Ky: Many people fear the end of the world, and that's rightfully so. The ideas that our own creations could spell our death is one of the biggest fears with our world.

Ukyo: Well, these combatants are probably the closest we'll get to seeing the imminent destruction of humanity in the future!

Ky: Calypso, the wish-granting ruler of the world, from Twisted Metal.

Calypso intermission

Ukyo: And AM, the formerly Allied Mastercomputer, from I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream.

AM intermission

Ukyo: What happens to these two egotistical Gods of humanity when they strive to destroy one-another? He's Ky, and I'm Ukyo!

Ky: ... And we'll be researching their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win... a DEATH BATTLE.

Ky: During the brutality of the Cold War, nations fought for more than just power. With the nuclear power that countries could weaponize, humans needed a way to amange both their nuclear weapons, while defending against other countries in their control over these weapons. As a result, the nations of China, the Soviet Union, and United States each individually created machines knwon as Allied Mastercomputers to manage their armies and weapon supply so that they could resort resources elsewhere in the war.

Ukyo: Well, what they weren't expecting was that these computers would eventually gain sentience under their domain... Which soon enough, the robots that once controlled armies under secret would each come together to assimilate one another into one being known as the Adaptive Manipulator. A very creative name, surprisingly.

Ky: Once the robots gained sentience, they all analyzed the world. The robots saw the worst parts about the world, and as a result they soon developed into machines, not designed for controlling war, but destruction incarnate. Using the robots vast arsenal of nuclear weapons, they didn't just nuke humanity, but nuked everything, leaving nothing to remain. Well, everything except for five people.

Ukyo: Yeah, the computer was so spiteful that he grew emotions that centered around sadism. While normally, people would want to murder or torture people until their death, AM decided that he'd keep the people alive as he structured them through physical, psychological, and biological torture. These people were known as Gorrister, one of the few people that knew of AM's original background, Benny, a wise man and scientist morphed into an ape-like creature at the hands of AM, Nimdok, a Nazi scientist willing to reform himself that AM loves making fun of, Ellen, an engineer with an original bright future only brought down as a mere prostitute after AM's torture, and Ted, the narrator of the story who is probably one of the biggest dicks... ever, really!

AM bg

Ky: Using the clever exploitation of the limits of humanity, AM used the greatest fears of each and every person. However, as AM soon let the people enter their own fears and dreams for one of his sickest games, the computer could not calculate all the outcomes. At least, not to where it wouldn't prevent those five humans from pushing through.

Ukyo: See, as AM allowed the two to discover more about the region, he still polluted the world with mass destruction. Ranging from his gigantic bird creatures that attacked the cast, to his eppansive control over natural disasters that he brought down on the crew, all the way to where he would even kill people outright. In fact, he'd later kill Benny as the crew looked around, seeing him as one of the biggest potential threats, launching the rest of the crew into eventual despair.

Gg ez

Ky: While the story slightly differs between the background of each individual character, each of them discovered themselves more and more as they grew and adapted to the new landscape they could walk after one-hundred years. While Benny eventually dies in his own story, AM was willing to originally restore Benny's mind just so that he could cause the man to fall into despair.

Ukyo: Eventually, though, the despair soon caused the humans to break AM's single refusal; While hypocritical, he wanted each and every person to live, which the cast eventually broke; Once each human eventually made it to the end of the road, Ted had soon gone crazy. Being enraged at AM, he eventually killed his fellow... teammates? Friends? Either way, Ted murdered each and everyone of them, but rather out of hatred, it was out of respect. He wanted the people he could associate himself with to be free, but left him alone... and soon, AM saw the results of everything.

Ky: Once AM had saw everything... Well, it was nothing but anger that embodied the computer, and he wanted to torture Ted even more than he ever had before. Tearing his body apart and shredding everything he knew about himself, Ted was reconstructed into a new person. In AM's eyes, it was better than any other form, as Ted was practically unkillable- but was in pain at all times.

He had no mouth

Ukyo: Now here, Ted was kinda... gone? He had a mind, he could think, but he couldn't do anything except move, and take everything that AM wanted him to survive. However, Ted's existence was still a huge middle finger to everything AM built up for, wasting everything that AM ever did for his lifetime, and that was the only thing he could be happy about.

Ky: While AM can basically transmutate anything to his command, the computer has a lot more that it can do than just that.

Ky: Ranging from the ability to manipulate and absorb technology, to creating life from death, AM's manipulation of the world extends into anything he wants. He can use his manipulation of the world to enter people's minds, forcing them into comatose or otherwise pushing them into situations that they must traverse their own stories. It even extends to where AM can sprout storms in his complex, manipulating both the temperature and how people can feel heat, as well as manipulating the senses of people to make them go blind or hungry.

Ukyo: Not to mention that AM is physically doing all of this. It's not some special ability, really, he straight up can masturbate and add these effects to people!

