Prelude[]
Wiz: They say the bloodline of any conflict is the soldier. But where would those brave and valiant men and women be without an even braver leader to guide them through the trials of war?
Boomstick: Well, I don’t know about you, Wiz, but I don’t think these two know all that much about being valiant. Sometimes being tall, brooding and violent is all you need to rally an army. Oh and serving a master of all evil certainly helps.
Wiz: Like Adam Taurus. Leader of the White Fang, and a terrorist supreme!
Boomstick: And General Grievous. Commander of the CIS, and every Jedi’s worst nightmare!
Wiz: In this episode we’ll be analyzing the strength, speed and overall skill of these two ruthless killers to find out who would win a Death Battle.
Adam Taurus[]
Wiz: The world of Remnant is a beautiful yet chaotic one. Controlling governments, creatures called Grimm stalk the land, and the ever growing tension between the Human race and the Faunus’s.
Boomstick: Ya, ‘tensions’ is a weak way to put it. It's a freaking mess.
Wiz: The Faunus are a species of humanoids who possess a distinctive animal trait. This can include things like cat ears, rabbit ears, horns, tails, and so on. And unfortunately for this species, they’ve suffered the worst that humanity has to offer.
Boomstick: Again, putting it lightly, Wiz. The humans of this world treat Faunus’s like second class citizens. It's no wonder so many of them rose up to join the equal rights movement, the White Fang. Initially they were a peaceful protesting group, but just like Ol’ Ma, poke her enough and she’ll get really mad.
Wiz: Now that's putting it lightly. The White Fang of old was thrown away and this newer, more brutal faction paved the way for one of the most violent and selfish of their kind to rise. His name is Adam Taurus.
Background[]
- Name: Adam Taurus
- Height: 6’4”
- Weight: Roughly 200 lbs
- Age: Early to mid 20s
- Occupation: Leader of the White Fang
- Species: Faunus (bull)
Boomstick: And if you couldn’t tell by the trench coat and the skull mask that hides his branded scar, he’s pretty metal. And ever since getting that scar, Adam's hatred of humanity is all he really thinks about. He went from wanting equality among races to wanting to conquer the human race. Why is it always conquer the human race? We don’t have much to give.
Wiz: Either way he decided that enough was enough and sided with Cinder Fall (who works for Salem) to take his vengeance upon the human race and anyone who dared to stand in his way.
Weapons and Armor:[]
- Wilt and Blush: Modified Katana and Hilt/rifle
- Aura: Personification of the soul. Can block direct attacks and heal minor wounds
- Semblance: 'Moonslice' grants the ability to absorb energy and release it in many forms.
Boomstick: And what better way to do that than with some good ol’ fashioned gun sword. All the weapons are guns in this world and I am ok with that.
Wiz: Wilt is a modified katana and Blush is both a sheath and a rifle, and can even fire the katana like a bullet. The blade alone can cut through atlesian armor and metal like butter, and if that's not enough, he can use his Semblance known as Moonslice.
Boomstick: While they may sound like some off brand Oreo cookie, it’s actually a massively overpowered means of attack, because Adam can absorb incoming energy and release it to make his strikes more powerful. He can create shockwaves, or go full Raiden (MgsRR) and blitz his opponent.
Wiz: And by supercharging his blade he can create clones of himself at will. But Wilt and Blush’s most powerful attack comes in the form of a slice so powerful, it can disintegrate massive enemies like the Spider-Droid, in mere seconds. But that's not the only thing keeping his opponents off their toes. Like all warriors of Remnant, he possesses an Aura, the personification of one's soul.
Boomstick: It’s like a personal shield that can heal minor wounds and protect you from all sorts of chicanery: like falling from nearly 1000 feet from a tower, tanking bites from all sorts of Grimm, and withstanding blows from Yang Xiao Long.
Wiz: Yang once broke through a Paladin-290s armor, and punched Adam so hard the ground came up beneath him. But his Aura has taken even more punishment than that.
