Description []
RWBY VS Devil May Cry The road to hell is paved with good intentions. The leader of the white fang and the elder son of Sparda embody this quote better than most. With ruthless fighting style's and blades sharper than most, this match is gonna get dicey.
Interlude []
Scythe: One's road to hell is often paved with good intentions. Sometimes the path of villainly stems from the corruption of a hero, and the loss of one's faith.
Soul: Also anime katana bullshit. Lot of that stuff.
Scythe: Like with Adam Taurus, The White Fang's psychotic former hero.
Soul: And Vergil, The Elder Son of Sparda!
Soul: He's Scythe and I'm Soul!
Scythe: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle.
Adam Taurus[]
Scythe: In the world of Remnant, Faunus are known as, well-
Soul: People with animal parts. Cat ears, monkey tail, bull horns, basically anything. Thing is, they're treated as a lesser class, often discriminated or forced to work as slaves...I get the feeling this was commentary on something-
Adam Taurus: Background[]
- Name: Adam Taurus
- Age: Unknown, likely 19-22
- Height: 6'4"
- Bull Faunus
- Leader of the White Fang
- Mask covers SDC brand over his left eye
Scythe: Growing up in a life of slavery, Adam Taurus developed a natural distain for humans, one that never truly went away after he was either freed or escaped. Eventually, he joined the White Fang, a Faunus group protesting for equal rights.
Soul: It was here however, Adam discovered he was not only a natural leader who could rally others to his cause, but also that he was a really fucking good at fighting!
Adam Taurus: Powers and Arsenal[]
- Brush:
- Serves as a scabbard/sheath for Wilt
- Also a short range rifle
- Can fire off seven rounds at most
- Can also just shoot Wilt out hilt first
- Wilt:
- Based off the Japanese Chokutō sword
- Can release fire from it when swung, likely through Fire Dust
- Used in conjunction with Adam's Semblance
- Semblance: Moonslice
- Absorbs attack energy with Wilt, then rebounds it
- Energy can release as a a physical strike or energy projectile
- Allows for create of afterimages with physical properties
- Causes his hair & parts of his clothes to glow red
- Powered by Aura
Scythe: Adam's two weapons are Wilt and Brush. Wilt a Japanese Chokutō sword which Adam uses in a style akin to that of that laijustu, or quickdraw, style, making for an extremely fast paced style of combat difficult for others to handle.
Soul: And it's got fire dust infused into the blade, meaning he can swing explosions from the blade! As if that wasn't enough, the blades sheath Brush is also an automatic rifle, which an shoot up to seven shots without reloading, or even just shoot Wilt out at it's opponent hilt first.
Scythe: Adam, like all others on Remnant, also possesses Aura. Aura is the manifestation of Adam's Spirit, which acts as a shield around his body that protects him from harm. It also doubles as the power to his Semblance, Moonslice.
Soul: With Moonslice, Adam absorbs the energy of any attack be blocks with Wilt, then throws it right back at his opponents. He can do this with a physical strike from his sword, throwing a god damn sword beam at them, sending energy waves along the ground, or fucking Shadow Clone Jutsu! Man, what can't this Semblance do?
Adam Taurus: Feats and Faults[]
- +Cut Yang's arm off in one slice
- +Destroyed the Spider-Droid with a single strike using Moonslice
- +Expert leader and strategist
- +Took out an entire group of people by himself
- +Nearly killed Blake and Yang, twice
- -Needs Wilt to use Moonslice
- -Aura is finite
- -Spiteful, Obsessive, Unstable, and prone to anger
- When enraged, looses most sense of tactical thinking
Scythe: That being Adam NEEDS Wilt to absorb the hits for Moonslice to work, making it unique among Semblances as an ability Adam requires an additional tool to activate.
Soul: Couldn't he just do it with like, a rock though?
Scythe: Well he's also Spiteful, Obsessive, Unstable, and extremely easy to anger, so he's probably not gonna think of that while yelling. Still, that's not to undersell him. When he can keep a level-head, he's still a very tactical fighter, one who is more then capable of nearly killing other equally skilled fighters, taking down entire groups of people alone, and destroying building sized mechs in one slice.
Soul: Unfortunately for Adam, his rage and hatred was his ultimate downfall. His hatred for humans grew so much he eventually over-threw the White Fang's leader to start a more violent revolution and take over the world...only for him to die because he got too cocky in a battle against Blake and Yang, leading to him getting a bad case of double-stabbing.
Scythe: A good man fallen from grace, Adam may have once been a man trying to protect his people, but fell as a would-be-tyrant.
Vergil[]
Scythe: Thousands of years ago, the Legendary Dark Knight Sparda broke off from the demon world and sealed them away along with their leader Mundus, becoming the worlds guardian until his death.
Soul: Luckily before that, he popped out two demon babies named Dante and Vergil. Dante was relaxed, cocky, while Vergil was stoic and confident. And you all know exactly where this is going.
