Sonic the Hedgehog vs JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. It's always a nice feeling to have a crush on someone, but when these two girls unlock their feelings for a certain boy, one wrong word about them turns these ladies into anything but nice. Who's love will prove superior in a fight to the death?
Introduction[]
Aqua: To go above and beyond for the ones they love, these two teenage girls will happily take down any unfortunate soul who gets in their way.
Octo: And that's because they're psychos! Amy Rose, Sonic the Hedgehog's pink stalker.
Aqua: And Yukako Yamagishi, Koichi Hirose's killer girlfriend. I'm Aqua, she's Octoling, and it's our job to analyse their weapons, armor and skills to see who would win a Death Battle.
Amy Rose[]
Aqua: When young 12 year old Amy Rose first heard of the adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog - that's the character himself, not the cartoon - she immediately fell in love with the blue blur.
Octo: While it might've been a bit... weird for a 12 year old to like a 16 year old, Amy wanted to meet Sonic and become his girlfriend. Gross, she's way too y...
Aqua: Despite the obvious age difference, Amy went above and beyond to try and find Sonic's whereabouts, and as a helping hand, learned how to read tarot cards. These cards eventually led her to the illustrious Little Planet, where Amy was told she would meet Sonic and...
Octo: Meet another Sonic! Okay, so it didn't tell her that, but still, Amy got to meet the hedgehog himself. You know, once she met Metal Sonic, who kidnapped her to lure Sonic into one of Dr. Eggman's traps, but she still did get to meet her idol. Two of them in fact.
Aqua: While originally a damsel in distress, Amy had promised that no matter what, she was going to impress Sonic into marriage.
Octo: Jeez, that escalated quickly! One minute it was love, next it was straight into bloody marriage. And I mean "bloody" literally! While Amy became a trusted member of Sonic's team after holding her own a few times, it seemed that she was only interested in him. And seriously, I mean it.
Amy: Sonic, this time there's no way out of marrying me!
Octo: See what I mean!?
Aqua: To be able to fend for herself... and match Sonic in combat, Amy had to make her own array of skills and abilities. With the Spin Attack, Amy can jump on enemies in a ball form to deliver a spiky finish. As for the Homing Attack, Amy can target objects and foes to deliver precise shots with her quills, and using the Spin Dash, she can blast off at maximum speeds in a grounded power ball that can destroy titanium robots like scrap.
Octo: But when Amy's feeling especially brutal, she can whip out her trusty Piko Piko Hammer, a Japanese children's toy that appears to be much more lethal than the one in real life. Can you imagine a child with that thing!?
Aqua: With the Piko Hammer, Amy can deliver deadly shots to her chosen victim. It sounds like she's a psychopath the way I say it, but trust me, she's 100% heroic!
Octo: With the Piko Hammer, Amy can not only launch herself off the ground in a giant leap that eclipses any jump height of a Sonic character, but she can also spin it around thanks to her Warrior Feather. And I mean really fast, to the point where she can create tornadoes!
Aqua: As for other weapons, Amy taps into her inner Harley Quinn, and throws gift boxes that are a little, shall we say, explosive.
Octo: Amy's off my Christmas list then. Anyway, Amy's weapons aren't just limited to explosive presents and a giant mallet. Turns out those tarot cards weren't just a one trick pony after all, because Amy can actually utilise them in combat.
Aqua: I would say sort of like a mage in an RPG, but Sonic Chronicles is an RPG, so yeah. Each tarot skill can be used to stun the enemies with several different effects, including poison that damages it's target every turn, or magic that screws up the accuracy and power of her attacker. Overall, pretty neat stuff.
Octo: Not to mention, those tarot cards act as a Spider-Sense of sorts, and let's Amy predict attacks before they happen. The miscellaneous skills she has alongside her cards include the Amy Heal.
Aqua: By thinking about nothing but Sonic, Amy can somehow recover her health and heal minor wounds. Don't ask how that works, we don't have a definitive answer.
