Yeah, I am pretty much making one for the DBF, go nuts.
Yeah, I am pretty much making one for the DBF, go nuts.
Now that I'm free again, I'd like to mention that my "taking a break" post (the one about alligators and crocodiles, oh my) contained hints for every single battle I'm doing for my second Season. And as my last hint so eloquently put it, my Season 2 premier will be Bowser VS Eggman. But before anyone gets too excited, there are a few things I'd like to talk about first, especially since one point relates to this episode in particular.
I do not intend on making anymore Death Battle rematches as part of my standard Seasons. I already have a planned bonus Season that's literally dedicated to doing any and all of those I could ever want to do. This episode is only being done as part of my standard second Season because it was already decided on being a part of my original first Season lineup back when I foolishly thought I could get 16 episodes done within a year. That was before the RT shutdown, let alone the DB Kickstarter, happened so it wouldn't even have been a rematch yet.
Also, since I'm only aiming for 8 episodes this year, as opposed to the herculean task of 16 I attempted last year, I will be spacing out my episodes a bit more from here on out. This means I will have more time to research everything, to make sure I don't forget entire sections from my notes while writing the battle itself, & to figure out what the conclusion will be. As such, Bowser VS Eggman won't be completed until sometime in February at the earliest, but it could possibly end up being a March release depending on how things go between now & then.
Serious question, would you guys consider two battles in two years an embarrassment when both battles' combined word count comes out to just under 11,000 (not including introductions, analyses, conclusions etc)?
Like, with 2023 I at least had a lot of shit going on in my life, but last year I had a lot more free time on my hands, so looking back on 2024 it seems kind of stupid to only have one matchup to my name.
I would say that's pretty impressive actually! 11,000 words are a lot for only the fights! Even when considering the fact that you had more free time this year, there were still probably other stuff more important than fanon battles to do like spending time with friends and family, experiencing new media, going on bike rides, etc. However, if you still feel like you could have done more, there's always this year! I haven't even finished my first battle yet so you have nothing to be ashamed of compared to me!
^^
You also became a husband & a father last year.
It's perfectly reasonable for you to have gotten less battles done when you have, frankly, more important priorities than writing fanon battles, even if you do happen to have a surplus of free time.
I think he should've wrote less and spent all that extra time with me actually (also thought I'd drop by and say hi)
I thought you said you weren't coming back?
I'm not, I'm just here to let everyone know I'm still happy and healthy if you don't count morning sickness and a sudden urge to eat everything in sight (order pizza you coward)
^^^^This
holy shit surprise cameo
What do you think?
