Akame vs. Ryūko Matoi is the 40th episode and Season 4 Premiere of DEATH BATTLE! by Shadow7615 in collaboration with Venom Gia, the Spider, featuring Akame from the Akame ga Kill! series and Ryūko Matoi from the Kill la Kill series in a battle between dark-haired anti-hero swordswomen.

Interlude[]

Wiz: Leadership is a position not easily fulfilled, while some are honest and prosperous, others are conquerors and seek to control everything they can get their hands on.

Boomstick: And for those at the top, they get a secure spot on somebody's watch list. And no matter who gets in the way, these two will go through anyone.

Wiz: Akame of the Demon Sword Murasame.

Boomstick: And Ryūko Matoi, the Human-Life Fiber Hybrid. He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick!

Wiz: And it's our job to analyse their weapons, armor and skills, to find out who would win... a Death Battle.

Akame[]

Wiz: When many think of the most lethal assassin in the lands, there will be very few who don't mention the renowned and deadly assassin of Night Raid, Akame.

Boomstick: Yeah, those red eyes of hers are proof that she means some serious business.

Wiz: When Akame was a child, she and her sister were sold to the Empire, and were subject to cruel examinations. Primarily she and her sister were 2 of 100 children forced to take part in a wicked test that saw them isolated in a forest with Danger Beasts, the creatures of the world, which attacked humans on their territory.

Boomstick: Somehow, Akame, her sister, and at least 5 others survived this test and became known as the Elite Seven. From there, Akame's training in espionage and combat began, slowly grooming her into the badass she would one day become.

Wiz: Akame served in the Empire's assassination group for some years, honing her skills and establishing her name. Even succeeding her mentor, Gozuki, and inheriting his powerful weapon. But she would ultimately defect from the Empire once she grew resentful of them.

Boomstick: Hooking up with the Revolutionary Army's assassination group, Night Raid. Akame started doing her work in opposition to the Empire, which now meant being opposed to her sister. Despite that Akame stayed committed to defecting, and soon became one of the Empire's greatest enemies.

Wiz: In the world of Akame ga Kill, there are 48 relics known as Teigu, mysterious and extremely powerful creations by The First Emperor. Their abilities vary from types of armour to even stopping time itself. Akame possesses one of these Teigu and one that most appropriately fits in her line of work.

Boomstick: Akame wields One-Cut Killer: Murasame, which does exactly what it says on the box. This katana specializes in killing opponents in just a single strike. But what makes it deadly is how it takes you out. The katana itself is cursed and has poison coated on the blade.

Wiz: Murasame is an extremely potent weapon, Once Murasame has pierced the skin, it seeps the poison into the victim's body where it stops their heart in mere seconds. It's so dangerous that Akame herself uses gloves when wielding it, and takes extreme caution when cleaning her weapon.

Boomstick: Yikes, I'd hate to cut myself with that thing! And she uses it like it's just any ol' sword! She handles a sword as easily as I handle a beer. Oh my God! Imagine a Murasame Beer! I know I'd never get cut by a beer can. And fortunately for Akame, she's never cut herself with Murasame.

Wiz: While Murasame is her only weapon on hand, she is a master of espionage, and her training in this field has allowed her to develop some extraordinary skills. She has mastered stealth and even learned how to suppress her aura. And can actively hide any trace of her presence.

Boomstick: Yep, it even worked on this Ice Lady, who had some precognition. This would allow her to detect someone like Akame sneaking up on her, but Akame is just that sneaky. She's like Snake, but without the cardboard box.

Wiz: That is a good comparison. Even when she is not using Murasame, Akame is a master of hand-to-hand combat, at times even assassinating people with just her physical skill alone. Akame is also trained in targeting her opponent's vitals and can do so without Murasame.

Boomstick: If that's not enough she can even clear her mind so telepaths can't read her mind. This Zanku guy could read minds to anticipate Akame's moves. But once she cleared her mind, he couldn't read get a read on her thoughts, nor movements, and sure enough, he ended up dead.

Wiz: Additionally, Akame has some minor precognition, with it she becomes aware of nearby dangers, and the murderous intent of attackers. To add to her skills, Akame has a small immunity to poisons. With all this, Night Raid battled against the Empire, and their elite group, the Jaegers.

Boomstick: Although the Jaegers had her sister in their ranks, Akame did not hold back. She's strong enough to punch through an enhanced soldier's helmet and face. She can kick herself off the ground fast enough to reach heights comparable to skyscrapers. And even killed a couple of the Jaegers herself.

Wiz: She's also considerably durable. Wave, one of the Jaegers, punched her through multiple trees, although this did do considerable damage to her, Akame survived the ordeal and got back to fighting within seconds. And that was Wave using his Teigu, Grand Chariot, putting his strength far above ordinary humans. According to Wave, Akame can run at Mach 1.

Boomstick: And during her final boss fight, she was able to dodge lightning itself! Thanks to it all happening in just one panel, we can figure out how quickly Akame moved to dodge the lightning. Since the lightning was fired before Akame moved, her dodging that lightning comes out to Mach 825.5, certainly backs up what Wave said.

Wiz: Speaking of that battle, her opponent was the General of the Empire, Esdeath. The most powerful opponent Akame has ever fought, and during their encounter, Esdeath pushed Akame to her limits. With this, Akame finally called upon her Trump Card.

Boomstick: Think of the Trump Card as a secret ability that most Teigu have. For Akame, it's a performance enhancer called "Little War Horn". And goddamn, its wicked cool! If those red eyes weren't already intimidating enough, now they're especially badass.

Wiz: Little War Horn boosts Akame's physical capabilities, allowing her to almost match Esdeath, as such, her strength, speed, and durability rise to contend with Esdeath. And that was just enough for Akame to kill Esdeath. Perhaps her greatest feat of all.