Octo: Then there's the Storming Hearts, a bunch of hearts that can slice and stab opponents like Shadow's Chaos Spears, and the Amy Flash, a blown kiss that can, and I'm not kidding, paralyse an opponent for up to 20 seconds! It even works on girls, so Amy must be bise...
Aqua: Moving on, Amy's final known moves are her Propeller Hammer, where she spins her hammer in a clockwise motion, either horizontally or vertically, to act as a form of glide, and her invisibility. The last one's pretty self-explanatory, though unlike Espio's Chroma Camo, it won't make her intangible. She... also hasn't learned to hide her shadow, though that might just be the faulty mechanics of Sonic 06, so we'll assume that's not an actual weakness.
Octo: Though it goes to show that many people do tend to underestimate Amy, both in VS matches and in-canon. But getting back on topic, Amy has been doing some pretty cool things despite her age.
Aqua: While Amy isn't as fast as Sonic, she can reasonably keep up with him. In Sonic Unleashed, Sonic's Light Speed Dash is clocked in at about 400SPD. Given that the top running speed Sonic can reach is 3000SPD in Unleashed, Sonic should be capable of reaching speeds of over 7 times the speed of light.
Octo: Again, while Amy isn't as fast as the blue blur, she should be pretty close to those speeds. At best, she's FTL.
Aqua: As for her strength and durability, Amy has survived being crushed by a 4 ton boulder punched by Knuckles, who we know can punch with a force of 3.9 megatons of TNT, and one time even tanked an attack from her own Piko Piko Hammer at the hands of Shadow the Hedgehog.
Octo: Not to mention that time she dazed the Iron King, who was strong enough to tank laser fire from an entire army at once! Yeah, Amy's striking force is equivalent to an entire army's firearms storage!
Aqua: Amy has even stunned Knuckles with a backhand, and took a beating from Scourge the Hedgehog's Super form. Safe to say, Amy has a lot of potential for when she gets older. Hell, she's even ditched her obsessive behaviour.
Octo: Literally the only thing from Sonic Boom that I actually thought was a good idea. Even though she has matured, Amy still has... a few flaws. Examples including her short temper, and the fact that she's pretty hot-blooded.
Aqua: Amy often rushes into battle without thinking, and even despite her hold on her obsessive crush on Sonic, Amy... seems to still be inexperienced and immature. Still, even with her flaws, Amy has shown herself to be a pretty handy member of Team Sonic.
Octo: And watch out Dr. Eggman, because if you mess with Sonic, you mess with the sheer power and speed of Amy Rose!
Sonic: A-Amy, what're you...
Amy: Sshhhh. Have no fear... Amy Rose is here!
Yukako Yamagishi[]
Octo: Mori-Mori-Mori-Mori-Morioh Cho Radio...
Aqua: The small Japanese town of Morioh is, at first glance, quite a peaceful town. Although, thanks to the power of the infamous Stand Arrow, this quiet suburban area has been transformed into a crazy, noisy and bizarre town.
Octo: Yeah, for some reason, the arrow that gave DIO his power seemed to have found its way here, in the hands of a man who used the arrow for his own ends.
Aqua: Keicho Nijimura had been shooting people using the arrow, hoping that one of the powers his victims gained would help restore his disfigured father, who had been turned into an inhumane monster by DIO's flesh bud, which had mutated when Jotaro Kujo killed the vampire back in Cairo, 1989...
Octo: And what has this got to do with our combatant?
Aqua: Well, one of the victims was a young 16 year old girl, who had had a crush on a kid known as Koichi Hirose. After being struck by the arrow, the girl would awaken a new form of power, one that she would use to force innocent Koichi into a relationship with her.
Octo: Yup, this crazy chick was Yukako Yamagishi!
Yukako: It doesn't matter if someone comes, because love is invincible!
Octo: Definitely a nut case if you ask me, though whether she's as bad as Anasui is debatable.
Aqua: To gain Koichi's affection... and match Koichi in combat - I'm really coming up with a sense of déjà vu here - Yukako had to adapt to her power and become... a powerful girl, actually.
