In the same way the WWE comics are non-canon and therefore Enerjak beats Undertaker?
Lincoln's got like, a fucking huge boost when it comes to VS applicable stuff. Spy gadgets and shit.
The Loud House Movie is... bad.
And not just from a story perspective, they outsourced the animation to another studio and it shows. Stock images are used in promo material and the movie itself. It's wild.
No Time to Spy, on the other hand, is great fun. Of course, it's not going to set the world alight (Sonic the Hedgehog 3 clears) but it's a fun spy movie (though knowing what the anti-Loud House brigade are like, I'm more than prepared for people to compare the movie unfavourably to Cars 2).
The show's quality really hasn't dipped all that much at all, it's obvious that most of the criticism surrounding the show comes from people who clearly haven't watched the later seasons (and will vehemently claim they'll never watch it, because god forbid the idea of informed discussion).
I watch Cartoonshi. He's a great YouTuber, funny dude and he's also a fellow Yakuza enjoyer; I can't hate him. However, I can't deny his videos on the series have travestied the show as some sort of fart joke-obsessed show where Lincoln acts like a sociopath (IIRC he calls live-action Lincoln a terrorist in the making at one point; people portraying Lincoln as a psycho is a genuine problem in discussion surrounding the series) based on... three scenes from the show?
Like, I'm all for fair criticism (Nickelodeon's milking of the show, the lesser focus on what goes on in the Loud House, the live-action series' mere existence) but do those sound like fair criticisms? Because it's always the same points Cartoonshi brought up that people seem to parrot, and it gets on my nerves as someone who genuinely enjoys the later seasons (even if I have to admit there is somewhat of a decline).
Don't worry I'm one of the three people in the fandom that isn't... what's the most safe for work way to put this...
(Hopefully my other picks show I'm somewhat normal).
Cars 2 was okay when I was younger, but growing up as a Bond fan... yeah, looking back on it I'm not a fan, even just from looking at it as a standalone spy movie and ignoring the fact it's both a Pixar movie and a sequel.
Still a much better Bond movie than Never Say Never Again, though.
^^
What's people's problem with Cars lmao I've literally never understood the shit that movie (or Cars 3) gets.
I seriously need to consider playing other games. Yakuza 0 not withstanding, this list is kind of embarassing...
Connections on Gerald's side are just plain wrong.
Shadow isn't evil nor is he a twin of anyone (Shadow was created decades before Sonic was even born, how can he be a 'twin'?) and Gerald's backstory in the movies is just as tragic as it is in the games (loses Maria and is imprisoned by the government all because he sought to protect his family from G.U.N.).
>probably not like you want to hear this from me anyway
C'mon, don't say that. You know I'm happy to hear from you. Thanks for the kind words, it means a lot.
I thought you said you weren't coming back?
Yeah, hate to start the year with bad news, but I want to ease myself back into the writing process with a couple of simpler 1V1 matchups before tackling a massive army VS army battle.
Besides, who wants to see two Sonic episodes in a row (especially when the first one had two Sonic characters fighting each other)? Makes things stale real quick.
Serious question, would you guys consider two battles in two years an embarrassment when both battles' combined word count comes out to just under 11,000 (not including introductions, analyses, conclusions etc)?
Like, with 2023 I at least had a lot of shit going on in my life, but last year I had a lot more free time on my hands, so looking back on 2024 it seems kind of stupid to only have one matchup to my name.
Kinda disappointed just having one battle to show for all the writing I actually did last year (seriously, the word count for Zero VS Erza eclipsed Sonic VS Giorno if you included all the rewriting and rewording I'd done before holding it off again).
Still, new year, new chance to rectify it. Surge VS Scourge I hope does somewhat well.
Is it me or is Uzi from Murder Drones being pushed quite a bit on this Wiki lately.
First post I see in Discussions is someone saying they've done Uzi VS Ryuko, and both Uzi's page and Uzi VS Shadow show up on trending when I log in...
Damn, December already? And here I was hoping I wouldn't have to be making a Christmas tree-sized update post for at least another month or so.
So, last year I said that 2024 would be the start of a new beginning, and though it hasn't been as much a success as I had hoped it would be, it's been a decent year all round. Okay, 'decent' is being generous. Completing one matchup all year is rather lackluster, but Surge VS Scourge is my best episode to date, no question about it. I'm proud of what I've achieved in 2024, and I promise you, 2025 is going to be even greater!
Eggman VS Sigma
Now, I know everyone's been keeping a watchful eye on Eggman VS Sigma lately, and I appreciate that. However, due to both the scope of the battle and IRL matters preventing me from working as much as I'd like, I'm afraid the episode will have to be delayed until next year.
I can promise you this, however, Eggman VS Sigma will be the first thing I do in 2025. Count on it.
Mollie's Absence
As I'm sure you're aware, my fiancé has been absent since reaching the later stages of her pregnancy. However, I regret to inform you that this will be permanent from next year onwards.
As parents we'll both have responsibilities to uphold. Therefore, we can't both be on the Fanon at the same time, and as the person who's spent most of their time here, Mollie's encouraged me to keep going in her stead. It's a shame, I know, but I hope you understand.
DBX!
Good news, on the other hand, is the fact that I'll be returning to the DBX Fanon Wiki to run DBX alongside my ongoing Death Battle series. Some DB episodes will share continuity with various DBX episodes and vice versa, so expect things to get wild when the first matchup, Vile VS Infinite, drops following the release of Eggman VS Sigma.
The Sonic the Hedgehog Battle Royale.
You thought Sonic VS Goku was going to be the end-all, be-all Sonic related project?
Think again. Starting from next year, work on the Sonic the Hedgehog Battle Royale will commence, and with everything at their disposal, shit's about to get so chaotic that even the vast reaches of the Chaos Force itself won't be able to comprehend it.
See you until you decide to come back in, like, two weeks or so.
Well, shit's went down over on the Death Battle Wiki it seems.
Didn't think someone would go so far as to doxx someone, but here we are. Any idea who did it or have they not been found out yet, 'cos if that son of a bitch goes after me he's going to be stuck eating through a tube once I'm through with him.
Joker VS Giorno.
Take a wild guess why Bowser VS Eggman isn't my favourite of the season. Call it disingenuous, call it me being a whiny bitch, but I kind of struggle to fully enjoy episodes where my favourite character loses.
That's not to say I think it's bad, far from it, but it's for that reason that I can't rank it higher than some of my other favourites (Mega Man Battle Royale, Goku VS Superman 3 etc.)
