SCP-3143: Murphy Lawden VS Willard H. Wright
(SCP Foundation VS Umineko: When They Cry)
- Both are meta beings from a story within a story (SCP-3143 being a story written by a fictional author within the plot; in the No-Magic explanation, Umineko is a work of fiction within the story) who are created as an enhanced version of their authors (Murphy Law being literally Murphy Lawden, the author, in a scenario where he can solve any crime; Willard being the perfect reader, a sign of how Tohya views the tale of Beatrice and as a final goodbye)
- Both appear as normal detectives, but they can solve any mystery due to their meta nature (Murphy Lawden manipulates the plot until the case is finished; due to his nature as the perfect reader, Willard can understand the heart of any writer and thus reach the conclusion of any story)
- Both settings of their stories are set in the past (In the 30's; in the 80's)
- Both pay homages to classic mystery tropes (Noir movies; the Van Dine Commandments)
- Both are met with climactic outcomes when they are faced with a narrative-ending threat (Murphy dying to SCP-2747, the Anafabula; Willard assisting the protagonists against the opening of the Single Truth)
- Both are drippy as fuck frfr
