The most powerful wizard in history, Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore is a half-blood born the oldest of the Dumbledore children. His father died in prison, and his sister and mother died in an accident. Traumatized, Dumbledore eventually improved as a person, becoming one of the foremost wizards to have ever lived for over a century.

He was revealed to have been in a romantic relationship with Gellert Grindelwald, but eventually broke up with him when the latter's revolution plans became more than apparent, eventually defeating him and imprisoning him in Nurmengard, and became the Headmaster of Hogwarts for 5 decades. Under his leadership, the wizards prevailed in the Wizarding Wars, though in the Second, Dumbledore died, but his plan had succeeded in bringing down Voldemort for good.

A master manipulator who uses persuasion for the greater good and a wizard of undisputed might, that not even Voldemort could overcome him, Dumbledore possesses a century's worth of wisdom, experience and power unrivalled by any. He has proven to be an invaluable ally against the darkness whose legacy even leaves unforgettable marks within Harry, Ron and Hermione themselves, in ways that made them powerful in their own right.

His brother, Aberforth, apparently lives on when he died, as a shepherd in Hogsmeade.