Vergil: Background[]
- Name: Vergil
- Height: 6'4" | 1.93 cm
- Weight: approx. 182 lbs | 83 kg
- Humans/Demon Hybrid
- Twin brother of Dante
- Biological father of Nero
- Was once robbed after losing a drinking game
Scythe: Dante and Vergil had a somewhat sibling rivalry going on as kids, but everything changed when demons attacked, seemingly killing both Vergil and their mother Eva that day.
Soul: But Vergil was actually, surprise, not dead! But instead left on a quest to gain the power of Sparda embracing his demonic heritage while rejecting his humanity.
Vergil: Powers and Arsenal[]
- Demonic Powers
- Superhuman stats
- Teleportation
- Rapid regeneration
- Doppleganger
- Devil Trigger
- Sin Devil Trigger
- Yamato
- Demon Katana
- Cuts through dimensions
- Judgment Cut
- Dimensional Slash
- Judgment Cut End
- Beowulf
- Grieves and gauntlets
- Can shoot energized balls of light as projectiles
- Lunar Phase
- Rising Sun
- Starfall
- Summoned Swords
- Spiral Swords
- Storm Swords
- Blistering Swords
- Heavy Rain Swords
Scythe: And should Vergil ever need to battle, he can instantly leap into battle with his Yamato, a legendary demon katana forged by Sparda, and can slice through nearly anything. It can even pierce dimensions, allowing it to bypass conventional durability, send energy projectiles at opponents, and open portals. Yamato is easily one of the most powerful weapons we've seen on Death Battle so far, which Vergil wields in the Quickdraw Style of combat.
Soul: But Vergil isn't purely a swordfighter. Should he desire to slap a bitch's face in, he dawns Beowulf, a pair of gauntlets and grieves that boost his physical striking power and speed. Hell, he can even throw hadoken and shoryuken based attacks with it. Jeez, never pegged Vergil as a street fighter guy. You think he plays Akuma-
Scythe: And Vergil can materialize his demonic energy as Summoned Swords, swords composed of demonic energy, and fire them at enemies with no limit. He can surround himself or enemies with them, line them up on his sides and fire them, or rain them down on foes. Of course, Vergil himself also possesses supernal strength, speed, durability, and endurance.
Soul: He can regenerate from nearly any wound possible, teleport short distances, and even duplicate himself with doppelganger style. Oh! And he has a super mode, Devil Trigger!
Scythe: In Devil Trigger, Vergil gains a massive boost to his power, speed, regeneration, and he gains access to his ultimate attack, the Judgment Cut end, where he charges his power up before slicing through an area with Yamato, ripping through dimensions to destroy everything within the area.
Soul: And there's even a super mode too the super mode, Sin Devil Trigger! He gets faster, stronger, and he can fucking fly! As if he couldn't do enough!
Vergil: Feats and Faults[]
- +Survived being cut in half.
- +Destroyed 108,000 raindrops in less than one second.
- +Escaped an illusion by simply cutting through it.
- +Mastered Devil Trigger long before Dante.
- +Scales to Dante, who caught the Savior's punch.
- +Defeated Arkham, Beowulf, Agnus, Dante.
- -Cocky and prideful
- -Did get brainwashed by Mundus
- -Exhaustion can hamper his combat ability
Scythe: Vergil has survived being cut in half, throw attacks so unbelievably fast they can't be tracked, powered through an illusory attack, and he's matched his brother Dante in power, who beat the continent leveling Abigail and blocked an attack from the equally powerful Savior.
Soul: Oh ya! Vergil eventually found Dante again! You'd think he'd be overjoyed to see his brother, but no. Vergil was resolute in his need for more power, which led to him sealing himself inside hell after basically drawing Dante, only for him to get his ass beat by Mundus. Ya know, the demon king of the Underworld. And then he died...but don't worry, he got better.
Scythe: And after returning from death to once again match Dante, and learn he unintentionally fathered a son, Vergil seems to have finally, somewhat, softened up to his family.
Soul: Even if Nero had to beat it into him.
Scythe: Let the enemies of Vergil beware, for all those who challenge a Son of Sparda will know his fury.
Death Battle[]
Scythe: Alright the combatants are set. Let's end this debate once and for all.
Soul: It's time for a DEATH BATTLE!
Remnant - Outside Argus
The cold air blew as snow fell, and the creatures of negativity, the creatures of Grimm, attacked at a single man. That man being Vergil, the Son of Sparda. Vergil punched a Beowulf Grimm away with, ironically, the Beowulf gauntlets before kicking a larger Ursa into several more. Gripping the Yamato, he preformed a small Judgement cut to rip them to shreds before sheathing his blade.
Vergil: Creatures of darkness...tsk, scum. I cannot see how anyone falls to these.
As Vergil turned to walk away, a man walked out in a black leather jacket with a sword at his side and a mask on his face. Adam reached back and gripped the hilt of Wilt, and Vergil narrowed his eyes.
