 18 pieces, while his soul, mind, and existence had all been split into and beyond non-existence. The same could be said for Arcueid, as D had cut into not 17, not even 18, but 19 pieces. Her own immunity to death was pushed to, and beyond, it’s limits.

Time finally seemed to move again as their remains started burning up on re-entry, finally crashing down back in the Misaki Town Park where their battle had begun mere moments ago. Truly, everything had come full circle.

For a moment, it seemed like a paradox had been achieved, when two immortals cash, it resulted in the death of them both. But it only seemed that way until D stood back up. To Arcueid’s credit, it actually took a moment for him to catch his balance. The world still shook, and Left Hand was still gone.

Turning around, D watched as the burnt and charred remains of the True Ancestor began to budge before they started glowing a bright blue aura, and Arcueid suddenly pulled herself back into existence, now wearing a short blue skirt instead of her long purple one. But while D still stood, Arcueid fell onto her back, pushing herself up into a sitting position, for she was too tired to get back up and resume fighting.

D had endured beyond death for just a moment longer than Arcueid could. And because of it, he had won.

Arcueid Brunestud VS Vampire Hunter D End (Sharaku)

Putting his still drawn sword away, he brushed his clothes off. Adjusting his hat, he offered his hand out to Arcueid, and she just stared up in surprise for a moment.

Arcueid: …just a moment ago you were trying to destroy me beyond existence. What changed, Vampire Hunter?

D: I wasn’t able to see all of who you are in the Akashic Records. But I did see something in my own way. In a sense, you are much like me. Something truly terrifying stirs within you. Something that you fight to keep from coming out. And yet you keep going, doing what you believe is the right thing to do, no matter the pain it can cause you. In that way, you and I are the same. That is something that I can respect. Keep fighting, Blue Moon. For your sake, and the sake of those you care about.

Arcueid: Huh…you’ve got more heart then any Dead Apostle. Really takes me back…to different times.

Holding one of her hands out, Arcueid accepted D’s hand as he pulled her back to her feet.

Arcueid: Right now, I just want to experience the life I missed before. If I can have that, maybe you could stand to lighten up a little.

D: A kind sentiment, but… I can’t.

Arcueid: Yeah yeah, wouldn’t want to drop the brooding act. Though… your talking buddy is still gone too. If you’d like, I could give you a hand in finding him.

D stared at Arcueid for a moment with the biggest deadpan expression ever thought possible before he turned and started walking back to his Robotic Horse. That was, until Arcueid spoke up again.

Arcueid: Oh! I never got your name!

The Vampire Hunter turned his head slightly backwards. Giving a minute smile, he spoke once more.

D: I’m a dhampir. Call me D.

Climbing atop his steed, the Hunter quickly opened a portal towards his next journey. As Arcueid watched the Dhampir vanish away into another reality, she reflected on what he told her. In a sense, his words pretty much reinforced her mindset. She had to keep fighting. Not just for the sake of herself, but those who she found dear. Otherwise, she risked losing it all. But she wasn’t planning on giving in any time soon.

A smile forming on her lips, Arcueid turned around as her lover and partner Shiki Tohno finally made it to the park.

Shiki: Arcueid! Arcueid, what the fuck happened!?

Arcueid: It’s…a long story.

K.O...?

Arcueid is seen going on her date with Shiki, while D, seemingly in some kind of desert, reattaches Left Hand.

Post-Analysis[]

MegaSonic: So…that just happened. Alright, uh, I’ll bite. What the fuck just happened and why is nobody dead?

Sharaku: Well uh… Let’s just say that this matchup had… a lot to go through.

MegaSonic: That much was certainly obvious, since both Arcueid and D could both rise to near infinite levels of power and had both the feats and statements to back it up, and both were so far removed from the concept of death itself they literally couldn’t die. Hell, they’re both removed from their respective version of the Akashic Records, putting them on even levels of bullshit “no u” immortality. This meant the devil was in the oh-so-tiny and damn near impossible to see details to find the victor in this match.

Sharaku: At their highest levels of power, D and Arcueid were essentially identical in levels of power to each other. Their most powerful abilities, the Akashic Records and the Marble Phantasm were perfect matches for each other. Hell, the same goes for speed as well. D crossing infinite distances and being able to essentially affect all places of time is generally even with Arcueid being able to stand against beings that transcended time itself.

MegaSonic: They could both manipulate gravity, resist each other’s mind control, affect the structure and reality of the planet around them, and even conceptual weapons had almost no effect on them. So then, I’m sure you’re asking, how the hell could either of them win, and why was it D?

Sharaku: To start out… as simple as this can get, D has years more experience than the True Ancestor. While it’s true that at a basic glance she’s over 800 years old, and while that is true, a majority of that time was spent sleeping in the halls of the Castle Millenium Brunestud, waiting for whatever reincarnation of Roa happened to show up next. So in terms of her actually being active, we don’t have much to go off of, and Ciel even stated within Tsukihime that she hadn’t been active very long in total. Even if we deliberately gave her the full 800 years, D’s been active for over 10,000 years, easily exceeding it by a wide margin.

MegaSonic: And while Arcueid is certainly a skilled enough fighter to keep up with far more experienced opponents, see her battles with Artoria and the Moon Cell’s variant of Heroic Spirit EMIYA, even fighting Nameless doesn’t quite stack up to D’s far superior experience.

Sharaku: Now, as we said before, in terms of hax, D and Arcueid were pretty much nearly evenly matched blow for blow. Types of regeneration, durability negation, resistances, sheer versatility. They both had everything under the sun and the moon (heh).

MegaSonic: Arcueid’s Counter Force backup certainly helped with keeping her ahead, since it boosted her power at a rate higher than D’s ever growing power did and at a consistently faster rate. In truth, she likely would claim the edge of raw power and speed, but only by a tiny margin if we’re being honest. She also, quite frankly, had better control of her full power, since calling on her full strength we saw Archetype Earth show off doesn’t drive her into a bloodlusted madness like how D is when he released his Full Vampire Form. If Arcueid had any shot of winning, it was then.

Sharaku: But the Akashic Records, incidentally, ended up being D’s saving grace in this fight. While Arcueid’s hax and resistances are insane and unparalleled by nearly everything in her own universe, she personally has never shown degrees of being able to resist the very plot of the story being tampered with, which is exactly what D can and has done. Additionally, while they were even in speed, the Akashic Records granted D total omnipresence over everywhere in space and time. And while Arcueid would always be one step ahead of D in terms of pure stats, using the Akashic Records to change his levels of strength and speed certainly wasn’t out of the question, either. Basically, look at it this way. Arcueid would scale above D’s strength. D would immediately scale to Arcueid. And this would essentially go into a loop until someone would eventually come out the winner. And more often than not, although it is down to the very last miniscule wire, D has the hax to do it with the Records.

MegaSonic: Hell, this is such a close fight I personally thought Arcueid would have been able to take D down using her Marble Phantasm and it’s own absurd power, but in the end D had the hax, experience, and literal plot manipulation needed to just barely edge out past Arcueid’s physical superiority and managed to clinch the victory.

Sharaku: No matter what way you slice it, this fight was one Melty Blood Battle.

MegaSonic: The winner is Vampire Hunter D.
