This was an idea that was previously suggested to me by TJman461, so after thinking over it for a while I've decided to create a thread on it.
As the number of battles created so far in this year and in 2017 were substainally less than the number of battles created in the years before, this thread's purpose is to encourage more users
to take up battle writing whilst also encouraging current writers to continue creating fights in exchange for receiving helpful and constructive comments, listing ways in which they can improve their fights. To cut to the chase users can post fights that they've previously completed and then have to give a comment about what they thought of the previous user's battle/battles whilst also advising them on how they can improve their battles in the future.
Even if you don't wish to post any of your own fights, I recommend coming on here and following this thread if you want to read some of the battles created by the different authors on this site, especially if your a new user and want to see how other users write their fights.
Rules
- You can only post up to two fights, per message, every three days.
- While it is acceptable to ask for a particular battle to be reviewed more than once, in order to prevent users from requesting the same battle to be reviewed several times, said battle can only be reviewed twice and the 2 reviews have to be at least 2 months apart from each other.
- You must give a comment about the other user's battle before posting your own fights.
- However if you want to give a comment about another user's fight that you particularly liked in your message please do it underneath your comment about the previous user's fight.
- Please only post a fight on here if it has been completed as otherwise it forces other users to wait until you’ve completed said fight to make a comment on it and post their own fight and may lead to other users ignoring your comment and posting their own fight if they get fed up with waiting for you to finish your battle which undermines the purpose of this thread.
- Try and be respectful, even if you don't think that the battle was that good or disagree with the outcome.
- Try and comment on specific details of the fight (along with other sections of the battle if you wish to) rather than just giving a vague 'your battle was great!' type of comment (Ex. 'I liked the part where Knuckles said 'Oh No!' when Bowser threw the rocks at him' OR 'I really enjoyed the fight as I thought it was really action packed, especially when Sora and Cloud exchanged blows at a rapid pace. Keep up the Great Work!')
- Try your best to give a constructive comment on how the author can improve their fight alongside your other comments, even if you think that the fight is perfect. (Ex. 'While I really liked the fight, I do feel that there could have been more dialogue between Sora and Cloud and that Boomstick could have made more jokes in the analysis sections')
- Even if you disagree with the outcome, don't comment on it or the research, the idea is for the authors to receive kind and helpful that will encourage them to improve their battle writing, not to make them feel bad about themselves. However, if a battle on here does happen to suffer from REALLY poor research or breaks any of the Rules and Guidelines, the author will be confronted about the issue by an Admin.
- If you STRONGLY disagree with the comments that have been made about your fight, politely discuss the issue with the user about it on their wall rather confronting them about it on here. If the discussion gets out of control please report the issue on the Rule Violation Report.
If you have any questions any of the rules on here, please let me know on my message wall.
EDIT as of 3rd September 2018: I've decided to highlight this thread again so that more users can use it as a way of getting recognition for their battles as I personally feel that not many users are aware that they can use this thread for said purpose. I will also probably highlight this thread again from time to time in order to encourage new users to use it as well.