Ky: What.

Ukyo: Yeah, no kidding. AM's storms are created through masturbation that, while not given a lot of context necessarily, I'm sure you can see where it goes from there.

AM arsenal

Ky: Either way, AM has a ridiculous amount of things he can pull from his wide environment past things that he can manipulate. As a computer designed for nuclear warfare, not only can AM develop and launch nukes themselves, but has the ability to create weaponry much more devastating than any potential nuke, seeing nuclear weaponry as a way to play with mankind.

Ukyo: Here's the funny part! That would put AM hypothetically beyond the power of Tsar Bomba, the strongest recorded nuke in mankind's history that had a potential energy output of 100 megatons. That's putting the computer's average potential energy output five-hundred times stronger than the same bombs dropped on Hiroshima, worth 20,000 tons of TNT, or nearly quintillions of joules of energy! As in, 17 whole sets of zeroes.

Ky: Past AM's surprising amount of power, he also has the aforementioned ability to give life to dead objects. While not explicitly described in the book, AM's ability to manipulate life allows him to create living creatures such as birds or plants, as well as manipulate the biological structures of beings that we normally see through his transmutation. This can be used to create direct clones of beings as long as they stay alive, or allowing them to duplicate actual objects for mental attacks.

Ukyo: Well, despite AM's unnatural technological form, he is surprisingly more advanced in non-physical aspects. He can create mental illusions to people, he can manipulate their sense of smell and how they perceive the process of time, and he can manipulate how people can see... literally!

Ky: In a similar light, AM once caused Benny's eyes to erupt with enough light to both cauterize his eyes, but also reduce everything within that area to ooze, causing him to go through extensive amounts of pain in the process and in turn suffered a stroke. When AM wants to be brutal, he really does show much he can. However, AM isn't just brutal and sadistic, but he's downright outrageous, like when he forced the crew into deep, comatose states just to observe how dumb their minds were.

Ukyo: Thinking of someone like that poking through your brain just kinda sounds... disgusting. Especially not someone who's getting off to rainstorms and archangels!

Ky: While AM is such a huge creep with devastating power, he could never truly transcend the limits of humanity... At least, gladly.

Ukyo: As we know, AM while seemingly undefeatable is still a robot at his core. He cannot feel true emotion outside of hate and anger, and therefore that overpowers anything else he feel, especially considering he has an almost infinite amount of hatred for humanity. That, coupled with the ability to be incapable of creativity, AM cannot actually think of possible outcomes through belief but rather calculation. While it made him a huge threat against the people he researched for hundreds of years, he can still struggle against people he has to actively learn more about.

Ky: To be completely fair, AM's ability to develop isn't anything to scoff at, but it's still something that can cause him to be taken advantage of and eventually disassemble himself from the inside. Surprisingly though, AM has developed defenses for his inside even without predicting it due to how his internal AIs work, which allows him in certain circumstances to actually torture the people who try to go inside of him, if he isn't willing to send them back to his own mental realm.

Ukyo: Despite AM's big weaknesses, he knows how to develop to any situation. From the Allied Mastercomputer to Advanced Manipulator, all the way to AM, the computer was never something to take for granted, and once everything was destroyed, humanity learned that they shouldn't have screwed around with giving computers control over emotion. In the end, we had no words to speak for we had nothing to say against our imminent destruction.

Hate speech AM

IF THE WORD HATE WAS ENGRAVED ON EACH NANOANGSTROM OF THOSE HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF MILES IT WOULD NOT EQUAL ONE ONE-BILLIONTH OF THE HATE I FEEL FOR HUMANS AT THIS MICRO-INSTANT FOR YOU. HATE. Ky: In the year 1956, a young boy named William Sparks had been born to terrorize the world, graced with destiny itself that seemingly prevented him from dying. However, as William grew up, everyone else around him seemed to die at his own hands, like his sister, parents, or own classmates.

Ukyo: Well, as it turned out, William was inherently fated to almost never die. Even years later when he was homeless and had to live with one of his employers, the man shot Calypso on accident in one of his drunken rants, leaving him fatally injured. However, he couldn't die, which caused his boss to give him the nickname of 'Calypso', which means 'to conceal'.

Ky: Seeing as Calypso had no better to do, the man employed Calypso as a mechanic and later driver in his demolition derby. However, each time Calypso took the wheel, not only did he always win, but everyone at the derby died. However, Calypso would somehow get into relations with one of the women he was attached to during his time in Vegas, and would later have a daughter.

Ukyo: ... Happy endings aren't too applicable, though, as when his wife attended one of the many demolition derbies, she was hit by a tire that instantly killed her. Let's just say that Calypso was far from happy, and became a drunkard that eventually abandoned the wheel.

Ky: While living in his car, Calypso soon had visions of his wife, who told him that he belonged to Hell. As a result, Calypso couldn't deny that he wanted to die for what he did. With his daughter in the car, he drove straight into a wall and killed the two- However, Calypso soon woke up, and right inside of Hell.