Boomstick: But remember, it's a performance enhancer. So it will wear off after long enough, not to mention it burns through Akame's stamina much faster. Because of that, Akame will only turn to Little War Horn as an ultimate last resort, since she has to discard her humanity and tap into her inner demon. Wow, she's starting to sound like Akuma!

Wiz: Beyond that, Murasame is not without flaws. The blade's lethal poison only works on living beings with a beating heart, so machines or anything void of such organs will be completely unaffected. Not to mention the blade can be destroyed. Esdeath destroyed it, albeit moments before it killed her. The poison can also be stopped if one amputates part of their body before it reaches the heart.

Boomstick: Murasame also has a flaw with souls, if there are two souls in one body, one of the souls has to kick the bucket before the remaining soul can be dealt with. Though to Akame's benefit, she used this flaw to kill the Danger Beast Tyrant, who was overtaking fellow Night Raid member, Tatsumi.

Wiz: Akame herself also has flaws, although her approach is refined and calculated, well-armoured opponents give Akame a more difficult time, Wave using Grand Chariot being an example. Though despite these flaws, Akame is still the cream of the crop and holds her position for good reason, none should ignore the danger that is Akame of the Demon Sword Murasame.

Akame: As the living, it is our responsibility to carry out the wishes of the ones who are gone.

Ryuko[]

Boomstick: You know what's worse than not knowing where your Dad went? Witnessing him being murdered might just top the list, I wonder if my old man is still kicking.

Wiz: Boomstick's little comparison is on point, as Ryūko Matoi experienced a tragic loss at the young age of 17. Her father was murdered by a mysterious woman wielding one half of an unusual blade.

Boomstick: After trying and failing, Ryūko helplessly watched as she became an orphan. But it didn't take long for Ryūko to vow her revenge, and soon she starting wandering, becoming a vagrant and looking for her father's killer.

Wiz: This desire for revenge drove Ryūko to Honnōji Academy, where she finally managed to have a lead on the whereabouts of her father's killer, but after being beaten twice and almost dying, her split blood awoke a Kamui.

Boomstick: Kamui are basically living uniforms. And they're made up of stuff called Life Fibers. If you're not quite following, you know Spawn has his sentient cape? Think of Kamui like Spawn's cape, and Ryūko like Spawn.

Wiz: That's a fair point, as Kamui possess the ability to transform, though Kamui primarily transforms into powerful and resistant armour suits, which a compatible wearer can greatly benefit from.

Boomstick: Ryūko's Kamui is named Senketsu, as it turns out, Senketsu was created by Ryūko's dad before he died, which is pretty cool. Ryūko's dad also left behind one half of a really cool weapon, the Red Scissor Blade. This blade is entirely made up of hardened Life Fibers, and can even change its form and size.

Wiz: It has Decapitation Mode, which doubles its length and has its finishing move. That finishing move allows Senketsu to absorb more Life Fibers and become stronger as a result. And due to the nature of Kamui, Senketsu can transform and make Ryūko stronger.

Boomstick: Are you sure we can just show these transformations? But regardless, Ryūko becomes much stronger, her strength, speed and durability rise thanks to Senketsu's transformation. Senketsu has multiple transformations. There's her main form, then there's Senketsu Shippu, which grants Ryūko the power to fly.

Wiz: Senketsu Senjin adds spikes around Ryūko, and can form saw blades by using Ryūko's blood. Speaking of blood, that is how Senketsu can power up, though this was dangerous initially. To ensure she doesn't get drained of all her blood, Ryūko wears the Seki Tesso Glove, which allows her to pull a clip that then allows Senketsu to draw blood from Ryūko.

Boomstick: And don't forget Senjin Shippu, which combines her two previous forms, so flying and spikey at the same time. Ryūko is pretty much tough as nails, and if that isn't enough, she has regenerative powers! Thanks to the Life Fibers, Ryūko can survive ridiculous amounts of punishment, and I mean ridiculous, you tell them, Wiz!

Wiz: Ryūko's regenerative ability has seen her survive being bisected, impaled hundreds of times, torn to shreds, losing gallons of blood and so on. She has even withstood her beating heart being ripped from her body, and what was her response? Grabbing it and putting it back into her chest.

Boomstick: No wonder this girl made it to the top of her enemy list, she can just survive anything, and perform some amazing feats of her own. She's strong enough to leave shockwaves and even leave craters in the ground, she's tough enough to tank rockets being fired upon her and even makes her shockwaves through sheer willpower alone. She also gets stronger each time she's at death's door, like a true Saiyan!

Wiz: Her speed is perhaps her greatest asset, during an encounter with the Captain of the Girls Tennis Club, at least 220 tennis balls were thrown at Ryūko simultaneously, and Ryūko proceeded to cut every single one of them, five times, in seconds. Considering the distance they were served and the number of tennis balls, to pull this off, Ryūko would have needed to attack with speeds up to Mach 4528.3.

Boomstick: Holy crap! This chick sounds invincible! Good thing all this stuff paid off because not only did she find her father's killer, but she also recovered the other half of the Scissor Blade, with it she formed the Scissor Blade to its original form, Rendering Scissors, which has its finishing move too!

Wiz: And although Ryūko had slain her father's killer, as it turns out, Ryūko wasn't as much of an orphan as she had guessed, turns out the one behind all of Honnōji's activity was her mother, Ragyo Kiryuin. And Satsuki, the one who she had initially confronted at the start for her revenge quest, her sister.

Boomstick: And so Mumma Ragyo decided to show her appreciation by ripping Ryūko's heart from her chest, which only a mother like her could do. But Ryūko powered through that, getting her heart back and ultimately teaming with her sister to double team their mother into destruction. Even taking on a super-powerful form called Kisaragi.