It survived a blast from a Spider-Droids energy cannon. This blast obliterated the back end of a train carriage, and launched him and Blake onto the next tram. By taking the melting point of aluminum and the size of the hole and the droid, we can estimate that Adam tanked a blast worth 5-10 tons of TNT, and had to have had 1253976.08 joules of force behind it.
Boomstick: That's a tough hit, but you might not be able to hit in the first place since Adam's really quick. He can move fast enough to dodge bullets and make it seem as if he’s teleporting.
Wiz: And he can keep up with Blake, who once dodged lightning, mid jump, which would have required a reaction speed of Mach 11. (Granted, it was Sun who thwarted it, but he and Blake have similar reaction speeds)
Boomstick: With all this power and skill on his side, you’d be hard pressed to find anyone who could even come close to matching him in a duel. He killed Sienna Khan and became the official leader of the White Fang, defeated countless students of Beacon during their invasion, and almost overpowered Blake and Yang at the same time
Feats:[]
- Defeated multiple Atlesian soldiers alongside Sienna Khan and Ilia Amitola
- Lead the White Fangs invasion of Beacon
- Destroyed the Spider-Droid with a single strike using Moonslice
- Cut off Yang Xiao Long's arm
- Survived being crushed by Bumblebee (Yangs bike)
- Killed Sienna Khan to take control of the White Fang
- Tanked a 1000 foot fall
- Held his own against Blake Belladonna and Yang Xiao Long
- Overpowered Blake while blindfolded
Weaknesses:[]
- Rash and arrogant
- Emotionally unstable
- Aura reserves are limited
- Wilt and Blush are needed to channel Semblance
Wiz: Keyword being, almost. Don’t mistake his overwhelming tenacity for technical prowess. Adam is powerful, especially for a Faunus. But even his aura, which can take blows from two of the most skilled huntresses at once, isn’t infinite and can drain rather quickly if he can’t block with Wilt.
Boomstick: And absorbing that power also requires him to be in direct contact with deadly blows. And sure he’s fast, but he can’t block everything.
Wiz: Also, if he loses Wilt, he cannot channel his Semblance, leaving him without his biggest weapon.
Boomstick: And he’s a bit headstrong if you know what I mean? He’s been known to completely lose focus and lash out when things don’t go his way. Like a toddler, but with a sword that can pretty much kill anything. I’d hate to take that baby-sitting job.
Wiz: But never let it be said that Adam Taurus isn’t willing to put his life on the line if it means he gets exactly what he deserves.
General Grievous[]
Wiz: Somewhere in a distant galaxy, a war was breaking out between the reptilian race known as the Kaleesh, and the insect race named the Huk. For many years these two very different species raged war on eachothers homelands, killing many as a result.
Boomstick: One Kaleesh warrior, named Qymaen jai Sheelal?, cuz I guess Bob was taken, was bringing the fight to his Huk oppressors. He was so powerful and ruthless that his own people considered him a demigod. And with him driving away the Huk, things were going well.
Wiz: Until the Huk pulled out the ‘victim’ card and had the Republic embargo the planet, cutting them off from the rest of the galaxy. With little option, Qymaen made a deal with InterGalactic Banking Clan, which of course they held….to a degree.
Boomstick: You see, the Banking Clan is secretly controlled by Darth Sidious, who wanted to use Qymaen as a test subject to create the ultimate killer.
Background[]
- Real Name: Qymaen jai Sheelal
- Height: 7’1”
- Weight: 350.5 lbs
- Age: Unknown
- Occupation: Commander of the Separatist droid army
- Species: Kaleesh (cyborg)
Wiz: So they planted a bomb that destroyed his ship and most of his organic body, and then blamed it on the Jedi, after ‘saving’ his life. They then went on to rebuild him as a cyborg to be trained under Count Dooku, eventually becoming the most feared Jedi killer of his age. General Grievous.
Weapons and Armor:[]
- Lightsabers: Can wield up to 4 at a time (5 if he uses his clawed foot)
- Duranium Armor: Durable, blaster resistant armor. High melting point.
- Electrostaff: Lightsaber resistant staff that discharges electricity.