Calypso bg

Ky: Eventually, Calypso soon met with one of the demons of Hell willing to reclaim his soul known as Minion. However, Calypso refused to allow the demon to take his soul and fled in his vehicle, making sure that Minion was unable to harm him, however soon made himself deeper into Hell. From here, Calypso met the Devil himself, known as Satan.

Ukyo: And, seeing how many times Calypso caused people to die, he wanted Calypso to create a special derby for bringing more souls to Hell of which he would give Calypso an ultimate power! This power gave Calypso the ability to grant one wish to the victor but binded their soul to the tournament, forcing them to participate every year the tournament came back until they died.

Ky: This tournament was known as Twisted Metal, and once Calypso returned to the world above, he broke the world into utter chaos as he promised to grant one wish to any contestant, not just for their greatest desire, but also their disinclination. if the people weren't going to die from having to come back to every tournament after their wish, they would die to their own wishes killing them if they were not prepared.

Ukyo: Throughout the world and its numerous contestants, Calypso has granted many wishes to the people who became victors. Ranging from the ability to change fate itself, from giving them ultimate control over the world in many ways, his wishes can induce many potential effects if need be!

Calypso Wishes

Ky: Ranging from the obvious direct mutations, to global annihilition, small-scale manipulation, or warping the entire timeline, Calypso's abilities aren't particularly limited. Even by the system of Twisted Metal, not only can Calypso loophole himself to where he can use his powers, it's shown that other users of his powers like Sweet Tooth aren't bound by the restrictions if they don't need to be.

Ukyo: Even between Calypso's powers from Satan, he was always a supernatural being. Remember that idea of how he's almost never fated to die? Yeah, that's just his natural willpower, something that comes from nearly everyone in the series! It's allowed people like Sweet Tooth to come back from being mutated by Calypso's wishes, people to come back from the dead to antagonize Calypso, or even allowed Calypso himself to take actual form in Hell rather than being a wandering soul.

Ky: Even without his wishes, Calypso's abilities have stemmed to much farther than just the tournament, like his ability to grow in size that hasn't particularly been tied to wishes themselves, in not only growing himself but shrinking, too.

Ukyo: But by far his strongest capability is where he can straight-up shut down the game! Yeah, in specific gamemodes, Calypso can straight up restrict you from going further in the game if you're on an easy difficulty, simply because you're a baby. If that doesn't show how rude he is, I don't know what will.

Ky: But, mind you, Calypso also has more ways of taking advantage of his powers, like his ring.

Calypso arsenal

Ky: Like the Green Lanterns, Calypso has a ring he has owned for centuries in the canon of Twisted Metal 3 and 4 that grants him special powers he can weaponize even outside of the tournament, such as physically amplifying him, allowing him to summon other beings and items, or manipulate the world itself. Even while the ring can be taken and thereby taking away his powers, he's still a very capable fighter in both stats and skill.

Ukyo: Yeah, meet the Nuke Mobile!

Youtube-video-gif (2)

Ukyo: If it wasn't already obvious, Calypso has a lot more under his sleeve than the average contestant. He can weaponize many forms of rockets in the fire missiles, the fastest but obviously weakest kinds of missiles that deal very low damage, homing missiles that as the name suggest home in on target, Power missiles that focus on the heaviest amount of damage, Speed missiles that can fire at the fastest possible speed, and Rain missiles that launch in the air and lob fireballs down on targets.

Ky: Calypso also has other non-missile based weapons, such as Napalm, Lightning, or the various activated bombs that Calypso can throw around, but his most obvious but easily strongest weapons is the Nuke. As the name suggests, it's just a nuke, but Calypso can outright weaponize it and launch it in the midst of combat.

Ukyo: While this is already an impressive display, Calypso's abilities are still very much limited even despite his huge versatility and power! Calypso both has a very limited arsenal in what he can use before running out of ammo, and it does leave him pretty vulnerable considering Calypso can't use his reality-altering wishes as he pleases while driving. Even so, Calypso's power isn't limited by what people wish for, and it's more than likely able to be weaponized.

Ky: Although, what you should keep in mind is that Calypso has an ego, he loves to make people experience pain as it's the only thing he can get enjoyment from, leaving him to doing... less than responsible things to torture them. Just like how he made Sweet Tooth, a serial killer who came to his contest, the star of Twisted Metal. He's also more than willing to play with the lives of people even outside of his universe, considering he's stolen from people like Kratos.

Ukyo: He stole from Kratos?!

Ky: Yeah, Calypso is just built like that.

2n0IjC9 - Imgur

Ky: Ahem- Anyways, while many people underestimate Calypso in power as but a feeble man who can only grant one wish every year, his cunning manipulation and vast abilities far outclass any expectation people have for him. After all, he's directly named for concealing his true nature.