Wiz: Although Ryūko overcame much, she's not flawless. Ryūko isn't much of a strategist, and it's usually Senketsu who acts as the level-headed one. But its Ryūko who has to act. She's also considerably hot-headed and mostly favours instinct over logic.

Boomstick: Yeah, she can be a bit of a "Punch first, ask questions later" kind of girl, she also has a berserk mode she can fall into if she becomes too angry, and that form drains her blood much faster than any form of Senketsu.

Wiz: Her regeneration also has limits too. If parts of her body are cut from both sides simultaneously, like cutting with scissors, she cannot regenerate. Though doing so requires extreme precision, as even a minuscule scrap of the skin or a single thread of Life Fiber is enough for Ryūko to regenerate.

Boomstick: Though I wouldn't try it, this girl is beyond tough, and no matter how much you put her through, she's going to come out tougher than before, I wouldn't cross this girl for even a second.

Ryūko: If you don't try to win with everything you have, it'll come back to bite you.

DEATH BATTLE![]

The Empire was experiencing a sort of peacetime, there wasn't any major conflict happening within or outside of its borders, to the surprise of a few. Especially the Revolutionary Army, who were waiting for any sign of Empire activity, only to realize as days went on, that the Empire was seemingly inactive, and as a result, the Revolutionary Army didn't go into battles often, mostly just spending this downtime refining their skill and ensuring they'd be stronger when next the two factions would do battle.

Within the Revolutionary Army was a group known as Night Raid, the party was taking advantage of the Empire's lack of involvement by undertaking missions that saw that away from the Empire's territory. With this in mind, some of Night Raid's members simply continued to remain on guard, refusing to let their guard down. In the main meeting room for the group, was one of their members, a woman dressed in black wearing an eyepatch over her right eye, and also sporting a robotic right arm. This was the head of the group, Najenda, who looks like she woke up early.

"She'll be here any moment now." Najenda thought to herself. And as she had correctly concluded, she was soon joined by one of her group's members, Najenda had enlisted her group's members to partake in missions of interest to ensure they did not get sloppy while the Empire way away. And for Najenda, she could not possibly fathom one of her earliest members losing her touch. "Good morning, Akame". Najenda greeted her associate as she approached the desk.

"Good morning, Najenda" Akame replied. With her eye, Najenda noted Akame looked ready for yet another day of training, though things were about to change. "I take it that you're going to do the usual today?" Najenda pondered aloud. Akame chimed in quickly, "Yes, we never know when the Jaegers or anyone of interest may reemerge". The head of the group smiled as she rose from her chair and walked about, maintaining the conversation.

"As you know, most of Night Raid is away pursuing targets, I was in town earlier today and discovered people were talking about a rather suspicious person outside known Empire territory." Najenda recollecting her observations. "And you want me to hunt this person?" Akame asked. "Correct, I have no doubt you can deduce the true nature of this supposed assailant". "Very well, I will carry out your mission, immediately." Akame accepting it promptly.

"I wish you good luck, Akame", Najenda added. Akame closed the door behind her and made a start on her departure. With her standard equipment ready by her side, Akame exited Night Raid's hideout, as she started heading further out of town, she too began to hear whispers of a suspicious person, even hearing claims that she attacks those who approach her. Akame absorbed this information like a sponge. Noting in her mind the details of this alleged attacker. As she continued her commute, the chatter began to die down, and soon it became quiet.

Akame gazed up overhead to see the large walls that composed the barriers of the Empire's land, and the gate needed to travel outside their area. Since there was no official presence, Akame was able to freely move in and out of their territory. Though this wasn't the first time passing through these walls. Akame kept walking, as she did, she recalled memories prior, and they momentarily took hold of her mind. Though she soon snapped herself back into reality. She maintained her current course, knowing this was the way she needed to go.

Meanwhile, in a forest, a girl wandered. Looking around and seeing if she could find the way out, "Damn it Senketsu, how'd we get stuck in here!" the girl shouted, though not to anyone nearby, she seemingly just shouted out to nothing. The girl heard a masculine voice respond to her. "Well, to be honest, I don't know how we got here either, but I think the best move would be to find a way out and seek assistance." This appeared to be the individual named Senketsu whom the girl shouted out to.

"Oh alright..." The girl became dismayed at the suggestion. But from the corner of her eye, she took notice of flickering light. "Look at that Senketsu! We found ourselves a way out of here! Let's go!" the girl enthusiastically shouted. "Now we're getting somewhere, Ryūko." At the moment a nice breeze gushed through, Ryūko Matoi felt it come over her, things were starting to look up, Ryūko looked up for a moment, seeing that it was day time, though more so in the earlier hours of the day.

With her exit approaching, Ryūko finally stepped out of the forest, immediately she notices the gargantuan structure that towered above all. "Woah, that's enormous!" Ryūko took a moment to take in the sight, it reminded her of the walls that surrounded Honnōji Academy. And just like in that instance, Ryūko decided she was going to march right into this new place and see what she could uncover for herself. Though she had hardly any idea where to enter.

"Well, just look around Ryūko, we'll find a footpath or something to show the way." Senketsu communing with Ryūko. "Alright, alright." Ryūko retorted. Turning to her right, Ryūko walked where she shortly thereafter realized there was a footpath she could take, which gave her some sense of direction finally. In a few short moments, Ryūko was finally headed toward the city.

As she kept walking, she finally noticed someone in the distance, with the presence of another person, Ryūko continued forward, knowing that wherever that person came from, they must've come from within those giant walls. The two individuals closing the distance as they approached one another, Ryūko didn't think much of the person she passed but did notice she was a girl similar in age to herself and had black hair too. Ryūko continued walking, though a few seconds later she stopped hearing the footsteps of the person she passed.

