Ann Takamaki, codenamed Panther, is one of the main protagonists of the game Persona 5. She is a quarter-American student at Shujin Academy who joined the Phantom Theives of Hearts to exact revenge on her abusive teacher Suguru Kamoshida.

Ann is a student from Shujin Academy, located in the Aoyama-Itchome neighborhood of Tokyo. Her only friend was girl called Shiho Suzui, due to both girls being second-year outcasts. At some point, the school's volleyball coach, Suguru Kamoshida, forced Ann into a relationship with him, in exchange for giving Shiho a spot on the school volleyball team.
Shortly after Akira Kurusu arrived at Shujin, Shiho was supposedly raped by Kamoshida, causing her to attempt suicide. Ann discovered that Akira, Morgana, and Ryuji Sakamoto were in fact trying to bring down Kamoshida, and so she joined the Phantom Thieves. The Phantom Thieves were a group of high-school vigilantes who 'stole the hearts' of corrupt adults in order to form a better society.
