-Both had a crappy childhood with terrible parents/relatives
-Go to schools to teach magic (Hogwarts/ Bablys)
-Have luck and coincidence happen
-Best friends who are more magical than they are
-Prejudice nemesis (Voldemort and Kirio Amy)
-Get dragged into conflict when they just want to have fun
-Are more at home in the fantasy world than the real world
