You're a surly bastard, aren't you? Men who don't laugh on the field of battle, may forget how to by the time they reach Elysium. This world is enough of a gloomy, festering pus as it is - you should at least try to get a laugh in......before you die.
~ Achilles to Siegfried

Achilles is the one of the servants summonable in Fate/Grand Order with a larger role in Fate/Apocrypha.

History[]

Achilles is the son of Peleus and Thetis and the legendary hero of Greece who fought in the Trojan War. When his mother tried to make him immortal by putting him in holy fire, his father objected to this, and is quoted to have said "Then that would destroy Achilles as a human" and only a certain part of him never entered the flames because of this. Thanks to discord between Peleus and Thetis, Achilles was sent to Chiron so he could be trained. For the next nine years Chiron would train him, and at the age of ten Achilles would master all the lessons that had been taught to him.

By the time he'd grown up, Greece went to war with Troy because Paris stole Helen away from Sparta. As he was a part of the army that went to Troy, he was able to achieve many great feats. However the greatest feat he achieved was defeating Hector. After Patroclus was killed, Achilles became enraged and fought Hector one on one. After he won the fight by killing the Prince of Troy, Achilles dragged the corpse of Hector behind him and insulted the dead body of the one person who had been equal to him in combat. This incurred the anger of Apollo who later guided an arrow from Paris to the heel of Achilles after a continual slaughter of the Trojan army. While his life had been short as if ran through it at high speeds, the legend he left behind would grow and spread beyond Troy.

Death Battle Info (Fanon)[]

Background[]

  • Birthday: Unknown
  • Height: 6'0" (185 cm)
  • Weight: 213 Ibs (97 kg)
  • Race: Greek
  • Occupation: Greek hero

Powers & Abilities[]

  • Andreias Amarantos: The invulnerability Achilles possesses thanks to his mother, Thetis. If the opponent does not have divnity, or a divine weapon, exceeding his own then he won't take any damage. If his divinity is exceeded or if his heel is injured then this Noble Phantasm will cease to protect him.
  • Dromeus Komētēs: A Noble Phantasm that represents the speed Achilles had in life due to him sprinting through life as if it was a race. His speed has been equated to instantaneous movement due to anything he can see being within striking range. However he is only the fastest human Heroic Spirit, so this does not apply to any god or goddess capable of being faster.
  • Battle Continuation: Achilles has a high rank in this this skill, allowing him to fight on even if he is fatally wounded because he doesn't know when to give up. Achilles even managed to stall Chiron in Lostbelt 5 even after a Noble Phantasm destroyed his Spirit Core.
  • Valor: Any mental attack or interference will be negated by this skill and it also boosts the amount of damage he can deal in an unarmed fight as well.
  • Divinity: Because Thetis and Peleus are his parents, he has a middling Divinity rank. While Divinity normally does nothing at lower ranks, only those with higher than C rank Divinity, person or weapon, will be able to harm him.
  • Affection of the Goddess: Because of his mother's love, all parameters except luck and mana are one rank higher.
  • Magic Resistance: Any spell that doesn't take two verses will not affect him, however due to his invulnerability even higher grade spells won't harm him.
  • Riding: Any creature, such as Phantasmal and Divine Beasts, or vehicles can be used. Unfortunately this does not allow him to ride on dragons.
  • Pankration: It is the world's oldest mixed martial art through a combination of boxing and wrestling, and the style of close quarters fighting Achilles learned from Chiron. It primarily consists of strikes (including kicks and punches) and throws and is allegedly the perfect martial art.

Equipment[]

  • Troias Tragōidia: The chariot of Achilles pulled by two immortal horses and one mortal horse. It moves at "godspeed", breaking the sound barrier instantaneously and capable of even FTL movement.
  • Diatrekhōn Astēr Lonkhē: The lance Achilles uses when not on his chariot. It's capable of creating a reality marble where his invulnerability is negated, outside help cannot be given, and flukes such as luck or divine blessings cannot occur. When summoned as a Lancer, it gains the ability to negate the healing of wounds it inflicts. He is also able to recall his spear to his hand.
  • Akhilleus Kosmos: A Divine Construct shield made by Hephaestus for Achilles. From Anti-Unit Noble Phantasms to Anti-Divine Noble Phantasms, it's capable of blocking nearly any attack. However attacks from Anti-World Noble Phantasms are its weakness. Achilles can also use this shield to attack as well, projecting a miniature world for him to crush anyone in his path.
  • Unnamed Armor: Armor forged by Hephaestus for Achilles, however it is only accessible in Greece or via the Chaldean Ascension System. Aside from being a defensive Divine Construct like his shield, it is unknown what else it can do.

Feats[]

  • Achilles is a Heroic Spirit so well known that he can fight most Heroic Spirits in their homeland and win as the term Achilles Heel is known worldwide.
  • Both Jeanne and Shirou Kotomine call him equal to Karna.
  • He was able to wound and even outspeed Vlad in Romania after he became the Nameless Vampire, despite Vlad having a fame boost.
  • Is capable of piercing Semiramis' scales of the Sacred Fish, her arm, and Shirou Kotomine's head and Kotomine acknowledged this.
  • Capable of fending off simultaneous attacks from the likes of Siegfried and Frankenstein.
  • When fighting Siegfried and Frankenstein, he thought it wasn't enough and claimed to be offended it was only a two on one fight.
  • He's strong enough to oneshot Heroic Spirits, as he punched Chiron hard enough to pierce his chest and if Astolfo had taken a single hit from Achilles it would have been fatal.
  • He's able to push a 300 ton plane in midair.
  • Dodged hundreds of arrows shot by Chiron inside a narrow cave for 24 hours when he was eight years old.
  • Distance doesn't matter to Achilles as anything he can see is within striking range
  • Despite Chiron shattering his Spirit Core in Lostbelt 5, which should have killed him instantly, he kept on fighting.
  • Killed a group of homunculi so fast that it caused their blood to rain down on the area around him.
  • Can take hits from Atalanta, Frankenstein, and Spartacus so brutal that anyone else would have their ribs caved in.
  • He can move fast enough that his sheer speed can kill golems and homunculi without him having to get off of his chariot.

Faults[]

  • Was killed by an Apollo guided arrow from Paris.
  • A heel injury will negate both his invulnerability and reduce his speed by 70%.
  • His arrogance and reliance on his invulnerability often leads to him rushing into battle even if he doesn't go all out.
  • His invulnerability only applies to hostile actions, so something like a vampire bite will go through as its meant to make him an ally.
  • He consumes so much mana, only a high level master can afford to summon him due to the amount of mana he burns through.