Wiz: As if having A lightsaber isn’t dangerous enough, not only can he wield 4 at a time, he was trained to master all 7 combat forms. Allowing him to mix them as he pleases to become a very dangerous and unorthodoxed fighter.
Boomstick: And with his cybernetic body, he can achieve speed that is almost unheard of. He also has this chip in his brain that studies his opponents moves and can even allow him to mimic the fighting styles of others. Like when he did it to Mace Windu.
Wiz: Master Windu created his own version of the 7th form of lightsaber combat, Vaapad, which suited his incredible abilities. Including being able to move so fast that the human eye can’t track him. Thats faster than 1/275th of a second. And yet, Grievous was nearly able to mimic him strike for strike.
Boomstick: But by the off chance he has no laser swords, he has quite a few weapons: Including a grappling hook in his arm, a DT-57 heavy blaster, and an Electrostaff. The latter is made of lightsaber resistant material and can discharge enough electricity to stop someone's heart.
Wiz: His armored body is made of Duranium: a highly resistant metal that can absorb kinetic energy, shake off glances from lightsabers, and is strong enough to withstand starfighter grade blaster fire.
Boomstick: So it’s fair to say the General is far superior now than he ever was as a ‘demigod’. He’s defeated and killed countless amounts of Jedi on his own, including Masters like Shaak Ti and Ki-Adi Mundi, two of the most powerful members of the council.
Wiz: He also defeated the Gen’Dai bounty hunter Durge, who could sense the heartbeats of his opponents from 200 meters away. And yet, Grievous was able to sneak up on him and deliver the ‘fatal’ blow. He’s also shown remarkable durability such as tanking an explosion inside a Naboo fighter.
Boomstick: Or even better was that time he survived an explosion that destroyed an entire underground city. Seriously? How does this guy ever lose?
Wiz: Two words: Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Boomstick: Isn’t that three?
Feats:[]
- Fought 7 Jedi at once (including 4 masters) and killed 3 of them
- Survived an explosion that wiped out an entire underground city
- Is said to have killed dozens of Jedi in personal combat and taken their lightsabers
- Has tanked several starfighter laser cannon blasts.
- Matched Mace Windu in speed and copied his unique lightsaber style
- Took Obi-Wan Kenobi to his limit in their final fight
- Played a major role in the genocide of the Nightsisters
- Defeated Ki-Adi Mundi, Shaak Ti, Durge, Assaj Ventress, Roron Corobb
- Led the droid army to many victories over the Republic
Weaknesses:[]
- Weak to electricity and EMPs
- No special augmentations outside of his mechanical body, which also houses his organic parts.
- Recklessly attacks if he can’t deal enough damage
- Will retreat if he can’t kill his enemy quick enough
Boomstick: I guess it's also worth mentioning his cybernetics, which also hold all his squishy bits, are tough but can still be damaged. And they’re dangerously unreliable against electricity. He’s also very reckless and arrogant due to his success at killing Jedi, feeling them as beneath him.
Wiz: Grievous is also a coward when faced with an overwhelming force. But Dooku made it certain that he knew his limitations. If he couldn’t terrorize and intimidate his opponents, he was better off fleeing the scene and returning only he had the advantage.
Boomstick: I mean, come on Wiz, when you’re a four armed robot with laser swords you can afford to be a little cocky.
Pre-Battle[]
Multiple ‘’clanks’’ erupted in unison, preceded by a plethora of other similar noises of a mechanical nature. Sparks flying in every direction as these small, bug like heads were placed on equally skinny bodies and sent off. But they weren’t the only ones.
Dozens of robots of a different variety being cut, mashed and nailed together on multiple assembly lines. Some came with blasters on their arms, others had ones where the mouth would be. Some had 2 legs, some had 4.
They were all so strange and unique, but their purpose was very clear.
War.
All the while a figure in a dark grey, almost black trench coat stood on a guard rail above the stone hall adjacent to one of the assembly lines. Surveying the area and planning out their next move.
