Alex the Lion vs Otis is the seventeenth What-If? Death Battle of GoCommitDi's second season, featuring Alex the Lion from Madagascar and Otis from Barnyard in a battle between anthropomorphic leaders who end up thrusting to harsh, new lives after having their lazy days ripped away from them.

• Both Alex and Otis will receive everything, including feats from video games.
  • However, crossover games will be an exception just to spare the burden.

Trivia

• The connections between Alex and Otis are that they are leaders of an animal group who initially wanted to spend their days being lazy, only to have their easygoing lifestyles ripped away from them, which caused them to take in new responsibilities. Over time, they settled further into their roles as the leader while maintaining their outgoing attitude. Their stories are heavily shaped by fathers and how said fathers were taken from them. At some point, they ended up working in a circus to accomplish a goal. They have teamed up with small animals who can get their hands on any item and sneak underground, have stopped a character infamous for killing other animals, have to conceal their true nature as talking animals in order to avoid drawing attention from humans, and they once found themselves in a situation where they wanted to kill someone close to them due to external factors, which caused them to isolate themselves from their friends.
• The fight would be made in live-action 3D.
• The track title would be You Gotta Moo-ve It, Moo-ve It, which is a reference to the songs I Like to Move It and You Gotta Move from the respective films.
