History[]
At the age of 7, Ai was chosen to be sacrificed to a mountain for the Seven Sendings. However, her cousin Sentarou led her to a place in the mountains where she could not be harmed. For 3 years, Sentarou delivered food to her, and she developed a romantic relationship with him. After 3 years had passed, a group of boys found Ai and dragged her back to the village, being buried alive, alongside her parents. As she was buried, she realized that Sentarou had given away her location, and felts angry as he had betrayed her. After being buried alive, she resurrected and burned down her entire town, which attracted the Master of Hell. Wanting to save her parents, who she believed did not belong in Hell, she was forced to become the Hell Girl, and work for the Master of Hell as a ferrywoman, taking people to their doom through request for 400 years.