"You...", the girl's voice reached Ryūko's ears. "Who are you?" the sound of something metallic quickly caught Ryūko's attention as she stopped moving, but her back still to the girl. "Be careful Ryūko, this girl looks dangerous." Senketsu's level-headedness taking effect almost immediately. Ryūko turned around to see it was indeed the girl she passed, but with a sword now raised, pointed at her. "I haven't done anything, so put that damn sword away." Ryūko annoyed by a seemingly unwarranted threat.

Though for Akame, not only had she not seen a girl like this before, but she certainly looked like something of a delinquent. This was enough for her, and so she readied herself. "Eliminate." Akame delivered emotionlessly. Her foot sprung from the ground as Akame rapidly approached the girl. "Ryūko, it's time to fight!" Senketsu alerting Ryūko immediately. Ryūko reached into one of her pockets and retrieved one-half of scissors, enlarging it as soon as it entered her hand.

Cut what you will

(Cue Ryūko's Theme - Kill la Kill IF)

Akame delivered an overhead swing with Murasame, ready to strike her opponent down, but Ryūko's Scissor Blade quickly took form and blocked her opponent's attack. Akame was momentarily taken off guard by the sudden defence Ryūko was able to muster. Nevertheless, Akame continued her assault, swinging Murasame more carefully as to not overextend. Ryūko quickly went on the defensive, successfully blocking Akame's swings and crossing her Scissor Blade with Murasame repeatedly. Although she was defending, Ryūko was perfectly capable of keeping up the pace.

As she continued to deliver strike after strike, Akame noted her opponent's capability to defend constantly for so long. Thinking of alternative ways to fight, Akame leapt into the air and spun herself, building momentum and delivering a harder sword swing on Ryūko, though the approach from above didn't catch Ryūko off guard, and she successfully defend that attack as well. Akame landed back on the ground. Ryūko took that moment to approach Akame and swung her Scissor Blade. Though Akame was able to successfully block.

Now with an offensive of her own, Ryūko started swinging her Scissor Blade more ferociously, and so the roles of the battle quickly swapped, Ryūko now pushed the offensive, and Akame now on the defence. "What an unusual weapon, could it be a Teigu that no one has ever seen before?" Akame noted in her mind, using what brief moments of the time she had to observe the Scissor Blade. Ryūko drove a much fiercer offensive than Akame, causing the assassin of Night Raid to walk backward to keep her opponent from landing a direct hit early on.

As the offensive continued, the two travelled back down the footpath and were headed further away from the walls of the Empire, and instead, the fight was being led out further into uninhabited territories. Realizing this shift in location as it developed, Akame figured the fight itself was bound to change as well. Ryūko continued to sustain her offensive might, keeping Akame from putting any kind of counterattack into effect. With her confidence beginning to soar as a result.

Wanting to land a solid attack, Ryūko swung her Scissor Blade much harder, the potency of her swung took Akame by surprise and the attack knocked Akame back several feet, though still standing. The two girls took a brief moment to gather themselves, neither were remotely fatigued, both still felt completely capable of fighting to their fullest. Akame, within the small-time she had, observed her surroundings properly. Ryūko noticed Akame averted her eyes for some reason.

Such an opportunity was too great to pass up, Ryūko held her Scissor Blade firmly and rushed toward Akame as fast as she could, Akame's felt the murderous vibe coming from Ryūko, alerting her immediately. With her successfully anticipating Ryūko, Akame evaded her opponent's attack, which surprised Ryūko. But with more information attained, Akame understood her opponent intended to kill her. With this information now confirmed, every action taken from here on out was backed up by murderous intent.

Momentarily taken by surprise, Ryūko adjusted her attacks. Following Akame's evasive manoeuvers, Ryūko swung the Scissor Blade, again and again, trying to land a solid strike that would push through and overwhelm her opponent. Akame observed the continued ferocity in her opponent, and also the lack of regard being put into them, simple straight-forward sluggers approach. Akame continued to play the defensive role, knowing that Ryūko can only mount an offensive for so long before succumbing to fatigue.

At least, that's the thought process that ran through Akame's mind. The logic was sound and would undoubtedly play a role. But to Akame's surprise, Ryūko was just persevering without any trouble. Keeping that shining confidence on her face. Akame decided she needed to start making hits or she was going to never gain any kind of upper hand. Akame dashed to the right, avoiding one of Ryūko's swings. Ryūko stopped herself and took a moment to look around, trying to locate Akame.

"Be careful Ryūko, we don't know who we are dealing with here" Senketsu imploring Ryūko to act cautiously in the face of uncertainty. "Don't worry Senketsu, things'll be fine." Ryūko passively set aside Senketsu's words, and maintained her watch, looking for Akame. She heard footsteps rapidly approaching her, their volume increasing, Ryūko looked and saw Akame running at her, even leaping into the air to strike. Though Ryūko had ample time, she raised the Scissor Blade and blocked the strike from above.

Though despite her efforts, Akame's strength came up short, and she proved ineffective. Seeing that she was potentially putting herself back into a disadvantageous position, she landed on the ground and looked at her opponent. "You're something else", Akame claimed. Ryūko wasn't quite sure what Akame was going on about. "Ryūko, it's time to show our strength." Senketsu finally said something Ryūko was liking the sound of. "Alright, Senketsu, let's go!"

Raising her left arm, Ryūko displayed her Seki Tesso Glove, she then reached for the pin located on her glove and pulled it off with a single finger. With the clip now pulled from her glove, Senketsu finally gained the ability to take action. With a single pin, Senketsu pierced Ryūko's skin and commenced drawing blood from her body. Extracting the essential ingredient, Senketsu was soon covered with Ryūko's blood, her clothing appearing crimson all over.