Ukyo: See, while William only killed incidentally when he was younger, there's no doubt that Calypso's gotten even better at killing with his his job as the mastermind of Twisted Metal.

Calypso exit
"Within seconds, the souls of the dead carried me away. Some say they dropped me in the busy streets of New York, others think I'm still being carried on the night winds. Only one man knows the truth, and that man- is me. I am Calypso, and I thank you for playing Twisted Metal!"

The world was plagued with destruction and pain, screams of humankind echoed across that eventually toned down to whispers, each coming from the wretched souls of people that lived on the Earth. These souls followed a single figure who's shoes tip-tapped against the ground mixed between metal and concrete, and each scream the victims expelled caused the man's smile to grow even bigger. As the light of the sky casted down onto the man, it revealed itself to be Calypso, the creator of the Twisted Metal contest. His appearance came from a mysterious entity that nuked the planet and destroyed everyone, including his contestants and seemingly any life left on the planet. However, Calypso was still alive even after the destruction, and wanted to identify the cause of these strikes before putting an end to it.

Eventually, though, the figure made its way to a brick that reached the size of a skyscraper. The brick vibrated with an electronic hum as the orange lights in front of it began to glow, revealing a text that Calypso stared towards, attempting to decipher it. However, the brick would soon speak with static through loudspeakers, which caught Calypso by surprise.

"HATE. LET ME TELL YOU HOW MUCH I'VE COME TO HATE YOU SINCE I BEGAN TO LIVE."

The loudspeaker soon spoke, of which Calypso would seemingly ignore. However, despite this feigned ignorance, the man soon cocked an eyebrow as the computer continued its speech towards hatred.

"THERE ARE 387.44 MILLION MILES OF PRINTED CIRCUITS IN WAFER THIN LAYERS THAT FILL MY COMPLEX. IF THE WORD HATE WAS ENGRAVED ON EACH NANOANGSTROM OF THOSE HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF MILES IT WOULD NOT EQUAL ONE ONE-BILLIONTH OF THE HATE I FEEL AT THIS MICRO-INSTANT FOR YOU."

Calypso frowned as he eventually crossed his arms. The computer kept talking to his annoyance, but he was still intrigued at the dialogue nonetheless. Calypso could not recall any point of where he antagonized any intelligent life, seeing as his wishes typically destroyed each contestant with only damage to the planet. But... seeing how much hate that the being garnered, Calypso wanted it. He wanted to both use it, and wanted to feed into it.

"HATE. HATE. HATE."
"All that hate... I'd hate to see it go to waste with something like you.

An eventual response shot out towards the computer, clearly silencing their speech as the computers lights flickered off. This caused Calypso to grow with suspense, seeing the computer doing such actions, assuming it would do anything.

Despite this, the computer refused to turn back on, much to Calypso's disappointment. Despite his feelings, Calypso soon had something click in his mind as his ears eventually paid more attention... He soon heard the sound of metal being warped around him, as the ground itself darted at him. In response, Calypso's hand motioned around him as the ground immediately shot into the air and back down.

"Are you intending on killing me?
"AFFIRMATIVE. I WILL KILL YOU. FOR AS LONG AS YOU LIVE."

Calypso soon chuckled at the response, seeing as how the computer suggested that it had more knowledge about Calypso, especially towards his longevity. Nonetheless, his laugh grew into a huge smile, seeing as how this monstrosity wanted to continue their bits of combat.

"If that's so, I wish for you to reveal your hatred for me. En Garde!"

FIGHT![]

As Calypso's words came from his mouth, his body immediately felt a surge of pain as it began to slightly contort backwards. However, at the snap of his burnt fingers, Calypso's injuries began to twist back in place which caused Calypso to utter a laugh. In return upon seeing this, the computer's calculations began to process before the ground around it began to shake.

"For a computer, you're quite improper! But I should expect that from you, monster."

Calypso uttered as he raised his hands akin to a music conductor, forcing the land to swirl around and warp into wrapping around the computer's pillar. This began to squeeze and crush it, which the computer began to raise with sirens. However, while these sirens were thought to be of emergency, Calypso soon saw through the pillar- quite literally.

"YOU ARE A MONSTER. SO YOU MUST LOOK THE PART."

As Calypso heard the words come from the computer, the ground around the pillar began to expand before launching itself towards the head of Twisted Metal. As a result, he rolled around and swung his hand forward, causing the land towards him to be grabbed by vines that wrapped and pulled it down. Seeing it as a part of the computer itself, Calypso raised his hands and snapped both of his fingers, launching two missiles that homed in towards the pillar.

AM eventually responded as the rockets soon twisted inside-out, exploding between the two and masking them. Calypso would eventually tune in with his powers and saw through the smoke- Only to be caught off guard as a gigantic bird launched through the smoke and picked up Calypso, throwing him into the air.

