Nebula: Are you fools going to let him grab the power?! What right has he to [the Infinity Gauntlet]??

Adam Warlock: The right of possession. That is enough. The infinite power is now Adam Warlock's. Seek not to dispute that claim.

~ Nebula & Adam Warlock - Infinity Gauntlet #6 (December, 1991)

Looks like there's a new supreme being in the neighborhood. And he will deal with all matters in his own fashion.
~ Adam Warlock - Infinity Gauntlet #6 (December, 1991)

So, mage, you have elected to stop speaking about me, and begin speaking to me. In that case, I shall let natural la hold sway again -- so that centrifugal force may carry the planets -- back to their boring orbits and equally boring sun. Now... shall we talk?
~ Adam Warlock to Doctor Strange - Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme #36 (December, 1991)

Adam Warlock: What is it you seek, Titan?

Thanos: Your aid.

Gamora: This guy wanted to waste you a little while ago and in my vision! He's dangerous to you!

Adam Warlock: And a mystery! I cannot resist unraveling a good mystery.''

~ Adam Warlock, Thanos, and Gamora - Warlock and the Infinity Watch #17 (June, 1993)

Have you so soon forgotten our last encounter, Mephisto? Do you not recall your agonizing fate when before you challenged my Soul Gem? Remember too that contest took place within your precious Hades where you once thought yourself supreme! Defy me now and your very existence stands in peril!
~ Adam Warlock - Warlock Chronicles #3 (September, 1993)

I see now that even without you, I am complete! While you... you are but evil. You will be forever but a shade.
~ Adam Warlock the the Magus - Warlock Chronicles #4 (October, 1993)

See now, dear delegates, the power of Adam Warlock alone. I and my Infinity Watch have chosen Earth as our home. Given the chance we will prove to be good neighbours. But continue to harass us and we shall turn unfriendly - perhaps even hostile. Trust me, you wouldn't like seeing us like that.
~ Warlock and the Infinity Watch #28 (May, 1994)

Don't apologize. Remember, we still hold one supreme advantage over them. They think I'm dead. And while they believe that, they will be absolutely unprepared for what I am about to unleash.
~ Adam Warlock as the Magus - Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 #22 (January, 2010)

History

Originally known as "Him," Adam Warlock is an artificial human created by a group of scientists called "the Enclave." Their goal was for him to be the perfect human being, guiding the future evolution of mankind. However, Him turned on his creators when he sensed their intentions for a benevolent dictatorship under their rule. While he struggled with realizing the moral complexity of the world with the circumstances of his birth, he would find his calling upon being made the protector of Counter-Earth by the High Evolutionary, going on to become a protector of the universe at large as well. In his ensuing travels across the universe, he would encounters threats like Thanos (whose current amnity with him is complicated), the Universal Church of Truth, and his own future evil self known as the Magus; friends such as Gamora (who is from Magus's future) & Pip the Troll, and eventually coming into possession of the Soul Gem of the six Infinity Gems.