Refusing to allow her opponent such blatant free time, Akame rushed toward Ryūko in an attempt to stop her. But a flash of white light blinded Akame before she could get close. Mere moments later, Ryūko was surrounded by a red and black field. From within that field, Ryūko, though stripped of her clothing, was about to become much stronger. Senketsu quickly got to work, covering Ryūko and transforming her. Her hair became more feathery and stands more upward. Senketsu formed Ryūko's attire, Senketsu's eyes extend into wing-shaped extrusions from Ryūko's shoulders.

"Life Fiber Synchronize, Kamui Senketsu!" Ryūko shouted, as her transformation neared completion. With her legs and arms also gaining the black and red armour, her skirt supported by two belts that reached from her chest, though the underside of her breasts and her waist were left exposed. But Ryūko had grown to accept the nature of her transformation, and so she completed her transformation boldly.

With Akame witnessing the whole process, she momentarily pondered if Ryūko possessed a Teigu that empowered her clothing to such a degree, but before Akame could further ponder, energy launched from Ryūko's back, as though she were a jet fighter about to take off. Digging her heels into the ground, Ryūko held her Scissor Blade overhead, ready to strike. Her speed had become much faster, and this alarmed Akame immediately.

"She's fast!" Akame noted. But now Ryūko was much, much faster, and Akame was not adequately prepared. Ryūko, now utilizing her True Life Fiber Synchronized state, took the offensive and immediately put her opponent back onto the defensive. Though Ryūko's overhead swing did allow Akame to raise Murasame in the nick of time, though it was only a little relief, as now Ryūko was attacking at much faster speeds. Feeling the strength in her opponent's blows, Akame devised a strategy in her mind.

(Cue Super Saiyan Future Gohan - Dragon Ball Z: Dokkan Battle)

Developing this strategy in seconds, Akame maintained her defence as best she could. "Keep going, Ryūko!" Senketsu's encouraging words warmed Ryūko up, and she resumed her attacks. In seconds, Ryūko finally starting to break through, her attacks were becoming too quick for Akame to effectively defend against. One swing from her Scissor Blade and Ryūko tore down Akame's defence. Looking to land a finishing blow with her advantage practically unstoppable.

With Akame still trying to regain her composure, Ryūko decided it was time to strike true, and hard. "Senketsu!" With Ryūko's command, the handle on her Scissor Blade shifted, extending the length of the handle. Ryūko grabbed this extension of the handle with her right hand, with the Scissor Blade now in the position, the blade of her weapon unfolded, doubling its length. With the blade now ready, Ryūko and Senketsu shouted in unison, "Scissor Blade! Decapitation Mode!"

With Akame now back to normal, she looked only to see Ryūko, shouting at the top of her lungs, about to swing her Scissor Blade. Akame knew evasion was the only option now. Ryūko swung her Scissor Blade, Akame rushed out of range as best she could. The Scissor Blade struck the ground, cutting into it and leaving a curved slash embedded in the ground. Ryūko looked to see Akame, but she wasn't there. Vanished.

"Alright then, so that's how we're gonna play it, huh", Ryūko said aloud to herself. "Don't get comfortable Ryūko", Senketsu warned. The two, although working together, approached the situation differently. Meanwhile, Akame stood on the branch of a tree. With the fight having been pushed so far from the Empire's borders, they ended up is more desolate and foresty environments. Akame concealed herself to the best of her ability, but momentarily put her left hand over her right arm, the Scissor Blade managed to strike Akame, albeit narrowly, and the blood was slowly pouring out.

Knowing that even spilled blood could reveal her presence, Akame wiped her hand across her wound, smudging the blood and smearing it onto her left hand. With her wound now inspected and tended to, Akame put her attention back to the wandering Ryūko, who just walked aimlessly. Akame successfully managed to get away and remain hidden for long enough. Now that she had the time for it. Akame observed her opponent, analyzing her movements and her skin-exposing attire.

Looking around, Ryūko grew a little irritated that her foe just vanished like that. Though just after that though, Ryūko noticed an anomaly on the ground, the earthly ground had several drops of blood on it, "Ah, so I did get her after all", Ryūko commented. Ryūko slowly lowered herself onto her knee and reached out to the blood in front of her, but before she reached it, Ryūko heard the sound of leaves rustling, she averted her eyes, but as she looked, she felt a solid object slide across her waist, though she felt it simply press against her skin, non-piercing.

Akame had attempted to cut Ryūko on her exposed skin, but this proved to be futile. Akame was alarmed that the cut had not been carried out, despite Akame's proper timing and patience to perfect the attack. Ryūko decided to try to land an attack of her own, swinging her Scissor Blade. Despite this, Akame anticipated a close-quarters attack and leapt backward, successfully evading the blade's swing, and since the Scissor Blade was back to its normal form, its range was back to normal.

With some range afforded to her, Akame landed on the ground and promptly rushed at Ryūko, who was still rising from her knee. With the Murasame at the ready, Akame swung her sword repeatedly, striking at Ryūko who was still capable of defending herself with her Scissor Blade. Ryūko made a gallant effort, but her position was compromising. Akame performed a vertical slash upward, which Ryūko couldn't defend against, and her looser grip pushed the Scissor Blade upward, exposing Ryūko. Akame didn't waste any time and swung Murasame.

With a guaranteed strike, Akame slashed at Ryūko in the same place she did before, on the waist. But yet again, the blade did not cut Ryūko's skin, Akame was now certain the first attempt was not a near miss. Ryūko realized her opponent hadn't struck hard enough, "Hey, is your sword too blunt?" Ryūko laughed to herself as she clenched her fist and punched Akame in the stomach, the force of said punch launching Akame several meters and through at least two trees, collapsing them.

