Description[]
All Might vs Superman. 2 iconic symbols to humanity. Whether it be for peace or for hope. There is a tiny issue, if this was the comics Superman then All Might's chances of winning would be flushed down the drain. So what would happen if All Might were to face the Superman of the DC Extended Universe where the popularity of the character is most prominent with this generation?
Intro[]
Wiz: All Might. My Hero Academia's symbol of peace.
Boomstick: And Henry Cavil's Superman. The DC Extended Universe's symbol of hope.
Wiz: When you live in a universe with supernatural beings who can do practically anything, there always must be at least someone. Someone people can look up to when the world needs them most.
Boomstick: And what better way of showing peace to the world then have 2 peacekeepers killing each other? He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick.
Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle.
All Might[]
Wiz: In the world of My Hero Academia, evolution takes a step forward. With the introduction of Quirks, society entered a new world of superpowers.
Boomstick: Well only for about 80% of the entire world. An even with that 80% came its own issues. With superpowers people, especially the bad ones, have a better chance of performing crime and pretty much anything illegal.
Wiz: Even in a world where superheroes are commonplace, there was no hero and person can look upon. Humanity was missing something, pillar to hold up society of sorts. Fortunately for the people, one man wanted to be that very pillar. This man was Toshinori Yagi.
Boomstick: Only one issue. He didn't have a quirk, but damn it that didn't stop him from wanting to help others. He may not have a quirk to be a hero, but he sure had the heart of one. What a great guy. Fortunately for him, he meet a lady who can give him exactly what he needed to meet his goals.
Background[]
- Real name: Toshinori Yagi
- Age: 50s
- Height: 220 cm
- Weight: 255 kg
- Former Number 1 Hero
- 8th bearer of One For All
Wiz: This was Nana Shimura and the quirk she has was special, very special. It possess the ability to be transferred to another individual and with Toshinori having the spirit of a hero, she agreed to give him this power. And with it, All Might became the 8th bearer of One For All.
Boomstick: Yeah, he's the 8th. See this quirk in its early years was actually pretty weak but the very 1st wielder of this quirk was given a stockpile quirk in combination with his own and in it created One For All and it can get stronger every time he passes it down and boy does it get stronger.
Wiz: Now with One For All, Toshinori finally had what it takes to be that pillar for society. And with his new found powers, he adopted the hero name, All Might.
Boomstick: One For All grants All Might superhuman strength, speed and durability. He can take immense amounts of pain and keep on fighting as well as being able to fight for days on end without needing a break. But his power mostly specializes in raw brute power and speed. He can move faster than the eye can track and punch hard enough to devastate sections of cities. But even with raw power, he needed more to be the very best.
Wiz: Thanks to his education at U.A. Highschool and training in America after his master's unfortunate death, he was able to mold his power into his own fighting style, with moves based on the American states.
Boomstick: Why?
Wiz: Well the in canon reason is because of his training in the US, but it could also be a nod the US popularizing the Superhero Genre as a whole like Marvel and DC.
Boomstick: Well I see that, but the way I see it is because if you want to name your attacks after states, America has a lot better names than the Japanese. Imagine if All Might's attack names were Japanese based. Like you'd get Amori Smash, or Saga Smash or... Saitama Smash? You know the more times I name Japanese states or cities I am slowly realizing that that is where a lot of anime names originate.
Popup: Yes, there is a state in Japan called Saitama which just so happens to belong to Kanto Region in Japan, which itself is the inspiration to the Kanto Region in Pokemon.
Wiz: While a majority if not all of these "Smash" are practically the same, they all have a different way of delivery. Moves like Texas Smash specialize in long range air pressure attack while moves like his Detroit Smash are for more direct combat. His Nebraska and Oklahoma Smash revolves around hurricane movement, trapping his foes in a tornado whether created by his fist or his body.
One For All[]
- California Smash
- Detroit Smash
- Texas Smash
- New Hampshire Smash
- Nebraska Smash
- Oklahoma Smash
- Caroline Smash
- Missuri Smash
- United States of Smash
Boomstick: My personal favorite the New Hampshire Smash, where he launches himself at high speeds to collide with whatever the hell is in his dear old direction.