The white of their mask and the monochrome colors of their uniform perfectly blended in with the wall and ceiling above them, their horned head peered out only when they had the chance. Between the ever shifting lights of the factory and the endless amount of robots, it was important to keep a low profile.
This man was no local to the area, nor was he sure wasn’t a dweller. And he damn sure wasn’t a robot or even human for that matter.
No. This was Adam Taurus, leader of the White Fang terrorist organization.
Normally he’d be on his throne, which he acquired from the now deceased Sienna Khan, and giving orders to his lackeys. But then he'd gotten word of possible Atlesian tech in the area and was resolute in solving the matter himself. Seeing it as nothing but another slight the humans would pay for.
But what he found was something he hadn't prepared himself for.
Strange, and almost comically looking robots marching in and out a previously unknown mineshaft. After following the droids into the cave system, he had made his may into the quarters of these strange robots, sneaking past each one and gathering as much information as he could.
He didn’t recognize the insignia or the models. So they couldn’t be Atlesian. They were far too rusty for that. But he knew for a fact that this was a war factory, building more and more of these mechanical abominations.
But he wasn't looming above the rail looking for a way to shut it down, no.
He was looking for the one in charge.
Adam knew it would be hard pressed to destroy the entire place on his own, especially since it was much larger than he initially expected. But if he managed to cut off the head of the snake, the rest of the body should follow suit.
On the plus side, it was an excuse to itch his trigger fingers.
A noise came from the nearby doorway that made his ears twitch. A distinct, "clink", that sounded similar to the ones he’d heard before from the smaller droids. But this was much heavier, and it was getting louder and louder.
Stomping into the hall like a metal toddler was an inhuman, almost skeletal being composed mostly of metal as far as Adam could see. On any other day, he would have actually confused it for an atlesian creation. Except for the reptilian yellow eyes and the loud, obnoxious breathing of this creature.
Almost as if it was alive.
Flanking him was two identical droids each carrying some sort of staff, and capes similar to the one worn by the metal monstrosity. They, out of all the robots he’d seen, looked like proper guards. His attention only briefly taken away from the yellow eyed creature before it stopped in its tracks and coughed up a storm.
“Well hello, ugly.” Adam said to himself before another droid of some kind came from the other end of the hall. Stockier than most of the others he'd seen.
‘’Sir, I’m afraid a third of our production lines have shut down, due to electronic interference within the caverns.’’ Said the L-1 tactical droid, who, despite having no facial features aside from a rudimentary pair of eyes, seemed to show a hint of fear towards the larger ‘robot’. ‘’At this rate, we will not be able to supply enough troops to...’’
‘’Lord Sidious has made it clear that this factory must remain 100% operational!’’ Growled the cyborg general, stopping at the end of the hall to stare down his insubordinate tactical droid. His raspy yet organic voice only confirmed to the hidden Faunus that this ‘thing’ was the leader of the operation.
And this ‘thing’ was none other than the cyborg, General Grievous. Supreme commander of the separatist droid army.
‘’And I will not suffer a demotion because of your lack of foresight!’’
‘’But sir. Our forces cannot hope to penetrate the city's perimeter without suffering heavy losses. We need more time and resources, sir.’’ The droid clarified before being grabbed by the ‘skin’ of his neck, and lifted off his feet by the enraged general.
‘’Then drain this mine completely. I will not tolerate any further setbacks, and my masters certainly won’t.’’ He roars, nearly crushing the droids mechanical throat with his talons before shoving him against the wall. ‘’I want an army that can decimate the entire city of Vale, and anyone who gets in our way. No matter what it takes.’’
Dropping the droid and heading for the other end of the hall, coughing in-between steps. Hoping to retreat to his quarters to rest before the upcoming attack.
Unfortunately, in the time between his loud wheezing, a certain Faunus lept from the ceiling. Blade drawn for the kill.
Grievous’s cybernetic ‘ears’ caught the faint sound of metal on metal before turning around to find a mysterious creature in the middle of cutting down his magnaguards. The long blade of a red katana decapitating the last one in quick fashion before sheathing the blade.