Octo: And this was all thanks to her Stand: Love Deluxe. Eyes of Heaven calls it Love Extra, but you know how localisation is the true villain of JoJo.
Aqua: Love Deluxe is different, in the fact that it's a very unique type of Stand. This is actually Yukako's hair, which falls into the category of 'Bound Stands'. Similar to other Stands, like Ticket to Ride and Scary Monsters, Love Deluxe can actually be seen by people without Stands. It may seem detrimental to its user, but certainly not to Yukako!
Octo: Love Deluxe is actually pretty fucking awesome. It can do things like grabbing foes and smashing them about like they're Loki and she's Hulk. It's, again, awesome!
Aqua: Love Deluxe's Stand stats place it on a B tier for speed and strength, making it nearly as fast and strong as Jotaro's Star Platinum and Josuke's Crazy Diamond. However, given the nature of it being Yukako's hair, it's more than likely referring to reactions in terms of speed.
Octo: I mean, imagine if your hair dashed off at 365 times light speed. Say goodbye to your scalp, because that's gone!
Aqua: Indeed. While Yukako herself isn't that physically strong, the range and strength her hair alone possesses makes her a formidable opponent.
Octo: Funny thing is, even cutting her hair off won't work. It grows back about as fast as a Mega Man charged shot!
Aqua: Yukako can even make her hair act like fists and sharp objects, so she can punch and impale foes, rather than just grab them. It's a versatile Stand, though it has been seen before.
Octo: Remember one of the zombie knight guys from way back in Phantom Blood? Yeah, he could literally slice people with his hair, and even cut them too.
Aqua: It's not too far off to say that Yukako should reasonably be able to do that as well, even though she hasn't shown it off yet.
Octo: Not only that, but Love Deluxe ranks quite high in terms of durability, also thanks to the aforementioned regrowth it has. Other than that... that's about it for Yukako.
Aqua: Apologies for this being so short... Araki never really included Yukako that much other than a couple of story arcs. Still, lack of powers aside, Yukako has actually done a lot of things with her Stand!
Octo: Considering the fact that she actually managed to take on Joseph Joestar, Jotaro Kujo and many others in Eyes of Heaven, it goes to show that Yukako really is not to be messed with.
Aqua: Outside of crossovers where she tanked attacks from Star Platinum and Kars, Yukako has managed to subdue Koichi's Echoes Act 2, and survived getting launched several feet away from her hideout.
Octo: She's a pretty smart girl too. Not only is she top of her class on most subjects, like other JoJo characters she's great at strategizing. The fact that she outsmarted Koichi, who in turn tricked the unwavering Yoshikage Kira, shows that she's one committed fighter.
Aqua: And arguably, when she's stressed out and her hair turns white, Yukako is much stronger. If we were to compare her to Star Platinum, Yukako would be at least building level to SP's large building feats.
Octo: Yukako's reactions aren't on the same level, but if we were to say that lower stat rankings were half of the rank higher up, then Yukako can presumably react to speeds reaching over... um...
Aqua: 182.5 times the speed of light.
Octo: Right, thanks. As for her Stand itself, while it certainly isn't that fast due to being easily capable of ripping off Yukako's scalp, it should arguably be faster than the firing rate of a Glock, if we were to play the guessing game. Glock's can fire at speeds up to approximately 800 miles per hour. And that's lowballed. A highball would be equivalent to that of the fastest gun muzzle velocity seen in an M134 Minigun, which is 1900 miles per hour.
Aqua: That is pretty fast, but still Yukako is not perfect. She's short tempered, hot-headed and very defensive of Koichi. And that's when she's not stressed out.
Octo: While she's stressed, Yukako's anger clouds her judgement, and she's prone to making stupid mistakes. Plus her Stand's accuracy is ranked at E, which is... very bad, and that's putting it lightly.
Aqua: But despite this, Yukako is one tough 16 year old girl. Koichi certainly has every right to be both afraid and in love with the deadly but beautiful Yukako Yamagishi.
Octo: RoadRollerDio's waifu, too!
