Featherine VS Mandrakk (Umineko When They Cry VS DC Comics)
My beloved....
SCP-3143: Murphy Lawden VS Willard H. Wright
(SCP Foundation VS Umineko: When They Cry)
- Both are meta beings from a story within a story (SCP-3143 being a story written by a fictional author within the plot; in the No-Magic explanation, Umineko is a work of fiction within the story) who are created as an enhanced version of their authors (Murphy Law being literally Murphy Lawden, the author, in a scenario where he can solve any crime; Willard being the perfect reader, a sign of how Tohya views the tale of Beatrice and as a final goodbye)
- Both appear as normal detectives, but they can solve any mystery due to their meta nature (Murphy Lawden manipulates the plot until the case is finished; due to his nature as the perfect reader, Willard can understand the heart of any writer and thus reach the conclusion of any story)
- Both settings of their stories are set in the past (In the 30's; in the 80's)
- Both pay homages to classic mystery tropes (Noir movies; the Van Dine Commandments)
- Both are met with climactic outcomes when they are faced with a narrative-ending threat (Murphy dying to SCP-2747, the Anafabula; Willard assisting the protagonists against the opening of the Single Truth)
- Both are drippy as fuck frfr
A mere five hours after it's announcement, Featherine vs English is now out! It's one I'm personally proud of, even though I didn't get to use everything I wanted to. Maybe I'll remake it to perhaps be longer in the far future.
Give it a read if you feel like it, and then leave your thoughts either here or on the comments of the blog! I'd also love to know your favorite lines and who you think won!
Have a great rest of your day! :)
Do you remember
The 21st night of September
Greetings, folks, and welcome to the very first of four RES! What will await you for the month of September? Well, this neat little post will answer that question! Let's get right into it!
Starting off with an upcoming rap battle! This is the one I had originally expected to release last of the current ones in the works because I assumed they'd be the hardest to research. Guess I was wrong. Huh.
This battle has been teased quite a lot in the past few RFAs, and only in the announcement post for this very series did someone catch on. Were the hints too good or were they too bad? That's a dilemma for another day.
Without any further ado, most of you are probably wondering what the rap battle is gonna be. Well, I am happy to announce that the next battle will be...
Forgive me... but I will not be implementing your scenario. I am the one who will record the script of what happens next.
YOU. YOU THERE GIRL. QUIT ALL THIS SCURRYING AROUND. DO YOU BELIEVE YOU CAN ESCAPE ME BEFORE I ARRIVE? HOW DO YOU EXPECT TO OUTRUN ME WHEN I'M ALREADY HERE?
Featherine Augustus Aurora (Umineko: When They Cry) vs Lord English (Homestuck)
Ah, yes, the ago old debate of the East vs West immortal string-pullers will finally come to a conclusion... in form of a rap battle where the winner is subjective. Jeepers.
When will it come out, you may ask?
...
Today, actually.
Yeah, it will come out in just a couple hours! Hope you stick around for it's release, because it's a good one!
Now, this isn't the only project coming out this month. If it were, why bother making a post of this size?
In the next following weeks, expect the come-back of my first "original" written series, re-invented into something that's actually good! Welcome onto the stage...
Wrestler For Hire: Re-Take!
A completely new spin on the original story, released not as individual chapters, but as the whole package in one! What new endeavors will the Necropantser get himself into? Find out soon, once it's released this month!
Hope you are as excited about finding out these news as I was announcing them, and I hope you stick around for the 1st of October for a new RES!
Have a great rest of your day! :)
Greetings, folks!
The next following months are jam-packed with projects, and what better way to announce them than with a monthly schedule preview? Well, that's exactly what Random's Ember Schedules, or RES for short, are for!
At the start of each following month (or tomorrow for September), a post showcasing all upcoming projects for the month will be revealed. This can range from revealing what will happen (For example; You will get a rap battle and a Death Battle this month) to more detailed reveals (For example; Mario vs Sonic - Rap Battle will release this month).
Also, these will only include written projects, and not community projects like DBF Interviews or Worst TN Competitions. I do these when I have a good timeframe to do so, and I can't really plan out in advance when I'll have the time. They will still happen though, don't misunderstand this.
Last but not least, there are probably gonna be concerns of doing multiple projects at once, since that ended in me cancelling almost everything last time I tried it. I can assure you that I've planned out everything much better than last time, and what I plan to make should be good to go.
As said before, the first RES drops tomorrow, make sure not to miss it (if it interests you)! Peak will await you, guys!
Have a great rest of your day! :)
Whose time-travelling bitchass moved a chair ffs
Welcome to... Random's Monday Announcements. I don't usually do these on days other than Friday, but these news are too... current, for lack of a better term, to wait a whole 4 days for. So, without any further ado, let's get right into it!