Only for it to shoot out like a bullet, straight for the Generals mask.
Fight![]
The hilt of the blade crashed into the Duranium skull of Grievous, sending him back before his clawed feet hooked onto the floor, blinking frantically as he attempted to focus on his attacker. Wilt, having ricocheted off the cyborg's head, found itself back in Adams' grasp as he rushed forward.
Ever the resourceful one, Grievous unhooked his cape and threw it in Adam's direction, blanketing Adam's vision before cutting through it mid strike.
As he did, Grievous’s clawed foot seized one of the Electrostaffs from the fallen Magnaguard before whirling around like a tornado of shrapnel. Electricity crackled mere centimeters from Adams' face as he limbo(d) under the staff. Backflipping off the general's body, clinging to the nearby wall before lunging at the cyborg.
The edge of Wilt met the metal end of the electrostaff, which spun unnaturally in a 360* motion in Grievous’s wrist. Causing Adam to second guess himself and sidestep away from his opponent as he landed.
But he wasn’t given much time to think as Grievous rushed forward swinging wildly with his staff. Roaring as he did.
Taking in a quick breath, the Faunus focused his strength and blocked high and low. Not worrying about parrying just yet as he absorbed the energy into Wilt. Meanwhile, Grievous was hoping to make quick work of his attacker, analyzing the white fang leaders defensive style as he swung.
He momentarily got the advantage as the electrified end of the staff connected with Adams hand, forcing him to change his stance and lock their blades for the first time.
‘’What sort of hideous creature are you?’’ Grievous asked, digging his talons into the ground to increase his strength, making Adams knees buckle for a moment.
‘’Look who's talking!’’ Adam smirked as he blocked once more, quickly sheathing Wilt before unleashing a flurry of fiery blows on the General. Knocking the cyborg back breaking his electrostaff in one final slice, causing it to disintegrate into rose petals. Shouting ‘’Now you’re dead.’’ before lunging forward to strike true at his foes center.
Only for his blade to be caught by the mechanical foot of his foe, who laughed before bringing it down and wrapping his other foot around Adams head. His Aura kept the talons from piercing his skull, but he couldn’t escape as Grievous flung himself backwards, taking Adam with him.
‘’You’re weak!’’ Adam’s back slammed into the metal door behind him, knocking the wind out of him even if it didn’t hurt all that much. What hurt a little bit more was when he went to block, the large boot of Grievous kicked him dead center, sending him straight through it and into a control room. Filled with all sorts of monitors, control consoles and at least a dozen startled battle droids who immediately backed away upon seeing Adam burst through the door.
‘’So, do we do something or just keep working?’’ One of them asked another as Adam rose to his feet. Part of his mask now missing as it was embedded between Grievous taloned feet, which crushed it like a tin can. Speaking of, he smacked away the battle droid in his way and unhooked the lightsabers from his waste.
‘’Don’t bother. I will deal with this scum myself!’’ Grievous commanded, his arms splitting and unleashing the 4 blades at once. Adam, now more than ready to his opponent seriously, ripped off the broken portion of his mask and stared daggers into those reptilian eyes.
‘’Your move, freak!’’ He spat just before Grievous launched himself towards him. Sabers spinning in perfect circular motions, cutting into and destroying much of the panels in his way.
Seemingly able to swing in all directions, Grievous gave Adam little room for adjustment as he attacked the Faunus leader with burst after burst of lightning quick strikes. Wilt and Saber created sparks every time they collided that only furthered their resolve to kill the other.
With now 4 arms to worry about, Adam immediately began focusing on absorbing as much energy as possible. Even if it put him at risk of potentially losing a limb.
As for Grievous, his entire motor functions were fixated on getting past his foe's defenses and impaling him with all 4 blades as he ramped up the aggression.
5 strikes per second
After meeting all of the generals' sabers at once, Adam released a shockwave from Wilt and dashed away, sheathed...and began to multiply.