Ryūko climbed back onto her feet and kept hold of her Scissor Blade, she approached the collapsed tres where Akame would have been, but once again, the girl has vanished. "Looks like she's trying to strike at us without being seen", Senketsu commented. "Well, she can try all she wants, I don't think her sword is quite cut out for the job it's supposed to do." Ryuko confidently dismissing Akame's Murasame. "Don't ignore the danger, Ryūko!" Senketsu reprimanding Ryūko for being ignorant.

Up in the trees, Akame quieted herself, though the pain was fairly excruciating. It fully resonated with her that Ryūko was on another level. She kept her presence concealment active for as long as necessary. Ryūko looked through the forest, seeing if she could spot Akame, but there was barely a trace for her to follow. So Ryūko simply went back out to the clear land where they had been fighting. "Don't forget Ryūko, she's still around here somewhere" Senketsu imparting more words of wisdom.

Though Ryūko was just itching to get back to the fight. As for Akame, she remained ever so quiet, suppressing her pain as best she could. She knew it was within her ability to resume fighting, but she had been observing her opponent's strengths and the fact she had incredible durable skin, "Is her Teigu some kind of armour that matches Incursio?" Akame pondered in her thoughts. "There's no other way her skin could be as tough as her armour", Akame concluded such in her mind.

Factoring in this information, Akame considered an alternative strategy. One idea came to mind, but it was not necessary at this time. For now, Akame surrendered to her ongoing strategy. She jumped from one tree to another, looking to gauge a suitable angle to strike from. Ryūko begins to grow impatient, she approaches one of the trees and in a fit of irritation, cuts down a tree with a single swing from Scissor Blade, completely toppling the tree over. Akame noticed this and realized her only cover was going to be compromised unless she acted now.

After landing on a tree that provided her with the right angle, Akame leapt forward, rushing toward Ryūko, who looked like she had a problem with trees. Seeing Ryūko was blinded by annoyance, Akame exploited this and once again attempted to cut Ryūko in the same spot. However, this time Akame anticipated her blade not cutting Ryūko, so after her attempt, she quickly rushed to get some distance from Ryūko, who felt the blade, and stopped cutting trees.

Standing up and ready to confront Akame, Ryūko quickly noticed that Akame didn't appear on her own, it appeared there was about four Akame, like a group. Ryūko rushed toward one of the Akame and swung her blade, but as the Scissor Blade went through, it seemingly phased through her, "What the hell!" Ryūko shouted. She stopped, but that was an error Akame was ready to exploit, in the few seconds Ryūko stood still Akame ceased her afterimages and rushed toward Ryūko, slashing at her waist. Though despite the slash being much quicker, it did not pierce the skin.

Thinking that this girl must be crazy to just keep striking the same area with an ineffective sword, Ryūko only becomes more annoyed, infuriated in fact. "Ryūko, don't get too worked up!" Senketsu desperately trying to warn Ryūko of potentially going berserk. Soon enough, Ryūko started becoming a bit more level headed. She looked to her right to see Akame standing there, "Huh, so you've decided to stay and fight this time, huh?" Ryūko providing commentary on Akame's fleeing and reappearance.

Though Akame didn't say anything in response, instead, she stared right at Ryūko. Seeing that her opponent was a woman of few words, Ryūko readied the Scissor Blade for another attack, as she primed her weapon for attack, Akame leapt into the air and vanished into the trees once again. Ryūko decided it was time for fools to stop hiding, Ryūko extended her Scissor Blade into its Decapitation Mode once again, she and Senketsu repeated their technique's name as Ryūko swung at all the trees in front of her.

With a clean chop, almost all the trees were toppled and collapsed over, including the tree Akame situated herself atop. Akame felt the tree beginning to tip over, seeing no other option. Akame leapt from her tree into the air, Ryūko looked overhead to see Akame soaring through the skies. She watched as Akame's descent saw her land within the trees behind her. Ryūko turned around and saw that at least half the trees nearby were still completely intact.

Seeing that her opponent was still committed to hiding, Ryūko performed her technique once again, "Scissor Blade! Decapitation Mode!" Ryūko and Senketsu shouted simultaneously. Now all of the trees nearby had been levelled, all of them laying on the ground, cut off from their roots. Ryūko returned her Scissor Blade to normal length. And watched as all her immediate surroundings left her opponent with nowhere left to hide. And just as Ryūko correctly suspected, Akame landed on the ground at incredible speeds, even making a brief gust of wind upon touchdown.

"You got no more trees to hide behind now! Fight me like you truly mean it!" Ryūko feels satisfied in depriving Akame of a chance to hide. But just like before, Akame did not speak, in fact, now she looked angrier than she had ever been throughout this entire encounter. "Oh, you look pretty pissed!" Ryūko provoking Akame further. But Akame simply maintained her seemingly enraged facial expression, but then she closed her eyes, which Ryūko was a little puzzled by.

(Cue Gekisen - Akame ga Kill!)

With her eyes closed, Akame's body began to emit a dark aura, enveloping her body. Red markings start forming on Akame's body, her arms, legs, body, and face. Akame opened her eyes, her scleras shifted from white to pitch black, surrounding and magnifying Akame's red pupils. Akame successfully activated her sword's trump card, Little War Horn. Ryūko recognized Akame's changes, and she decided to change as well.

"Come on Senketsu!" Ryūko insisted. "Right!" Senketsu responded. Senketsu then began to change the shape of his armour on Ryūko. Senketsu extrudes many blades from all, some forming on the wing-shaped extrusions on Ryūko's shoulders, the two belts that joined the upper half and skirt on Ryūko. Ryūko's skirt sported blades themselves. Some blades even stretched from Ryūko's gloves, akin to claws. All these blades were blood-red in colour. This was one of Senketsu's stronger forms, Senketsu Senjin.