Aqua: Let's just move on...
Interlude[]
Aqua: All right, the combatants are set, and we've run the data through all possibilities.
Octo: It's time for a Death Batttttttttllllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
Death Battle[]
The silence of Morioh. It wasn't unusual for the area near Boing-Boing Cape to be quiet at this time of night, but little did any nearby locals - if there was any mind you - know that things were about to get heated.
Walking across the grassy ground was a young pink hedgehog, who seemed to be dragging an unwilling blue hedgehog behind her. It was Amy Rose and Sonic the Hedgehog, who had come to the Japanese town to meet up with a couple.
Though to Amy, it would be another couple.
Sonic huffed in both humiliation and frustration. Amy had signed the two of them up to a double date program, against Sonic's wishes no less, and had been paired up with two kids.
On the other side were the duo they were supposed to meet. A kid and a much taller girl that looked to be around about Sonic's age glanced up to see the Mobian pair approach them.
"Hey, Yukako-san, Koichi-san. We've arrived!" the 12 year old yelled as the Morioh duo walked up to them.
"Hello, Amy-kun. And you must be Sonic." Koichi Hirose greeted the pair, offering his hand out to shake Sonic's hand. Sonic took it, and in turn...
"Hey Koichi. Yep, name's Sonic the Hedgehog. Hope you don't find us too... weird. I mean, it's gotta be awkward talking to two giant hedgehogs from another world." the hedgehog grinned, as he fist bumped Koichi.
Koichi laughed, as he and Sonic walked away alone to joke about how it wasn't weird compared to what Koichi had been through. Before he left though, Koichi turned to Yukako...
"Yukako-san, I'm gonna meet up with Josuke and Okuyasu at Tonio's. Meet back in a couple of hours?"
Yukako smiled, "Yeah, go ahead!"
And so, the two left, leaving Amy and Yukako alone. To break the tension, Amy asked Yukako a question.
"Y'know Yukako... what do you see in Koichi?"
Yukako scowled at Amy, and immediately tensed up. This was going somewhere she didn't want it to, and if it went there...
There'd be hell to pay!
"W-What do you mean?" Yukako asked, twitching her left eye. The girl was getting angry...
Amy swung her hammer over the back of her shoulder, and softly chuckled. "It's just that... Koichi, no offense to him, looks kind of shrimpy. I'm shocked that he's the one that you went... Yukako?"
Amy backed away slowly. Something was happening with Yukako's hair, and the wind was super soft, so it couldn't have been that.
Before she could react, Amy was immediately attacked by long strands of Yukako's black hair, which wrapped around her legs and held her in place.
"What the..." exclaimed the pink girl, as she struggled to get out of Yukako's grip.
Yukako slowly lifted Amy up to face level, and stared into the tween girl's green eyes with pure bloodlust.
"No one... NO ONE DISSES MY KOICHI!!!" Yukako yelled in a blackened rage, as Amy took a swing of her hammer.
"Fine. THIS IS FOR MY SONIC!!!"
FIGHT!
To avoid getting struck by the Piko Piko Hammer, Yukako was forced to release Amy from her grip. The pink hedgehog watched as Yukako hopped back and launched her hair at Amy. The 12 year old either dodged left and right, or blocked with her hammer, before bouncing back away from a stab and charging a Spin Dash.
Bolting off towards the teenage girl, Amy was ready for a full on strike as she slammed into Yukako's torso and started pushing her back in midair. Yukako struggled against the harsh winds, but used her hair to wrap around Amy's ball form while it was spinning. Stopping the flight altogether, Yukako slammed Amy into the ground, and landed on her feet.
Amy was left lying on the ground, as Yukako grabbed her ankle and began spinning the hedgehog in the air.
"And this is why no one crosses my path!" yelled Yukako once more, as she launched Amy up into the air. Amy recovered her balance, and immediately started curling into a super charged Homing Attack.
Yukako effortlessly dodged the blast, as Amy bounced off the ground. Yukako turned...