It was no trick of the eye. Adam had created two identical clones of himself that each fired off several rounds from Blush. Red, blue and green mixed together as Grievous blocked or dodged each blast and lunged at ‘Adam’, who dashed away again and again. All three practically circling the general and firing shot after shot.
The ones that didn’t hit any nearby battle droids or deflect off Grievous many sabers were lucky enough to strike the cyborg in his armored carapace. Staggering him long enough before the real Adam rushed the cyborg, sliding underneath his legs and firing a shot at his unprotected back.
The blast knocked Grievous onto his chest and only further enraged him. Adam took no chances and immediately went for the downed general.
Trailing his blade behind him before slashing upwards in a fiery motion, cutting part of Grievous’s chest place before lunging back and severing one of his left hands. Taking away one of his sabers.
‘’You can’t keep up with me.’’ Adam proclaimed as Grievous groaned at the loss of his limb.
Looking to finish the cyborg quickly, the Faunus made a b-line right for the General's fractured chest plate, his blade hot and ready to cleave him in two.
But before he had the chance, the crafty commander surprised Adam by being the first to make a move. Lunging right for Adam and causing him to side-step to avoid being crushed under his weight. Grievous, now on 6 limbs like some demented spider, crawled out of the control room.
Now in a larger, less compact medbay, the General hooked himself up to the ceiling and destroyed the internal lighting, leaving the room as dark as possible. By the time Adam caught up with him, the room was pitch black aside from a few buttons on a control console.
Fortunately for the Faunus, his enhanced vision gave him the edge he needed. Scanning the entire room with his eyes and listening for the generals wheezing breath, Adam sheathed Wilt and readied Blush.
‘’I see you.’’ Adam growled before firing multiple shots into the darkness. Watching as his opponent scuttled across the ceiling like the monster he was. Whether or not he hit his target mattered or not as it pushed himself off the ceiling and collided with the ground in front of him. Sending massive shockwaves that staggered him for just long enough.
Out of the smoke came the enraged Grievous who whirled his blades like a frantic windmill.
10 strikes per second
The two struggled and traded blows as they fought through the darkness, destroying the area around them as they picked up speed. Sparks flew everywhere as Sabers met Wilt, and occasionally one was able to glance the other. And with this came even more frustration.
Adam was so sure every strike would cut through Grievous like it did every other mechanical being he’d fought, but it either wasn’t enough or he was too fast. Moreover, Grievous just couldn’t understand what was stopping him from piercing the Faunus defenses. It's almost like he had a personal shield around him.
But Grievous had the advantage of being mostly metal, Adam didn’t have that luxury. Even though his Aura still held, the heat of every jab from a saber cut through his skin like a hot knife. He could heal, but it still hurt.
And that pain led to frustration.
15 strikes per second
‘’Impotent whelp!’’ Grievous laughed mid strike as, despite convention, he knew he was winning somehow. He could see it in Adams eye(s) that this wasn’t the norm for him. Adam wasn't used to being so overwhelmed. So the General ramped up the speed of his attacks and threw caution to the wind. Taking great care to avoid Wilt whenever it seemed to glow, for whatever reason the complex computers in his brain told him to be wary and go for the kill sooner rather than later.
Now Adam was the one making space as he dashed to the far end of the room, sheathed Wilt, and fired a powerful blast directly at the General. The knockback pushed him against the wall and the attack itself left fresh burn marks all over his armor.
But Grievous merely laughed as he charged once again.
20+ strikes per second
At this point Adam was fighting for his life. He’d never fought someone so fast and aggressive and to top it off, his aura was now riddled with holes.
But he still had one last trick. He just needed to last a little longer.
As the cyborg raised his blades to crush Adam beneath him, he jumped back and released a powerful shockwave that sent Grievous flying across the room like a metal ragdoll. Crashing into the panel behind him, electrocuting him and causing him to jolt and sputter his words. Cursing in his native tongue.
Adam sheathed Wilt one last time and concentrated, focusing all his energy on one goal. The one thing nothing could possibly survive, and it was at his fingertips. His teeth grinding as Grievous went on one knee, hacking and coughing away.