With both of the girls now enhanced, the two rushed at each other, the two clashed their blades promptly, the two fought for the power advantage, though both girls refused to budge against the other. Both backed off one another as they took a moment, but just like that, the two were back at it again, Ryūko still having the speed in her favour, approached Akame. Murasame and Scissor Blade clashed again, though Akame made a vicious attack to try and put Ryūko onto the defensive.

Feeling comfortable in her ability, Ryūko sidestepped the sword swing. A window of opportunity presented itself for Ryūko. Holding the Scissor Blade ready to land a direct strike, Ryūko was suddenly slammed by Akame, who shunted herself directly into Ryūko, completely cancelling out her swing. Ryūko staggered a little, she had not once seen Akame attack her physically, it was completely unexpected. Akame proceeded to swing Murasame once again, but Ryūko evaded the swing, and now she was feeling like replicating Akame's surprise attack.

Clenching her right fist, Ryūko delivered a direct punch to Akame's head, the strength knocked Akame to her knees, though she still kept hold of Murasame. Ryūko, now with a far more likely chance to strike her opponent, grabbed hold of the Scissor Blade with two hands, holding it by her sid. Akame was slowly climbing back to her feet, and just before she faced upright, Ryūko swung her Scissor Blade with her body turning right, the blade directly struck Akame on the face, leaving a now bleeding cut mark on her face. Relishing in the success of her attack, Ryūko prepared to swing her blade a second time, this time being swung as she turned herself left. She swung the Scissor Blade at Akame's head once again.

Suddenly the Scissor Blade was halted in its tracks, Ryūko's eyes widened when she realized Akame had grabbed the blade with her bare hand. Akame smiled, "I see...", her words were equally as chilling as the sight Ryūko had in front of her. Akame delivered a kick right on Ryūko, knocking her back several meters. Ryūko stabbed the Scissor Blade into the ground to try and slow herself down. In just a second or two, Ryūko came to a halt, seeing the trail in the ground she created.

Ryūko only had a moment to herself before she noticed Akame was rushing up to her. Ryūko grit her teeth, knowing she couldn't take the time to slow down. But Ryūko hatched an instinctual plan, she remained on the spot, allowing Akame to approach her. Ryūko pulled her Scissor Blade from the ground, successfully blocking a slash from Murasame. Ryūko then pushed Murasame away from her Scissor Blade and shoved the handle of her Scissor Blade in Akame's face.

A successful plan carried out, Ryūko smiled, though it only amounted to temporarily effectiveness against Akame. With her foe unable to attack for this brief moment, Ryūko rapidly approached Akame and swung the Scissor Blade again, striking Akame on the waist, cutting through her clothes and piercing her skin. The cut extended and tore off most of Akame's lower torso. Though Akame did experience a brief instinctual need to wince in pain, she quickly regained her stern composure.

With yet another successful attack, Ryūko took notice of the cut she had inflicted upon Akame. The two girls looked at each other once again, both acknowledging the strength the other possesses. Akame rushed forward, but before she got close to Ryūko, she leapt into the air, and made her descent quickly, as though she was a bolt of lightning. Ryūko raised the Scissor Blade, holding it horizontally to blade Akame's vertical slash with Murasame. Akame tightened her grip on Murasame, pushing harder and harder. Ryūko applied similar grip intensification to the Scissor Blade. The two girls had committed to this blade lock.

The two blades locked against one another, but Ryūko wanted to break up the locked blades, using both her hands, Ryūko pushed Akame upward and away from her. Using this air time to her advantage, Akame jumped so that she could gain a few meters distance from Ryūko. She landed on the ground with grace and immediately kept her eyes locked on Ryūko, refusing to avert her eyes for anything, or anyone else. The real struggle was going on in Akame's mind. "I don't have much more of this. I need to end this real soon". Akame thought to herself, vowing she would bring an end to the battle before Little War Horn runs out.

Meanwhile, Ryūko maintained her focus on Akame, knowing she had nowhere to hide, or any more trickery to exploit in her favour. The two girls both stood still, gazing at one another with their equally sharp faces, refusing to show the other the signs of fatigue slowly beginning to set in. Keeping up this appearance was all these two could visually display, or at least that's all they knew they do. They refused to show any sign of weakness or vulnerability to the other.

Without averting her eyes, Ryūko slashed the Scissor Blade, clearing Akame's blood from the blade's end. The thought did not bother Akame, any blood she had lost by now meant little to her. Ryūko assumed a stance. Akame moved her sword into position, pointed forward, directly toward Ryūko. Akame and Ryūko closely observed each other. Both noting areas of interest they would like to strike. Though this was something they both concluded at almost the same time.

Of the two, Akame made the first move. She started by walking rather slowly, but with one of her steps, she drastically accelerated, using her maximum speed to approach Ryūko. The two met in the middle once again. Trading swings with one another, their weapons repeatedly clashing with one another. With the two weapons locking against each other once again, the two girls glared each other directly in the eye. Though Ryūko yet again chose to act on her instincts.

The position of the two weapons was in an "X" formation, which allowed for the two to see each other, although their blades certainly made it dangerous for them to get too close. Akame suddenly pushing harder than Ryūko, and she could feel her strength was being overtaken. Ryūko then resorted to one of the oldest solutions she knew would work. Ryūko angrily headbutt Akame directly, sending the girl back just a couple feet and ending the clash of weapons.