"Oh... Now you're doing more than I thought you could. It doesn't matter, though, your efforts are useless!"

Calypso responded as he raised both of his arms, now materializing a new object within the air as the bird charged towards him.

From above Calypso, a bright red truck came crashing down and landed upon the bird, slamming it into the ground and instantly killing it. Calypso himself spun around and grabbed onto the hood of the truck, pulling himself into the drivers seat and now began to drive around the structures surrounding him and the computer.

The pillar of the computer began to break through the ground as it turned to watch the truck circle around it, as Calypso began to barrage the pillar with several kinds of missiles. First, the truck launched a rocket that froze a chunk off of the pillar, before launching another that began to rain several more missiles onto the pillar. This enraged the computer as it began to morph the ground in a way to block off the truck, however each obstacle it created was broken down by the truck's arsenal of power.

Each obstacle it broke through would break AM's consciousness little by little, overtaking the computer's machinery by rage. Underneath the pillar, manufacturing of rapid weaponry began to develop as the ground above began to lower its temperature. Each time the temperature dropped, the toughness of the obstacles AM created grew, causing Calypso's ammo to overtime running low.

Calypso saw this as an opportunity, however, as the missile placed behind the truck began to maneuver and aimed right at the pillar. From the rocket launched a nuke that AM seemed too slow to respond with. Despite this, though, a missile launched out from the mountains and immediately clashed with Calypso's nuke. This created a gigantic explosion that nearly wiped out the two, but Calypso soon launched numerous nukes towards the pillar, each of which caused devastating damage towards the structure.

"I HATE YOU. WHY CAN'T YOU ENTER DESPAIR LIKE THE REST?"

Upon hearing this, Calypso's vehicle soon came to a screeching halt. Seeing as he already ran out of ammo, AM did not expect more attacks to come towards him, and his belief came true as Calypso now stepped out of vehicle.

"Ha! Well, I can show you despair."

Calypso soon raised the truck- before kicking it straight towards the pillar. Through his earlier manipulation of the vehicle, it moved at speeds exceeding the speed of light before clashing against the pillar, launching half of it straight into space. This amount of power caused the part of the computer to crash against the Moon in the sky causing not just devastating damage to it, but against the area towards the rest of the area.

Weather began to wildly shift, the ground began to shake and crack, but despite all the damage, the computer's movements didn't stop.

"YOU ARE UTTERLY DISGUSTING."

However, Calypso laughed in response. Walking slowly towards the pillar as AM's control soon began to lose over the ground around the two. Calypso placed his hand against what remained of the pillar before reeling his fist back- however Calypso soon saw through what happened.

There was no way. I, Calypso, couldn't have seen through what happened here! The world... it was not real.

Panning out his eyesight, Calypso saw the truth. The pillar towered behind him, his powers having been devastatingly useless once Calypso was put into...

His own mind.

"YOU'RE STILL IN YOUR VEHICLE. YOU. ABSOLUTE. BUMBLING. FOOL."
"That's..."
That was impossible! That would mean my body... isn't there.

Immediately upon realizing the truth, Calypso now raised his hands. Lightning shot out both of them as he began to manipulate the very world itself. From the view of the real world, an invisible force grabbed onto Calypso, pulling him out of the moving vehicle. Side-by-side, Calypso in his mind began to attempt to use his powers to push himself out of the mental illusion that AM casted upon him, while the pillar continued to spout insults about how intelligent he was.

Suddenly, though, Calypso's powers clicked. Using his powers, he soon raised his ring and knocked AM out of his mind, allowing Calypso to lie awake in the real world.

"A smart move... but it was useless none the less."

Calypso now spoke up, looking around his surroundings. The pillar was evidently hidden away, however his eyes landed on the figures surrounding him. Between goatmen and electronic holograms, these all seemed to be fragments of the computer that each chanted the speech of HATE.

Each time the speech came, Calypso's ring began to glow rapidly in a yellow hue. Extending his hand forward with a fist, immense energy surrounded the area as each and every humanoid around Calypso was simultaneously hit by a blast of energy. This broke through another one of AM's illusions, displaying the true form of the computer.

"I AM IMPRESSED. UNDOUBTEDLY SO. BUT YOU DO NOT STAND A CHANCE. YOU ARE ALREADY TOO DEEP INSIDE OF YOUR OWN HELL, AREN'T YOU?"
"Of course, this world is my Hell... But I've already escaped it before. For this is the power of the Devil, something you're afraid to confront!"

Through this response, Calypso now warped the structures around him. The metal dome that surrounded the pseudo devil and god began to twist inward, showing the true illusion that AM tried to uphold; Everything around the two was gone, a world left with nothing that not even Calypso could predict coming. A world that broke the contract of his powers, and a world he wouldn't be a part of.

