Another battle on here did note that Brightburn has a sort of fear aura that amplifies the panic and fear in someone, and in one scene he was shown to have drawn stuff that either had or were going to happen in the movie, and there was also another picture he drew of him destroying the planet with his lasers.
Also, at the start of Megamind, the guy, as a baby, was able to fully process his trip from his home world to Earth (I’ve also heard that a novelisation mentions his home planet being in another galaxy) so you can argue for MFTL+ Tighten (ironic considering a different feat in the movie is considered rather infamous for how much people say it’s MFTL despite actually being relativistic (though since Megamind was completely frozen, you could do some calc stacking with the perceiving his trip to Earth feat).
Anyway, neither of these arguments let them beat Omni-Man, I just wanted to share their highest (though admittedly questionable) arguments, which could at least give him a bit of trouble.
Also, don’t really think being mind controlled by your ship and becoming a slasher is “going fascist”.
I said this before and I'll say it again
Tighten, Metro Man and Brandon should not be in a death battle. If we don't have a clear cut on their limits or how much damage they can take it'll get confusion and end up non canon when the reveal gets shown.
@Scarecrow640 Mind controlled? You talking about TIghten? The guy wasn't mind controlled he was always a broken toxic character who's obsession with Roxanne led him to being bad because she said no to his forced advances
^ No, he means Brandon. Admittedly though, Brandon's people's overall goals are fascist-esque in their beliefs; Hypernationalist, superiority complex, etc. Tighten was included because he's also incredibly proud of himself and has a superiority complex, mirroring fascism in a way. Homelander... Do I have to explain him? He's a man with a stadium-sized ego and was legit influencing the US Government. And to simply explain the Viltrumites... Superpowered alien Spartans.
^^ While I generally agree with the idea that we don't exactly know their limits, I have heard of a novelization of Megamind that might help clear up the blurry lines which define the power limits of either character, though I haven't read it so I don't know for sure. As for Brandon, it's definitely clear we don't know his limits; we do know he's at least small building level and supersonic as a kid, certainly far more powerful as an adult - but we don't know that since we haven't seen it.
^^^ FTL or MFTL, Tighten is definitely going to be a problem. While I would otherwise argue that Nolan would straight up curbstomp all three even if they team up, Nolan in this fight is on the verge of collapse from sheer injuries alone. If it was any other way it would already be nothing short of an execution instead of a fight and I wanted a more grounded character (building level, town level, mountain level, having planet level is just... Yeah...).
Also, love how that even though I specify Nolan is damn near about to collapse and probably outright die people still voted for him. I dunno if people just think he's still that strong or didn't read the fine print.
Well you just can't beat a Viltrimite apparently
It's totally possible to. Just not for these three it seems.
Just like Homelander, its hard to find the perfect matchup for Omniman. One that makes sense, is fair in both catagories, and won't be one-sided
Yeah, pretty much. I could summarize the four as:
Brightburn: Young, edgy, sadistic, but insecure-ish, inexperienced, lacking in power compared to the others here. Still very deadly and practically unkillable compared to humanity. Only just got his powers - you think he knows how to fight? Still fights for his people.
Homelander: Disdainful, sadistic, egotistical megalomaniac. Very insecure, emotionally unstable, and inexperienced. Extremely dangerous and honestly unhinged. Fights to satisfy his ego. Severely lacks pragmatism and real experience against equals.
Tighten: Petty, egotistical, and insecure. Highly emotionally unstable and jealous, inexperienced and deadly. Unhinged maniac with no clear goal other than self-satisfaction. Lacks combat skills and tends to lash out.
Omni-Man: Callous, detached, and pragmatic. Gives absolutely no fucks at all and has spent thousands of years being an intergalactic superpowered Spartan. Compared to the other three, he's literally unkillable and has no weaknesses possibly exploitable.
Finally, someone voted NOT Omni-Man lol
What do you think?