‘’Your life is mine!’’ The horned Faunus muttered as he rushed Grievous with literally everything he had. His blade, now as bright as pure flame drew and a piercing white light emitted just as the General opened his eyes.
And then…
… it was all over.
In a move so swift it could only be calculated by a computer, Adams hand was gone and with it, his aura and Wilt, which fell to the floor with a loud thud. What remained of his wrist had been immediately cauterized by the heat of the lightsaber.
And Adam, suffice it to say, wasn’t taking it very well. He could feel the pain, but he was too far in denial for it to even register as he just looked at where Wilt once was.
The Faunus leader was purely dumbstruck.
But he didn’t have any time to register his mistake before two sabers shot directly out his back and through his chest, lifting him from the ground at an uneven angle. The last thing he ever heard or saw was that horrible mask and raspy laugh of General Grievous.
‘’Pathetic! You couldn’t best me on my worst day.’’

Boomstick: You know Wiz, I’d feel bad but he always was a cut up.
Wiz: Suffice it to say, both combatants had clear advantages over the other.
Boomstick: Adam is somewhat used to fighting droid-like warriors in his world, and Grievous knows a thing or two about challenging mystically augmented beings.
Wiz: The General was easily the more experienced duelist thanks to his training and knowledge of all 7 lightsaber forms, and he could even mimic and copy Adams own fighting style to use it against him. Not to mention the countless amounts of Jedi he’d murdered during the Clone Wars gave him a massive edge.
Boomstick: But Adam did hold the overall power advantage. His weapons were fewer but just as deadly, if not more thanks to his semblance. And say Wiz, shouldn’t Adam have been able to instantly Moonslice through Grievous’s armor? I mean, it got past Yang's impressive aura.
Wiz: Yes and no. It was stated by the creators that Yang’s aura had already been significantly drained prior to her disarming.
Boomstick: I see what you did there.
Wiz: ….And his Wilt and Blushes had just enough semblance to cut right through. Though a fully charged slice from Wilt could certainly end any foe if given the opportunity…..But before addressing that, let's examine their other attributes.
Boomstick: What, are we Deadliest Warrior now?
Wiz: No, but I think it's important to discuss their vast differences in skill and power to really understand the outcome.
Boomstick: Well in physical strength, the good general takes it by a pretty good margin. He’s been shown throwing around people as powerful as Darth Maul and Durge, who was strong enough to rip open metal hanger doors and toss small starfighters with his bare hand...tentacle things. Oh, and according to the official ROTS novelization, each of his arms has the strength of 10 men.
Wiz: Seeing as he was able to rip through Death Watch’s Beskar armor with his bare claws, it shouldn’t come as a surprise. Meanwhile, Adam is certainly no weakling, and can temporarily compete with Yang Xiao Long's physical strength, and anyone who’s watched her fight the larger Grimm knows how strong she can get. But aside from their single duel, he hasn’t shown a wide range of brawn. At least not nearly as much as Grievous has. I think this has to do with Adam knowing his strengths and weaknesses and simply playing to them.
Boomstick: You could make a solid argument for either guy having the Endurance advantage. Thanks to his cybernetics, Grievous doesn’t tire as easily, and Adam has shown incredible resilience against multiple opponents. But Durability is when we really get into the meat of it all. Both have some impressive survivability feats, even if at the points of their defeats it almost seemed like the writers forgot about them, but that's why we leave the conspiracy videos for YouTubers.
Wiz: Adam’s greatest feat of durability comes from tanking a blast from a Spider-Droids cannon. This blast took a hole out of the, presumably aluminum and steel plated wall behind it. Measuring the blast with the size of the hole it left, this would mean at the least he withstood a blast of around 5-10 tons of TNT, and withstood 1253976.08 joules that would have melted the metal.
Boomstick: Not a bad feat, but the Generals most impressive durability feat is something to behold.
Wiz: His armor withstood a blast that destroyed an entire subterranean city, and to top it off, almost collapsed the very surface of the planet. Taking what we can measure of the upper cities distance and height, in order to wipe out a city that large, you would need 4 Megatons, or 4000 kilotons of TNT. That's enough to wipe out most of Manhattan.