Now that an opportunity came along, Ryūko felt her stamina was beginning to wear down, and so she needed to make these new few hits count. Ryūko readied her Scissor Blade, aiming to slice at Akame's legs, Akame recovered in time to notice Ryūko was aiming her swing a lot lower. Knowing that could only mean a strike at the legs was coming. And with enough time Akame was able to leap into the air as Ryūko swung her blade.

To Ryūko's surprise, Akame jumped incredibly high. She looked up to notice that Akame was holding her sword over her head, aiming to make a vertical downward slash. With ample time, Ryūko prepared to counterattack, but instead of repeating another sword clash, Ryūko decided to favour evasion instead of falling into that same trap of a blade lock again. As Akame descended, she slashed Murasame, but Ryūko successfully dodged the attack, Ryūko then reached into her pocket and rushed toward Akame at the same time.

Akame yelled as she felt something stab directly into her body, Ryūko smiled devilishly as the second half of her Scissor Blade was drawn out of her pocket and was adjusted to its normal size just to stab Akame in her lower torso, the same area Ryūko cut along earlier. Akame recoiled as she recognized the pain. A number of the spikes of Senketsu Senjin also struck Akame, though none compared to the Scissor Blade.

But in that very next moment, Akame smiled and gazed directly into Ryūko's eyes. Ryūko was stunned that Akame had taken impalement like that and was still able to put up a smile. Akame truly felt demonic, and without wasting a second of precious time, she yelled and slashed at Ryūko's waist with no regard for her impalement. Akame's enhanced strength kicked in and the vicious, stronger slash successfully pierced Ryūko's skin.

With that jolting sensation of pain, Ryūko backed up, it was the first time she had been pierced as opposed to being hit with a blunt object. She pulled the Scissor Blade's other half out from her foe. Akame dropped onto her knees, still holding Murasame. Ryūko now with both halves of the Scissor Blade connected them, forming their original state, the Rendering Scissors. Now that they looked like a giant pair of scissors, Ryūko walked over to Akame and opened the Scissors, ready to cut.

Suddenly, Ryūko felt her heart pulsate heavily and then cease. Ryūko panicked, trying to figure out what's happening with her body, she checked her body for any injuries, only to realize there were no cuts or any external damage done to her body. She then glanced down at her waste to see black markings were travelling across her body. Paralyzed with fear, Ryūko didn't know what to do, and soon she struggled to even think, as her body started to fail due to a lack of blood pumping throughout.

Ryūko looked over at Akame, who was slowly rising back to her feet. Ryūko dropped the Rendering Scissors. as she swapped places with Akame, she was now the one on her knees. The black markings continued to extend their coverage of Ryūko's body. "Ryūko!" Senketsu shouted! But it proved to be meaningless, without oxygen-rich blood going to her brain and the rest of her organs, Ryūko was unable to act. She dropped to the ground, as she struggled further and further.

Little War Horn's effect wore off around that same time. Akame could feel her body was still heavy. Although the red markings had disappeared, scars were left behind where they once were. Akame inspected her impalement, seeing that it did not reach any vital areas. But was in the same area where she had been cut along. Akame saw a piece of her torn shirt laying on the ground. She went over and retrieved it, though it did not serve many purposes.

Akame momentarily wiped some of her blood with her torn piece of clothing. She looked over at Ryūko and realized she had finally succumbed to the poison. "A threat eliminated". Akame departed, heading for Night Raid's HQ.

Conclusion[]

(Cue Skyreach (Instrumental) - Akame ga Kill!)

Boomstick: Woah, that one was a bit too close to call! Though I swear, I thought Ryūko would've had this in the bag.

Wiz: Well, Ryūko does possess key advantages. She is certainly faster than Akame, considering Ryūko's fastest attack, Mach 4528.3, is over five times quicker than Akame's fastest defence, Mach 825.5. There are forms Ryūko could have used that would have given her the win. Such as Senketsu Kisaragi.

Boomstick: However, her later forms are quite situational, Kisaragi itself required the Life Fibers from everyone in Honnōji Academy. Ryūko was never going to get that many Life Fibers before a fight like this since we look at who wins overall without specific situations, it wouldn't be fair to allow Kisaragi like that.

Wiz: Exactly. At the immediate outset, it's easy to think that Ryūko's sheer speed could have simply overwhelmed Akame. But Akame's superior training meant she wasn't going to just blindly keep herself in the open to be attacked, once she had the chance, Akame retreated to safety where she could analyze her opponent.

Boomstick: Akame's espionage and combat training let her effectively develop a strategy and plan of attack, Akame has trained in those fields since she was a child, giving her so much more experience compared to Ryūko, who only started her journey six months before the start of her series.

Wiz: Ryūko is barely much of a strategist, as such it is incredibly unlikely she would develop well-thought-out plans herself, instead favouring instinct over logic. Senketsu is her voice of reason, but Ryūko is the one in control, so it's up to her and the decisions she makes.

Boomstick: While both had stronger forms they could take, Ryūko's Senjin and Shippu are evolutions of Senketsu, and don't have many feats tied to them. On the other hand, Little War Horn is Akame's Trump Card, and she used it to great effect battling and successfully killing General Esdeath. And it all thanks to her buffs in strength, speed, and durability.

Wiz: Akame's leg was even pierced by one of Esdeath's attacks, and she brushed it off and went jumping off walls as though nothing happened. Akame could certainly withstand cuts and being impaled by the Scissor Blade. But this still leaves the all-important question. Can Murasame slice Ryūko's skin?

Boomstick: During her fight with Wave, Akame struck the same place on Grand Chariot multiple times. And she ultimately broke Grand Chariot's armour, considering Ryūko leaves a lot of skin exposed, and with the boosted strength from Little War Horn, Akame had the strength to pierce Ryūko's skin and give her a poisonous surprise, looks like Akame ga Killed it in this fight!

Wiz: The winner is Akame.