Alastor vs Creeper should hopefully be done by next week. It could probably be done by now if I hadn't been hit by a massive wave of Procrastinitis these past two months. I should get the analyses done this week fairly easily though, and the fight should follow soon.
Another thing hit by Procrastinitis is DBF Interviews. It was originally supposed to make it's "big return" this summer... and we haven't had a singular one in two. fucking. months. Frankly, I don't see myself being able to continue this series with all the extra work I gotta deal with. So, it'll either remain on an indefinite hiatus, or ownership of the series will be split or fully moved to another user. More details will be given once a choice has been made.
As you all probably know by now (at least, if you read these posts), the UISBR 2 has been moved to be my Season 2 finale. I want to really put my all into this, and the first step to soing so is to make a new roster. Truth be told, I cooked up the original one in one or two minutes, and, naturally, I want to put more time into considering who I want to add to the roster. So, I'll put up a post later today (tomorrow for certain timezones) where I present a wacky little event of mine. I hope you'll love it :).
Still working on more rap battles, one of which I hope to release soon. Here are some hints :):
The Irritating World Of Virtual Assistants
Royal Fruit Salad
Class Of Oh, Nein (this one lowkey sucks lmao)
As a little bonus announcement, Lord English vs Johnny English won the DBX poll I made, like, a month ago now I think? Anyways, expect that at the end of the year (it was tied with Spamton vs Koishi, so that one will probably [?] come after).
Well, I believe that is all. Have a great rest of your day! :)
"A fragmented life, outcast to space..."
"Stories die, but time we cannot waste..."
"Who were you? And who was I?"
"Left it up to our successors, yet doomed them with rending..."
"Now, it's our turn to write..."
"A Scary-Tale Ending..."
I do not like what I've created.
Gonna be working on this whenever I get done with both Hanyuu VS Kaede and the episode which comes after that. My most wanted matchup for my first off-season episode woohoo!

Conflict
Featherine is being her usual lazy self, having fallen asleep when she should've been writing. However, Mandrakk enters into her library, causing the Witch of Theatergoing to stir and confront the Dark Monitor.
Rising State
The two begin their battle, with Featherine using magic and plot manipulation to try and overwhelm Mandrakk, while the cosmic vampire feeds off of every plot Featherine makes and uses it to grow his strength. Could probably also work in the Overlord Cats here too.
Climax
Mandrakk reveals he's fed off of the other witches' existence, turning them into vampires in the process as well. He turns them on their former master, but FAA looks into Mandrakk's own tale and writes the Thought Robot into their level of reality. Featherine and Mandrakk continue to battle, as the Thought Robot battles against the other Vampire-Witches. ...Witchpires..
Falling State
Mandrakk adapts so much and feeds off of Featherine's stories so much, that he has Aurora fully on the back foot now. The Dark Monitor looms over her, ready to finish the Witch of Theatergoing off for good - he was just playing with his food now. Taunting her relentlessly, Mandrakk breaks down the witch's entire ideology, how could a scared little girl stand up to him? This causes something to stir within Featherine, a distinct feat that she had not seen in forever - for once, she could lose. And the price of her losing, would be all the other stories falling to Mandrakk's power; she was called a monster, but she always found comfort in those narratives of those struggling against fate.
Death #1
Featherine's paralyzing fear is too much, and it gives Mandrakk enough time to sink his teeth into her flesh. Nay, it wasn't just her flesh, but they pierced through her very soul and conceptual being itself, as her identity was lost and replaced with a new one... one which would serve the almighty Dark Monitor for thousands and thousands of years to come...
Death #2
Mandrakk leaps in, aiming to go for one final attack to claim his feast and make a buffet out of the remaining multiverse. However, Featherine breaks from her stupor and locks Mandrakk's hunger away with a Red Truth statement, summoning a stake to plunge into the Monitor's heart and send him falling back into the Dark Multiverse.
Aftermath #1
...Ikuko Hachijo, now turned into a vampiric servant of Mandrakk, enters into Tohya's room. She looks down at him, a smile creeping over her face. She entices him into coming closer under the promise of telling him something, but turns him into a vampire as well. With the two now slaves to Mandrakk's will and crafting even more stories, it is ensured that Mandrakk will never run out of food.
Aftermath #2
Featherine sits on the stairway leading up to the City of Books where her library is located. A small smile forms over her face as she looks to the purple sky and closes her eyes. She had gotten both a challenge and a new outlook on things because of this battle. Not only had she preserved the existences of the stories she enjoyed, but had also found out there were others out there on a similar playing field as her. Hopefully that would serve to stave off her boredom for a while longer, at least.