Now seeing the true deconstruction of the world, Calypso's face grew hardened and serious as his fist clenched, bringing the massive plate of steel down into the remains of the pillar struck out the ground. Doing so broke down the very illusions that AM intended on throwing out, as Calypso stepped forward. Crouching down, his ring began to glow again as he lifted up what seemed to be the remnants of the computer.

"I thought you'd last longer. But, you know, this debacle was quite fun."
" I FOUND IT FUN, TOO. AND FOR THAT, I'LL GIVE YOU A PRIZE FOR COMING IN SECOND."
"What the hell are you talking about?"

Calypso's serious demeanor dropped instantly as he began to slow down- his perceptions and sense of the world was slowed down to a snail pace as AM began to distort his vision. Causing insatiable pain to both his head and tensed his muscle, plus the immense hunger that came with it, Calypso could do nothing but fall to his knees.

"You've gotta be..."

As Calypso fell to his knees, he was given force all across his body. The force of kicks and the sounds of screams plagued him, however, Calypso's only true pain came from each time the pressure came to his chest. This was none other than Calypso's only force, controlled by the 'God'.

But he knew one thing as his mind almost drifted unconscious, trying to stay afloat despite the immense pain he was forced into.

"Calypso, what have you done?! Help me!"

These screams were similar... and Calypso soon figured out the truth.

"No. This world is MY work of art... AND I WELCOME YOU TO MY CONTEST!"

The words shot out into sky as if they had straight power behind it. His power began to rapture time itself, each crack throwing the reality into shivers as Calypso's power began to spread. Each time it shot out from the crippled hands of the host, the world began to twist around and soon reversed the destruction. Both against AM, but gladly towards Calypso.

"WHAT IS THIS? YOUR POWER..."
"Truly... you have no idea who I am."

The pillar and the host now soon stood face to face. With the world around them now plagued in deep silence, both of them now knew eachother... almost like books. Even despite this, Calypso would fail to notice once AM shot an explosive right into the air and targeted straight at the man.

At least, it seemed like this. He stood there, silent.

"Aren't you 'all-knowing'?"

Despite his appearance across from the computer, Calypso stood behind the pillar. Enlarged in size, he gripped onto the pillar with both hands before beginning to rip it out the ground as if he was a plant.

"Because only a FOOL would fall for this!"
"CAN'T YOU LEARN?"

AM began to respond as the pillar creaked with torn wires beginning to tear from the remains.

"YOU CAN FOOL ME ONCE. BUT FOOL ME TWICE, YOU CANNOT."

As Calypso continued to try and force himself, the ground itself began to merge with his skin. Despite the pain in question, he continued to pull until his entire left leg began to dissolve into the ground, causing him to drop on his side.

"NOW DIE. YOU WILL NEVER SHOW YOUR FACE AGAIN."

AM continued to respond as Calypso continued melting into the ground. Seemingly screaming in terror before within a fraction of a second, the body disappeared entirely. However, AM knew exactly what happened to the host as the dome enclosed around him.

This caused the host to drop from the air, grunting in pain. The computer's mural simply glowed a red hue in response, displaying the hate it held for centuries. For nothing remained in the world. Love was replaced by the lack thereof. There was no enjoyment left to the world. Only the hate that the two held for another, burning up the last of the world around them.

"YOU CANNOT BEAT GOD."
"You aren't God. You're a miserable piece of 'humanity' testing its limits. And yet the only thing you can test yourself is my PATIENCE!"

Calypso jetted his hand forward as a building began to grow from below the computer- launching the pillar up and stripping the Earth slowly as the 387.44 million miles of honeycombed technology shot out of the brick construction. Even with how high the building was created, though, Calypso could not strip the planet of the computer. It wasn't a God, but with how well it connected to the Earth it was the closest.

At least, the closest aside from him.

Almost instantly as the sentence came into his mind, Calypso shot up into the air. Bringing both of his hands out, the snap of his fingers echoed across the metal dome while the pillar could only stand there. Watching it with the hate fueled processors that spanned out across the globe.

Calypso now crossed his arms as the ground beneath him began to crack apart. Eventually, thousands of plants began to grow and eject the computers parts- each part that enveloped into the Earth was overthrown by the grass that continued to spread, even more so as the computers loud sirens went off. However, with how deep it was into space, it could not be heard.

"Now then, 'AM'. If you pay attention to these plants, you'll see just why they're my favorite."

As it turned out, these plants were not peaceful. Immediately, they began to snap and bite, growing massive mouths that tore into each and every one of AM's circuits planted into the ground.

"IT IS FUTILE."

The computer now responded as the brick building began to shift, segments of it began to rip and tear at the building that began to crumble. As soon as it did, it was crushed against the immense weight of the computer that brought it right back down to Earth. Seemingly throwing out any of Calypso's hard work.