Boomstick: And since he was close to the magma of the planet, he would have also had to resist the heat.
Wiz: That's 2373875.67 joules by the way. Nearly twice as much as the blast Adam took.
Boomstick: And this isn’t some random one liner from a special edition script. He’s above where the brunt of the explosion would have taken place. Even if he didn’t tank the entire explosion, the force alone would have been much more than Adam's spider-beam feat, even if you highball it.
Wiz: So General Grievous has overall durability and strength, and Adam has power. But there is one more important attribute that above all, defined the outcome.
Boomstick: Speed!
Wiz: Both have shown impressive feats of speed and agility, and at base level, the two are very comparable. Both can move so fast that they seem to teleport, and can simultaneously attack and dodge mid strike. But let's look at some specifics:
Adam can keep pace with his former partner, Blake Belladonna, who can dodge lightning from a Sea Grimm in mid air. (Sun is the one who intercepted it, but he and Blake have comparable speeds) In order to dodge and react to the lightning of the Grimm, your reaction speed would be around Mach 11, or 8439.96 mph.
Boomstick: Meanwhile Grievous can keep up with Mace Windu, who was described as being so fast that even Anakin Skywalker, the most powerful Jedi of his era, couldn’t track him. Wiz, take over. This is gonna be big math time.
Wiz: For something to be able to move so fast that it disappears from the human eye, it would have to be accelerating to about 1/275th of a second or 38146.00 mph. That's nearly 4 times faster than Adam scaling to Blakes top reaction speed.
Boomstick: And Grievous not only kept up with him, but Mace literally refused to face Grievous again, as in, he knew he could lose. And believe it or not, he can go faster! Just ask Obi-Wan, who could react to the Nano-second, and he would have needed it to take himself to the limit.
Wiz: And this is where we get back to our earlier question about Adam using a full powered Moonslice. Not only does he require time and space to be able to perform such devastating moves, but with the Generals superior speed and durability, there is very little keeping him at bay for that long.
Boomstick: Remember, Grievous's entire game plan involves him pressing the attack and making his opponent unstable, and only backing off when things don’t go his way. And Adam is no patient Obi-Wan with OP defensive stats.
Wiz: Not to mention Adam is very susceptible to emotional outbursts and violent fits of rage when things don’t go his way, even more so than Grievous, which he can capitalize on with his plethora fighting styles. And unlike Grievous who has multiple weapons at his disposal, Adam only has Wilt and Blushes, and if Wilt is destroyed or taken away, he can’t use his Semblance in the first place.
Boomstick: Think of it like this. You get your hands a sword that can kill pretty much anything, and it's all yours….if you can kill the annoying fly that keeps on avoiding your swings. Oh and it has 4 little laser swords and tuberculosis to boot. Not impossible, just not in your favor.
Wiz: Adam was certainly powerful and tenacious, but the General's years of experience and overwhelming speed and skill with a blade were all that he needed to finish the younger warrior.
Boomstick: Adam simply Wilted under the Grievous pressure.
The Winner is General Grievous!
Trivia[]
- This is my first 'RWBY vs Star Wars' battle: The second being Count Dooku vs. Cinder Fall
- ‘’Vengeance’’ is a key factor in both of their lives.
- Both willingly became enforcers to a greater evil in order to protect their race (Salem and The Sith Respectively)
- Adam is nothing but a deadly tool for Salem's disposal, meanwhile Grievous is a pawn in Darth Sidious's scheme.
- Both combatants wear masks that cover their scars/disfigurements. While both got their respective injuries in different ways, they take out their aggression on those they believe have wronged them. (Humans and Jedi respectively)
- Both have killed countless amounts of their respective enemies, but also have that one rival that they can’t seem to kill. Blake Belladonna and Obi-Wan Kenobi respectively.
- Both were also killed by their respective rivals. They both ''get what they deserve'' in the end.
- Adam makes an Obi Wan reference in the fight by saying ''Your move''