Cue Therewolf Media - One Winged Devil
Vergil: Who are you?
Adam: I am the enemy of humans. You shall fall here, scum.
Vergil: I hope you can at least provide me an interesting challenge.
Adam lunges forwards and draws Wilt, swinging the blade to clash against the Yamato. The two swords meet a few times as Vergil responds to Adam's attacks with aggression, hitting the Bull Faunus with the hilt of hit katana before sheathing it to charge his energy. Vergil then unleashed a rapid barrage of slashes that Adam blocks with Wilt before sheathing it in Brush.
Adam begins glowing a bright red as he unleashed Moonslice in it's physical strike form, slashing Vergil across the chest to throw him back. Vergil raises a hand to as his wound quickly heals, then smirks.
Vergil: This could be fun.
Adam sheaths Wilt and fires it at Vergil, forcing him to knock the hilt up, only for Adam to throw a kick that Vergil blocks that leaves him open to taking several bullets to the chest before he catches Wilt and stabs Vergil.
Vergil responds in kind by punching Adam in the face with Beowulf, throwing several punches and kicks before releasing a light blast to push Adam back. Vergil speeds ahead and throws an attack that Adam blocks with Wilt, pushing the White Fang's leader back.
Vergil: Hm. So you have some skill. But are you fast enough?
Raising his hand, Vergil forms several summoned swords and fired them forwards, Adam moving to dodge them and deflect the ones he can to charge up Moonslice. Vergil lines the Blistering Swords up and fires, Adam getting the last charge of Moonslice needed before running in and preforming a series of strikes at high speed, leaving solid afterimages as he continues to attack.
Vergil, in response, releases the small Judgement Cut to get rid of the fakes, Adam using the opening to release Moonslice's energy projectile form and blast Vergil backwards. Adam moved in for the impalement when a dark lightning released from Vergil as he entered Devil Trigger.
Vergil: Stop wasting my time!
Adam: What the hell!?
Vergil blasts Adam away with a Dimension Slice and begins draining his Aura with several strikes from Yamato, Adam managing to block a few attacks with Wilt before Vergil sliced down and destroyed Brush. Adam leaps back as Vergil forms the Heavy Rain Swords that Adam blocks one or two of, but mostly just takes all the hits. Adam growls and and charges up Moonslice again, firing the energy wave form forwards-
And Vergil fires a Dimension Slice through it and into Adam, causing him to go flying through several trees as his Aura Breaks. Vergil exits Devil Trigger walks forwards as Adam struggles to get up, his mask falling off to reveal hos scarred and banded eye.
Adam: What...the hell...are you?
Vergil: The Son of Sparda.
Adam: Die...JUST DIE!
Adam yells in fury as he raises Wilt and runs forwards to strike Vergil, then half demon smirking.
Vergil Foolishness. Might controls everything. And without it, you cannot protect anything-
Adam gets up close and swings, only for Vergil to be gone. Behind him, on one knee, sheathing Yamato. Adam blinks in confusion as Wilt's blade suddenly breaks into several peaces
Vergil: -let alone yourself.
At that moment, when Yamato was fully sheathed, only then did Adam explode into a pile of bloody chunks, the blood of the White Fang's leader smearing the ground as Vergil stood up and glanced at his opponents remains.
Vergil: Though for a human, you provided a decent challenge.
Conclusion []
Cue Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 - Theme of Vergil
Soul: God, I love it when people that "damage is only dealt when you sheath your sword" trope.
Scythe: Now, this fight wasn't as one sided as one would think. Adam did hold the experience and skill that would at least let him match Vergil for a period of time, given both fought in the quickdraw style.
Soul: Wilt and Brush where a unique weapon, but paled in comparison to Vergil's arsenal of demonic abilities and weapons.
Scythe: Adam could keep pace with Blake, who was fast enough to dodge lightning, but Vergil is faster then Dante, and Dante has reacted to light speed attacks...multiple times actually.
Soul: Plus Vergil could freaking teleport and duplicate himself! Adam had no chance in landing a serious killing blow. Even if he could, Adam's got no feats supporting that he could seriously injure Vergil. Not to mention, Vergil's regeneration meant that any damage he did land would be undone instantly.
Scythe: There is ONE exception: Moonslice. Theoretically, if Adam built up enough power with the move, he could unleash an attack strong enough to possibly kill Vergil. However, not only is this incredibly unlikely given Vergil's greater speed, Adam has never been show absorbing an attack on Vergil's level. Who knows if he even could?
Soul: Plus, the fact Moonslice is limited by Adam's supply of Aura meant it was never gonna last. Adam may have had skill and experience to match Vergil, and with how Moonslice works he wasn't completely helpless. But it wasn't enough against Vergil's greater strength, speed, arsenal, healing, and overwhelming power meant when faced with Vergil's Judgement, Adam didn't make the cut.
Scythe: The winner is Vergil.
Next time[]
Next time OOOOOON DEATH BATTLE!
"Incinerate."
"Charge Shot!"