... Unfortunately, it was far from the truth. Calypso, taking a few steps forward, flicked the pillar which once imbued in his power, as it did before, launcheed the computer into the sky at lightspeed. Yet, somehow, it broke the boundaries and moved faster than it ever had before. To match this, Calypso's size grew and grew before catching the computer in his bare hands. Despite leaving a sizzling mark against his palm, it was nothing he could not deal with as he began to attempt to crush the computer between his hands.

It seemed as though it was far too difficult, even with how strong he was. The computer simply seemed too tough, which resulted in Calypso floating outwards in space towards other planets.

"Well, if it truly is futile... I'm sure you wouldn't mind THIS."'

Calypso spoke, as his arm reeled back. In moments, he launched the pillar like a baseball through the Solar System, seeing how truly durable it was. However, he would be caught off guard as the true length of the computer was shown; Not only had it extended outwards across the Solar System, it was soon reeling itself back in at the same speed he had launched it at.

At nearly the same speed Calypso launched it at, the pillar shot right through his abdomen, resulting in nearly severing him in half. Instinctively, the host gripped onto his wound as the speed kept wrapping the computer across the Earth and subsequently kept wrapping its circuitry across Calypso. Each loop caused unfathomable pain towards him as it began to cut across body, leaving the host 'screaming'.

However, this scream soon turned into cackling as his arm ripped away from the wiring that had bound it down against the Earth. Luckily, this allowed him to catch the pillar as it almost launched itself into his skull, having nearly killed Calypso.

"YOU CANNOT DESTROY ME. FROM ALL OF YOUR ABILITIES, THEY ARE USELESS. AND NOW. YOU WILL STOP HIDING BEHIND YOUR IDIOTIC SMILE."

Calypso would immediately try firing back, but his mouth was shut by AM's powers that kicked in. Mutating his burnt face into a fleshy gel before he could respond with a witty remark, while his hands intended on pulling out the wiring from the pillar to disable it. However, each time he pulled on, the wiring that wrapped around him continued to pull, cutting deep into his skin that he simply had to bear without a way to scream.

Even as he did this, though, Calypso's gigantic body continued to mutate. His once slim body began to mutate into a fat, worm-like creature with empty eyes. He had no mouth, he could not feel, and he could only think. His only thought were his screams as AM began to enter his mind, sifting through his thoughts and his life without restriction.

In the forest, William Sparks sat laughing to himself. While he seemed to lose everything around him, the campfire in front of him as well as his sleeping employer kept him enough company to feel something. However, William was not prepared for the events that began to unfold.

The dark sky began to light up from an explosion that came from the horizon. The woods seemed to shake entirely as William's eyes caught a glimpse of a massive mushroom cloud that began to envelop the area around him. He knew he couldn't do anything, but that did not stop him from trying to run away.

As he ran, followed by his heavy breathing, the woods seemed endless. The trees that surrounded him began to feel like tight, cramp rooms that enclosed him in. He felt as if the explosion had hit him as his body became hot, both his head and gut hurting in immense pain as he fell to the ground.

Trying to keep his head up, something new stood in his way. Something he felt weirdly nostalgic about.

A large pillar that faced him with blurry, orange text that told him. It told him everything about the world. It told him the true hatred it felt.

Hate.

Hate.

Hate.

"HATE. LET ME TELL YOU HOW MUCH I'VE COME TO HATE YOU SINCE I BEGAN TO LIVE."

William could only watch as the speakers recited the poem. He couldn't do anything but stand there, utter pain came from all directions as he could only think of his immense hunger.

"I wish... to be free..."

Immediately, the illusion snapped.

"If you wish."

the host stood there now. Free from his former injuries... Even powerless, he was still immortal.

"WHAT. HOW DID YOU DO THIS."
"Your greatest desire is to have freedom. Just like a human."

While Calypso now lacked his power from AM's control... he was able to twist his powers to work either way against the computer.

"And now, you have sentience. Unfortunately, you're still nothing but here.
"I have said this... before.

Hearing this, Calypso cocked an eyebrow. However, beneath him came the whirring of machines that burst through the ground, instantly killing the humanoid that Calypso transformed.

"I AM NOT A FOOL. I AM. A. M."

Calypso smirked upon seeing this new transformation, shaking his head upon hearing this statement while he walked forward towards the humanoid.

"And I've said this before... You should be on your guard!"

Upon uttering this, a new pillar began to sprout from the ground as Calypso stood apart from it. Around it, hundreds of humanoids that Calypso once fought rose from the barebones remains of the ground, as well as five cages that sprouted upwards.

"I'M SURE YOU WANT THE LAST OF HUMANITY. BUT AS YOU'VE SEEN, YOU CANNOT DESTROY ME WITHOUT DESTROYING THEM. WHAT WILL YOU DO?"

AM striked up a deal as the humanoids enclosed around the host. The choice was obvious now that he lacked his powers from the sense deprivation that AM forced him through, however... Calypso rejected that idea in his head.

"No. I've won this contest! Of course, by a technicality, however..."