Only to be struck right in the face by a backhand strike from Amy's hammer, smashing her like a tennis ball.
Yukako crashed and rolled on the ground, but recovered her footing and slid back. Amy smirked as she threw her hammer at Yukako, but the Japanese girl grabbed it with her hair and, by swinging it around, delivered a powerful blow to the side of Amy's muzzle, smashing her sideways into a tree.
Yukako sighed in relief, only to immediately find Amy activating an aura of sorts around her. This was her tarot card, which restored her health to normal. Yukako charged for Amy, but the younger girl used her hammer to hop over Yukako, narrowly avoiding the hair strands trying to snatch her.
Landing behind Yukako, Amy swung her hammer once more, only this time Yukako turned round and reacted, blocking using her hair as a shield.
The attack didn't damage Yukako, but it almost broke down her defensive immediately. Now it was stable, Yukako tanked a couple of shots from the weapon, while Amy used her Warrior Feather to spin in a rapid hammer attack.
"Wow, you're pretty tough!" Amy complimented as Yukako smirked. Unbeknownst to Amy, a strand of her hair had snuck around behind the pink hedgehog, and was prepared to impale her in the back.
Yukako launched it forward...
But Amy slammed her hammer off the ground and backflipped over, as Yukako's hair broke open her own defenses. The girl was staggered, before immediately being demolished in the face by a sharp swing of the Piko Piko Hammer.
Flying back and crashing to the ground, Yukako struggled to get up.
"B-B-But how..."
Amy grinned as she tried to bring the hammer down on her opponent...
Only to be blindsided by a massive tree being thrown into her! Yukako had grabbed a tree and literally yeeted it over towards the young girl.
Amy watched as Yukako brought the tree down, leaving Amy to crash into the side of a wall as full speed. Falling to the ground, Amy tried reaching for her dropped Piko Hammer, but was suddenly grabbed and cocooned by Love Deluxe. Now in full control, Yukako slammed Amy to the right...
"This..."
Then to the left...
"Is..."
Then once more to the right...
"For..."
Then into the sky...
"Koichi!"
Releasing Amy, Yukako watched as her enemy sailed through the air, before snatching her out of the air by wrapping around her body with Love Deluxe and bringing the hedgehog right into the ground!
Amy was released, and she stumbled back to her feet. Yukako once more fired her hair forward, but Amy was very energetic, so she blocked each slice and stabbing motion Yukako tried to do.
Pissed at Amy's hammer from getting in the way, Yukako grabbed the hammer with Love Deluxe and attempted to pry it off her hands, but Amy tugged back.
"Alright missy, if you want my hammer..."
Amy had planned a sneaky attack and let go of the hammer, shocking Yukako as it flew towards her.
"THEN HAVE IT!!!" Amy shouted.
Yukako was struck by the hammer and sent several feet backwards, crashing on to the concrete driveway sitting next to the grass. Yukako got up, very unstable and bleeding pretty badly.
Amy had lost her hammer, but summoned another one out of thin air. She watched as Yukako's hair turned white, showing that despite the bloodied nose and burst lip, Yukako wasn't going to back down so easily.
Amy stood there as Yukako shot Love Deluxe out towards her...
But it missed by a longshot.
Yukako tried again. She missed. Then again. She missed. Then... you get the point.
The teenage girl was getting very, very confused, as even when Amy blasted off in a Spin Dash, Love Deluxe was missing the target. That's because Amy had previously used her tarot card reading to throw Yukako's aim off, and not only that, even when Yukako tried to move in a defensive stance...
She couldn't. Amy had trapped her using her Amy Flash move, and with the Japanese teen paralysed, she Piko Piko Hammered Yukako high into the air. While unable to reach her, Amy sorted the situation out by spinning around so fast she made a tornado, which proceeded to lift trees, cars and houses up from the ground.
Using them to her advantage, and hoping to capitalise on the ten seconds Yukako had left before she could move again, Amy entered the tornado and bounced off the debris.
Yukako's Love Deluxe was unable to move as well, so the girl was forced to tank a spinning hammer swing from Amy, which threw her both out of the tornado and to the ground.