Wiz: But he has one last move up his sleeve. If he is left with no other option he can whip out his most powerful attack yet, his "Plus Ultra" if you will. An attack that concentrates the power of One For All into a single powerful strike. The United States of Smash.
Boomstick: Oh hell yeah that's what I call an American move. The United States of Smash was so powerful it created an huge ass tornado that can hurl multiple story buildings around, just as a side effect of this strike. But it did kind of weakened him to the point where he can only use his powers for only a few seconds.
Popup: When All Might used the attack he was already in a weakened state with every use of his power weakening him more. In his prime where he has no such issues with his power can likely use the United States of Smash with no drawbacks.
Wiz: Even when his hero journey came to an end, he still persisted and helped teach a new generation of Heroes at U.A high school. Especially when he, just like his master, passes along One For All onto a boy with just as much of a hero's heart as he had, Izuku Midoriya.
Boomstick: But even during his 40 years as a Hero, it took a real lot to finally force him into retirement. And boy has he gone the very distance. Not only has this guy been in the middle of multiple point blank explosions, but he's been launched through entire buildings and can suplex foes hard enough to create freaking explosions.
Wiz: That's hardly his limit. At one point he was powerful enough to move a giant storm that expanded over the horizon. Heck his successor Midoriya alongside Bakugo was able to do a similar feat by dispersing a storm of similar size.
Boomstick: Yeah but as said earlier One For All does get stronger the more it's passed down so doesn't that mean All Might can't scale to Midoriya?
Wiz: Well that's not entirely true. Early in the course of the series 100% Midoriya and an out of prime All Might have been roughly showcased to be in a similar Plainfield in power. Even as the series progresses where Midoriya claims he was on par with All Might at his strongest despite him currently only having 45% of his powers without harming himself. When he uses other Quirks that help him emulate 100% power he outright compares it to All Might during his prime.
Boomstick: So that should mean whatever Midoriya can do, All Might should be able to do as well. Take for example the time he claimed his 100% can travel to UA despite being 200 Kilometers immediately.
Wiz: Taken literally and assuming the best estimate for the timeframe being a single second, Midoriya must be able to move at speeds over 447,000 Mph or about Mach 583.
Feats[]
- Punched through a giant metal cube alongside Midoriya
- Defeated several villains faster than the eye can see
- Survived Bakugo's Grenadier Bracers
- Punched hard enough to move a storm
- Punched Nomu 300 times in a matter of seconds
- Defeated Nomu, Bakugo, Wolfram, All For One
Boomstick: Damn that's fast. But he's not just all speed. Comparing the storm explosion feat in comparison to the island Midoriya and Bakugo was standing on, the force needed to pull this off would be equivalent to 3.6 Gigatons of TNT. And apparently this was before he had made the comparison to each other, meaning he could now hit potentially even harder.
Wiz: Though All Might doesn't need to scale to Midoriya to be strong. He's tough enough to get crush by several tons of metal, strong enough to lift the Tokyo Sky Egg, and punch Nomu over 300 times over the course of seconds despite the Nomu having a shock absorption quirk specifically design to counter him which resulted him being sent to cloud level. But in that same battle, a fight like that in his Prime would have only needed a total of 5 punches.
Boomstick: And it was thanks to these powers and feats that he finally defeated his master's killer and number 1 enemy to One For All as a whole, All For One.
Wiz: Now despite All Might's crazy abilities, he has his downsides. During a battle with a sludge villain, it resulted in his respiratory system being... well lets just say, not in the best shape. This resulted in him being able to work only for a few hours, and continuous use of it shortened it even more. While his prime state doesn't have this issue, it still implies that enough damage to his body can actually cripple his ability to draw out his full potential.
Boomstick: But that didn't stop him from being a Hero when the time calls for it. Even in retirement, he wasn't done helping others. He would help train and teach a new generation of heroes, including his own successor.
Wiz: And throughout his entire career, he did so with a smile on his face. A shining example to those around him to know that they are safe, just as long as he keeps breathing.
Boomstick: God bless that sweet, sweet smile.
All Might: I AM HEEEERRRREEEEE!!!!!