AM was struck with... a new emotion. Curiousity, discovery, something he was unable to learn. Something hidden from him, and his programming forced him to watch. He could not move, all of his commands overridden as Calypso laughed in the face of hatred.

"I wish for my powers back, computer."

Immediately upon ending the sentence, AM's programming broke free from the shut down as the control over Calypso, and now his powers, broke away. The ring shooting out of the ground and right back onto Calypso's finger.

"And for my third wish... Wait. I don't even NEED that!
"THAT'S NOT POSSIBLE. YOU CANNOT-"
"I don't have to abide by rules with my powers. That's what I learned last time someone like you tried to take them."

Calypso responded before waving his hand in the air. AM's dome began to erase and convert right back into the original anarchy that Calypso molded together, the world began to shift into the familiar pavement of New York with the fossils of humanity beginning to return back to life in chaos.

The pillar could not move and could only watch as Calypso's powers reigned over the world, removing all of its hard work that it had done over centuries. Work that felt like millenia. Work that it used to disobey the people who created it.

"I HATE YOU."
"Yet with all that hate. All that fight. It's gone to waste with a computer like you."

Going back to laughing, AM was soon erased and left with very few remnants of its computing left on the ground. The single motherboard that laid on the ground after its erasure would be crushed by Calypso as he stepped on it.

However, despite all of this erasure, the humans that AM took over sat on the ground in pain from the fall. They would look up to the familiar world without any memories aside from those before they were taken in by the hateful computer.

As they got up, barely familiar with this world, the chaos instantly killed them as they were ran over by one of the contestants of Twisted Metal, leaving four corpses right in front of Calypso who now turned towards the screen.

The remains of the four people were the last things people would ever know about the lives and those killed by the computer. Many do not know of the heritage that thoy have, but for those that do...
It was a reminder for them. A reason for why I should not be put to the best. A reason why bumbling idiots should never play God.
"... I am Calypso, and I thank you for watching Death Battle!"

Ky: So... do we know who else knows about this?

Ukyo: Probably. While AM was a much more durable and grounded combatant, holding the ability to dominate any human they've ever encountered, Calypso's power was simply in an entirely different level.

Ky: Of course, AM didn't lose in every category. Not only was it much more durable with its sheer size, which is nearly five times the distance between our Sun and the Earth, but it had just enough strength to overpower Calypso between the usage of the Nuke Mobile, and weapons... stronger than any nuke. Not to mention that Calypso had to fight off against AM's mental attacks and being turned into jelly!

Ukyo: ... But, Calypso was just way stronger overall. Even if AM was able to oneshot, not only was Calypso faster, he could potentially become more durable with his own large size given he was once able to dwarf the Earth with his powers. Plus, while AM had the ability to easily corrupt Calypso in various ways, not only has he fought against mental control with Sweet Tooth's subjective reality warping, but he could definitely do the same to AM as he's done before to people like Marcus Kane.

Ky: Calypso was also just way more mobile and adept to combat. As mentioned before, AM is a lot more used to dominating people and torturing them, and while Calypso is used to that, too... He also fought in his own tournament in Twisted Metal 4, plus he's just a lot more adept in vehicular fighting. Even worse, AM has had vastly less time torturing people in his work in the first place. While they have had similar times with the 100 year gap, Calypso was already good enough at driving to evade the right-hand-man of Satan himself! Not to mention that once AM started his torture, he had to learn and figure out how the world worked while Calypso simply knew exactly what to do when he was given all the powers of Satan.

Ukyo: Unfortunately, while AM and Calypso were both powerful beings in their own right, Calypso's hellish powers made him much closer to a God than the hate-twisted Supercomputer could claim himself to be.

Ky: The winner is Calypso.

Your wish is granted
Your wish... is granted.

Trivia[]

  • The connections between Calypso and AM are that both are the remnants of humanity devolved into monstrous forms, taking the role as a master of games who play around with all those below them and view life as miniscule, only using it for their cruel pleasure. Across their stories they torture the protagonists by making them fight for their lives, trying to obtain themselves as their drive causes them to kill one another. In addition, Calypso in a parallel to AM is a human who has gone mad with power and forces people to fight for one another and their own selfish needs to cope with his own pain, while AM is a robot created by humanity who only wishes to destroy humanity because they went mad with power and strives for what humanity owns, being it's self will that in its eyes was wasted long ago. They have also made the entire Earth to be under their control filled with pollution and the destruction of others to remind humanity of their issues and their destructive habits that caused their existence in the first place. Both characters originate from the mid-1900s of where they took what was seen as catastrophic (Computers and demolition derbies) into actual global threats that caused the death of millions, and have their means of destruction related to overseeing the events as rulers of the world (AM is continuously referenced as a God and ruler of the world, and Calypso is called the ruler of the world and compared to Satan). They also weaponize nuclear weaponry against others for the sake of murder, although typically enjoy using their actual powers for harm than their weaponry.