Having been able to move once more, Yukako tried her best to get up, but was too slow as she was forced to watch Amy Homing Attack out of the tornado, which proceeded to die down and drop the objects miraculously where they had been stationed before.
Coming at her like a bolt of light, Amy brought her hammer down towards her opponent.
Yukako only had one thought on her mind...
"Koi..."
But she didn't have time to finish her sentence, as the face of the Piko Piko Hammer was brought down on her face, completely obliterating her head in an explosion of blood. Using the squashed face of Yukako and her hammer, Amy launched herself forwards, throwing what appeared to be a present backwards.
The gift landed on Yukako's body as Amy landed a few feet behind her corpse, and looking back Amy shielded her eyes.
This was no ordinary present...
It was a bomb present, which exploded and tore apart Yukako's body, spraying blood in all directions as body parts rained from the sky.
Amy's short hair blew in the wind that occurred from the explosion, while the blood barely missed her. While the smoke drifted away, Amy looked at the tree next to the massive crater in the ground, which had caught on fire. Fixing her bangs, which had been covering her eye, Amy just shrugged.
"Hehe, at least I could keep my hair nice for Sonic through that. Too bad same couldn't be said for... Maybe I should get out of here."
KO!
Sonic came back to the area, minus Koichi, only to flinch backwards as he saw the carnage, with Amy standing in the middle combing her hair.
Meanwhile, Koichi was hanging out at Tonio's with Josuke and Okuyasu, having totally forgotten about Yukako.
Results[]
Octo: How old was Amy again? Twelve, right?
Aqua: In all honesty, this battle was pretty one sided in Amy's favor here. Considering the fact that she's been seen fighting a lot more than Yukako has, it seemed pretty obvious who had the win nailed down.
Octo: I mean, we even gave Yukako the benefit of the doubt and gave her Eyes of Heaven's game mechanics. However, while she has tanked attacks from characters like Josuke and Jotaro, nothing could prepare her for Amy's strength!
Aqua: In terms of speed, despite the fact that Yukako had a massive upper hand in terms of reactions, the fact that her attack speed was pitifully slow in comparison just ruined her chances of victory.
Octo: Yeah, you could argue that Love Deluxe's Stand stats show a B in speed, but considering the fact that it's bound to Yukako's hair, it's kind of stupid to say that it can move at similar speeds. Especially when you take into account that she'd end up killing herself with that speedy hair of her's.
Aqua: Okay, let's be fair to Yukako here. Say if she did have MFTL+ attack speed, would it really have mattered?
Octo: Wait... What'd you mean by that?
Aqua: Yukako wouldn't have had a big enough speed gap to blitz Amy even then, as Amy has kept up and fought someone who, while nowhere near as fast as a B speed Stand, is at least relatively close. Case in point, Sonic and Shadow the Hedgehogs.
Octo: Besides, Yukako's E in precision/accuracy was kind of a heavy weight on Yukako's potential. I mean, Amy could literally use her tarot card skills from Chronicles to make that bad precision even worse than before. Despite the speed advantage, Yukako had no response to either that, or Amy's paralysis move from Adventure 2.
Aqua: Paralysing someone for twenty seconds is nothing to be ignored. And even if Yukako was to snatch away Amy's hammer instead, as seen in Sonic X, Amy could just summon a new one.
Octo: What about Yukako's strength? She's close to Jotaro and Star Platinum in strength, right?
Aqua: While that may be true, Amy has tanked attacks from Knuckles the Echidna, who once managed to punch with enough force to erupt a volcano. Yeah, Jotaro broke diamond (no pun intended), but Knuckles punched with a force of 3.9 megatons of TNT, much higher than Star Platinum.
Octo: Well, poor Yukako. She may have had reactions, but her strength, durability, accuracy, combat speed and versatility was too little for her in the long run. It's safe to say that Yukako has not found herself facing a hairy situation like this before!
Aqua: That... was terrible. 'Sigh', the winner is Amy Rose.
